Quote from Sabertooth »ok, so you should babn all the rituals, and all the mana dorks, cause they can power up blood moon and chalice faster than normal. Look at rg ponza. Turn 1 utopia sprawl, turn 2 blood moon, or, on the same deck, you can change the utopia with birds of paradise, or arbor elf
Or in storm, turn 2 ritual into blood moon
This kind of thinking is just so empty of real analysis...
I don't believe anyone was advocating for a mana dork or ritual bans. The issue we were discussing was SSG's ability to pump out turn 1 chalice and blood moon, something that dorks can't do, and the fact that you'd need multiple rituals for it (at least for BM). In fact, we both, after discussion, stated that it shouldn't be banned right now. With all due respect, you ignoring the entire discussion to make a different argument altogether is the only thing devoid of analysis.

Can I have your cards?
But seriously, I dont understand how people can act so entitled. The format is fine. Its working. People are having fun. I understand people like you are grumpy, but dont make it seem like you're quitting because the format sucks.

Recently Dredge started doing the same thing, and it got nerfed (again).
Eldrazi Winter had the same ***** (it was even worse than the first two).
I played non-twin decks during twin's era. Your deck wasn't viable if it didnt:
a) have the ability to not tap-out turn 3
b) have removal for Exarch or permission for twin

That being said, Twin absolutely warped the format, as much as you as are in denial of that fact. Im not saying banning the top deck every season is a good thing. But considering it is consistent with WOTCs past actions, I say we live with it.
If your deck is getting large meta game shares, and its hard to beat it, then beware the banhammer. And if you dont like that, dont play Magic competitively.

Twin was as much combo as Ad Nauseum, with a little more reach if the combo failed.
(edit: now that I triggered all of you, no, not serious, not completely anyways :p)

In all seriousness, blue had its go in Modern, and it got cut. Some agree, some disagree. It'll come back eventually. It is cyclical. Just enjoy the damn game.

Modern is dead, but they keep seeing healthy and rising attendance numbers. Interesting....

I love all of these pros talking as if they know exactly how a card will play-out in Modern before its even legal.
Ive played against a good amount of decks using As Foretold in the past week for testing purposes, and turn 3 living ends, and turn 3 restore balances, are not something to scoff at. Depending on the build, you can get that down to turn 2.
Im not saying the card is broken, or even tier 1, but Im not arrogant enough to say it will not see any competitive play at all.
You guys speak as if players just have empty slots in their decks for more main board removal. Even if AF gets decayed, it still does what it is supposed to do.
