I want to play the prerelease events but i dont know what is the EV
    The options are
Sealed and draft, at first glance it seems the ev is horrible, should I wait for DAily sealed (which as far as i know are the bettter limited EV events) or is there anything worth playing ev wise?

I think the bans are bad for merfolk really bad.
This means more Zoo, more affinity, more amulet of vigor, more BG/x, less burn, less pod, less delver.
There is no way that picture is good for merfolk.
I´m already prepared to sell my merfolk deck and jump out of the merfolk bandwagon.

First mutavault is really really good, so if there is an argument for more blue, more lands may be welcome, most of my lists have 21 land for that reason. But you have vial so you have 16 lands, and 4 cards that be not only extra blue, but can provide UU by itself. Also you have as said silvergill adept, Relic of progenitus and spreading seas (and in some cases remand or thessa) so one island can get us into more islands. In fact the game has so many cantrips that is not unusual to flood , so i can see the reclutance of playing more lands.

Long story short, if you want more blue, play more blue, but don´t remove mutavault, is too good of a card in the deck. But the deck can work prefectly with 16/17 Blue mana. (I never remove vial though)

Spell snare so countered by vial and cavern of souls which every merfolk uses that it doesn´t seem that exciting to me.

ok make it that 9 merfolk in 5 dailies. MERFOLK FRENZY time to talk about best sb plans. Are there good cards for the mirror that are not terrible against the rest of the metagame? the best card I can think off is dismember, but i think 2 or 3 are already in most lists. i think the UW version with path of exile and the merfolk lifelink have a slight advantage in the mirror? but i really hate path of exile.

in the last 5 dailies i faced a total of 8 merfolk, W T F. Time to dust off those merfolk assasins...

Signifier, on your mana base, if you don´t use Kira, I think 4 cavern of souls is ideal, the only reason, to use less imo is if you pack kira. Also I would pack wandervine hub and the two legendary lands if you can afford it. The main reason is choke which is in many sideboards, but Ive been the target of Boils, some deck like RG tron and Trhough the breach deck pack them. as a small bonus sometimes in Merfolk mirrors you can avoid playing a single island which when you are on the draw, can be the difference. the only reason to not pack them is fear to blood moon, but unless there is a lot of it, seems a bad reason.
I think 2 thassa is too dangerous, thassa is already a marginal card, when you add the chance to draw two, that small margin falls off. I prefer Dismember and gut shots over Vapor snag, but honestly is metagame dependant
The sb is alos very metagame dependant so i cant comment much, but it makes no sense to pack all those gut shot and dismember sb to me when they can be maindeck to replace those vaporsnags. Also I think packing at least one hibernation sb, is recommendable except on the most weirds of metagames.
Also to me is hard to find metagames where I want to pack 4 master of waves and Zero Kiras, the main reason to pack kira imo is to protect Master of waves, And if im not packing kiras im probably going 3 or 4 Chalices of the void. Unless you plan to play vs Red decks mostly all day. But protecting master of waves of path of exiles (which you can do wtih chalice) and dismembers/slaughterpack is imo important when you pack 4x master of waves. however is possible your meta lacks black decks, if so, chalice can be just fine.
But I guess in a metag with Burn, devler, Pod, and combo decks, not running kiras to protect master or wave is ok

Personally I don´t side out the vial vs rock, but maybe I´m doing it wrong.
In any case, depending on my build I may feel confident in the matchup.
Good cards to have in deck outside the core cards
Relic of progenitus (good turn 1 play that can neutralize tarmogoyfs and other creatures)
Dismember (kill tarmo, ooze and Rhino)
Kira. My main way to beat rock is to do Kira/Master of waves combo. it can win the game on it´s own.
Thessa. This is very very good vs rock and can steal the game by allowing you to just draw better overall.
    Tidebinder: Just overall good
Coralheim commander: it will be often a big flyer in this matchup.
    Spreading seas: to break stalls

Depending on how many of the mentioned cards you have in your deck it can go from strongly unfavorable to slightly favorable.
    Cards you want to avoid:
    Cursecatcher: Does nothing
Counters: Sometimes I have a flashfreeze in the sb and bring it vs rock, but don´t go overkill here because counters are not really good here.
Bounce: It´s ok to have 1 hibernation for a surprise kill OR 1 echoing truth if it´s a junk with tokens, but other than that, avoid at all costs.

He, my merfolk built gained some recognition.
Though I do not appreciate this particular build match, i hate remand, and are out of my deck now.
Lately i´ve been not doing great. Im 0-4 in matches vs Jeskai flash.

The problem with Redirect is that is UU spell. , which seems hard to cast with cavern of souls in the deck. Counters in the main are needed to combat combo though, so it´s really a meta call. If you have counters main you can have great matchups vs combo, but without them it can easily beceom your worst matchups.

I´m looking for good spells vs Junk, I dont think its a bad matchup but after sb i end siding in/leaving in stuff that is bad just because i dont have anything better (like gut shot :S)
I would be interested in how a very anti junk merfolk version would look like.

I use Kira vs Shackles. otherwise I agree Kira is not great mainly because Abrupt decay is very popular. But I find the shackles is gg otherwise.
I used to run a lot of counters main, but now I even run 0 generally, that is great vs most decks but is a nightmare vs scapeshift.
