I think Image is still incredible, but 1U is so much more flexible than UU.

I agree that vanishing 3 is vastly preferable to the image drawback, and if they were both 1U this would be obviously better. Image really shines in 2- and 3-color decks for me where you can get all the strong ETB creatures across multiple colors, and UU is obviously a harder ask. Maybe it doesn't matter because you're basically never playing image on 2, but I would need to test to see.

I think this is a testable card, though, and I plan to (especially since it doesn't have the aesthetic of a lot of the other cards which are so obviously a known actor).

It seems like you would just choose between "Flying and Scry 2" or "Food Token" with a narrow case for nonflying scry 2 token if you have some kind of reason to not want a flier (Hurricane effects?)

Yeah the fact that you can sneak in a flying scry 2 with a winged horned toy is what feels the most silver bordered about this (and I wish it wasn't an option on the card, but I get why they did it this way for flavor reasons). I plan to just run it as "you pick one of the three tokens."

I'm assuming I can decide the attributes of the token?

I think this is a strong card, 6 power for 4 mana is a good rate with 2/2 flyers that can help contest the air.

Yeah. When I test this I will probably say you get your choice of 1 attribute for the tokens (flying, scry, or with food) and either just make them all green white or let you pick the color.

    Applejack 2GW

    Legendary Creature — Pony

Family Gathering — At the beginning of your end step, put a toy you own onto the battlefield as a 2/2 creature token with that toy’s name, colors, and creature types. If the toy has wings, the token has flying. If the toy has a horn, scry 2. If it has neither, create a Food token.

    4/4

Yes, yes, silver bordered. However, apart from the "toy" part, this really feels like a rare/mythic that could have seen print in a modern horizons set where you simply chose one of the 3 tokens each end step (2/2 flyer, 2/2 scry 2, 2/2 and a food). If you put silver bordered cards in the cube (I do), this seems right in the sweet spot of powerful but not broken, clearly works within the magic rules (especially if you just house rule it to say pick a token, rather than having to carry toys around), and not absurd (unless you really hate the flavor).

I will be testing this as I expect it to be a top 5 selesyna card on power level. It's really only soft to instant speed interaction and wraths, if it sticks for a couple turns I don't see how you lose.

I think this is easily the best of the 2nd tier of aggressive white 1-drops (behind Isamu, Bodyguard, Kytheon, and Usher). The spell half is real - if your opponent stabilizes with something like Batterskull it represents 3+ damage you're able to get through, which is WAY more than most of the W 1-drops can do when you draw them late. Yeah, it's less good on T1 than most of the other options, but I think having actual late game use makes up for that. I think it's way better than the fringe ability 2/1 like Woe-Reaper or Soldier of the Pantheon.

I don't love an anthem that doesn't impact combat on attacks the turn it comes down and costs 5 mana, especially one that's as telegraphed as this one. The 2-for-1 is nice, but it's safe to say that neither half of this card is remotely close on its own, and I just don't think the sum of the parts makes a card I want to play.

I think this is a slam dunk auto-include for the red section even if you never intend to cast the creature portion.

Does being instant really matter that much for your average red deck? The various 2-mana versions haven't set the world on fire IMO, and while I love light up the stage it's only because you can pretty reliably cast it for 1 mana.

I really like the threat of Quagmire to trade with anything, but this is a much better attacker. I think quagmire is fine, not great, so I will test this.

Having to be a gruul card (not happy playing this in a deck that can only play either half) kills it for me.

Agree, easy swap over lumbering falls. 1 additional mana is well worth it for the much beefier stats and the ability.

I still can't imagine wanting a tap land in Boros, and this doesn't convince me otherwise.

Yeah I don't think this is as easy a swap for fumarole. On an empty board, Fumarole kills SO much faster and it can actually block, unlike this one.

Still, 2 mana versus 4 is a huge deal. I suspect this is better, but I think it's close.

So if you find a way to get this in your yard (are you ever casting this?) you get a 1/4 chance to reanimate a pretty average body every turn. Seems like an easy pass.

This looks worse than Shambling Vent to me. It costs more mana to activate, and only gains life when it's attacking. It's a good card, because it's still a manland that fixes mana and gains life, but I think it's worse than Vent if you're only playing one of the lands in that color combination.

Agree. It also can't eat 2/2's like vent can (although it can block bigger creatures without dying).

Card seems fantastic as it impacts the board when you cast it (the usual problem with card draw enchantments) and then draws you 4 extra cards and then, if you somehow haven't won the game, you get the mana for a giant turn.

On power level, seems testable. I have no interest in Dr. Who, though, so I won't be adding it.
