And now Blood Moon. This set is insane.

I'm completely in love with Walking Ballista. Was difficult to find space but testing 4 right now. Being colorless makes this card just bonkers.

What I'm wondering is, to play Basilisk Collar or not? It obviously makes the Ballista even more crazy, but I'm not sure how often we can/want to pay that mana. If we have spare mana we can already start doing crazy things in most builds.. While it still gets along with mana dorks that can then defend and token from our planes.
Any returns from those who already tested Collar?

    Hello

I have a question about multiple effects resolving at once. I've read threads about Eureka, Show and Tell and alikes, but it's always been "simple" cases. Few spells, clear order in Eureka and active player priority.

But let's say you resolve a Living Death and you return lots of creatures with abilities. Like "when x enters the battlefield, destroy target creature".
Who can target who? I assume everybody as the all see each other after entering the battlefield at the same time.
But how do you resolve the stack? Active player puts all his triggers in his order then other player does the same?

For example, if a player has an "when x enters the battlefield, target creatures gains hexproof" and other player has "when x enters the battlefield, destroy target creatures", which will resolve first?

Sorry if questions isn't clear Sweat

    Pidduuu, thanks for report

I like the Sylvian Cariatid idea. After playtesting a bit with MTGForge, there have already been too many times where I didn't have a target or a simple removal messed it all.

RisingTaide, I was pretty sure about the Faithless lootings but I also wondered about Cathartic. Isn't having both a bit too much? How did playtest go?
Your list obviously doesn't care about original shuffling all the grave, but I wouldn't ever drop the N.1 I-come-I-win creature in such a deck. I also play a singleton Iona, but I'm quite surprised with new Kozilek and ITB. From my playing with Through The Breach decks I can tell the highest annihilator is almost always what you want/need. Your thoughts?

This is a completely different deck.
I also don't like Glittering Wish at all as it is clunky and slow
(I haven't seen a competitive deck using it in recent years).

The whole point of the build discussed in this thread is to cheat out huge game-ending fatties early by "fusing" Breaking // Entering with Brain in a Jar or the "Expertise" cards accelerated by mana dorks (and SSG).
As a value/backup/refuell plan there is Beck // Call which is obviously very good when "fused".

Completely agree. This deck needs to be focused on its main gameplan to be competitive. In such a fast format we just want to fuse as fast as possible and avoid any clunky or slow card.

Wincon is super powerful and fast, but the real problem is -as with any deck playing tons of super expensive fatties- awful hands. I'm even considering Faithless Looting as we already play red, despite nonbo with graveyard shuffle I'd rather wash away some eldrazi and dig.

Speaking of Fatal Push, it's the card that's really got me thinking about this deck (I currently play Bant Eldrazi). Does the deck really even need the Relic+Strangler package now that Push is a thing? I feel like they could be replaced with Pushes and Mind Stone/Talismans. Plus maindeck GY hate is less needed with Dredge nerf and Fatal Push for Tarmogoyfs.

I'm thinking the same. While we don't get the (conditional) creature+removal, FP's ability to clear instant speed and hit land creatures are just too good. Keeping the Relics though.

    Will try
    -3 Wasteland Strangler
    -1 Terminate
    +3 Fatal Push
    +1 Dreadbore

You're more inspired than ever Curdbros ! Awesome job turning the Thune-Feeder combo into lethal damage.

Btw Renegade and Maulfist are definitely brewer's paradise. Especially Renegade as I've always loved playing with blinking effects. I think there's many infinite combos waiting in the dark depths

Renegade Rallier is actually really crazy. Returning any of our dorks, an Oath, Visionary, and/ more importantly lands (in particular in a deck with Horizon Canopy, Nissa VF emblems, Tireless Tracker, erc.) gets out of hand VERY quickly. It is pretty incredible when it brings a Nykthos back too. I have had many games where I played a Nykthos after "triggering" my Nykthos already on board; blowing it up only to play Rallier to return it (after triggering the second Nykthos of course)....he allows for turns where you are able to Trigger Nykthos 3 times before the aid of any planeswalkers.

    Awesome tech Curdbros Smileup

Hi guys and late Happy New Year !

Been in the mountains all winter so no deckbuilding in a while.. but those spoilers bring good stuff ! Especially Locket of Myths can't wait to playtest it.

Agree with Curdbros on Heroic Intervention, great add to sideboard (but I'm never having them maindeck).

Green Expertise is quite difficult to evaluate, probably good for combo decks like Curdbros', otherwise too expensive for something that can "miss". Even though casting a free Primal Command out of this sounds dreamy.
But at 6 mana in Modern I'm ok to risk Deploy the Gatewatch and likes but nothing under that power level :p Too bad it says 5CMC and not 6 but maybe it would be too pushed. Dunno, needs testing.

Yeah there must a new Bolas with starting loyalty close to his ultimate waiting.

I don't know how people seriously evaluate its ultimate.
It sounds plain stupid to me. ELEVEN loyalty AND depends on your life total.

He only seems viable in Standard, and even then I don't think he will wreck house. Everywhere else he's trash. Even in EDH. Paying 6 mana to Swords To Plowshares and probably not be able to activate him again because he'll be dead isn't efficient at all. The plus will miss. It doesn't even net you lands, that's just nonsense. Even Swords to Plowshares two times for 4WG doesn't seem that good, and that will not happen often. Even in limited he's not that great because the plus will miss a lot.

The ultimate doesn't do anything unless you are already winning.

I am really disappointed about this. If Tezzert is this power level, I will be severely bummed.

    My thought's exactly.

Only the +2 could make it anything besides terribles, and you still have to build around it. I can see that whiffing too much.

StP is awesome but not if you pay 6 mana and you walker has TWO loyalty left.

Ult is plain stupid and only winmore.

Was about to post it Curdbros Wink

Putting the list for those lazy to click and to discuss it more easily Tongue

A mix of everything, so many 1 ofs: 1 Ooze, 1 Kruphix, 1 Titan, 1 Tracker, 1 Slime, 1 Bellower (+ obvious Behemoth).
I like the idea but I think he's got quite lucky with his draws, I'm not sure he's got enough digging and tutoring to play 1-ofs. But then, those are strong cards on their own.
Don't know, maybe it's just a good mix, would try to test someday (I haven't played much lately), but it will feel really weird to play ONE Titan.
