I created this deck a few weeks ago and have been destroying the few guys I've played with. We tested it against a variety of decks. Haven't faced Mono-Red but I did play a Black/Red Haste that was just as fast as mine but couldn't keep pace with the early power.
Let me know what you think. I'd like to take this to our FNM this week and see how it does. I've also put together a Sideboard but its kind of just some thoughts thrown together.
I was looking to make a Bant Control Deck for our upcoming local Invitational Qualifer in May. I saw that not a single player played this type of deck so I thought I could make some waves...
Please give me your advice. I don't have all the cards yet so I haven't been able to test it but I want to see what everyone thinks before I got out and trade for and/or purchase the wrong things.
Thanks so much for your help! I really like this deck but I keep getting creamed unless I get a perfect draw (especially against my son who plays a red/green creature deck).
I will definately get rid of the Index and the Fleeting Distraction. I just bought a box of Innistrad so hopefully I'll have some Think Twice in there to help me draw more cards.
I also have a Jace, Architect of Thought that I wasn't even using. I don't know why I never even thought of adding that.
I have one Sphinx's Revelation but I took it out because it seemed like I was only ever to draw one or two cards max and it didn't seem cost effective.
So I'm going to try removing the 8 cards that you recommended and adding the Jace, Think Twice x 4, Sphinx's Revelation x 1 (I only have one), and Feeling of Dread x 2.
Hopefully that will stablize things a little and not make my opening draw so important.
LOL. I didn't really think it was but I couldn't find a place to post about the Blue White Control...
I'm relatively new to Magic and honestly don't even know what people mean when they say "Bant Control"
I know Control is trying to control the board, etc. but that's where my knowledge ends.
Any help that you could give me on my deck or a potential sideboard would be greatly appreciated. As I said, I had the green in there for the Simic Charms and also Rancor because I wasn't orginally using ublockable creatures.
The green was in there for the Selesnya Charm (Removal of big things that snuck through) and also for some trample effects before I got the Stalkers. I'm not sure whether to keep it or to just eliminate green and go with basic lands.
