I wanted to share something here. After 2 years I was able to foil out Blue White control.
I cant post a video here, so here is a link to my twitter showing the video of it.
After reading all the information from Bilbao and the articles on it and then all the new cards that came out I am thinking about running the main deck below.
After watching some streams with people like Gabriel Nassif Teferi, Time Raveler & Narset, Parter of Veils seem very strong.
I took out the Ghost Quarter and added in the Blast Zone, Ghost Quarter never seemed overly strong with me, but Blast Zone seems like it could be a lot stronger. Last new card being Dovin's Veto witch seems just straight up way better over Negate.
Hey MiniMee314,
Thanks for the report. Amazing job! I seen your list when they posted the Top8 decks on CFB, and it is great to know you are apart of this Forum.
I had a few questions about your deck list... Just a few things to see where your thoughts are on card choices, especially after a great run at the GP.
1) You are only running 24 Lands instead of 25, most notably Going down to 3 Celestial Colonnade, why was that?
2) You are running 2 Serum Visions along side the Opt, are they preforming well for you? Looks like you took out the one land and a Timely Reinforcments to make room for them. Any regrets not having the Timely main?
3) Sideboard talk: Cataclysmic Gearhulk I have seen alot of people running this now, with Gabriel Nassif being big on this card. Any thoughts on not having access to it in your games?
4) Also See you was only running 1 Stony Silence that almost seemed scary to me!
5) Runed Halo is a card being talked about alot for Maindeck/Sideboard especially for the Phoenix decks. Do you wish you would have had it?
Sorry! I dont mean to be grilling you. LOL Just a few random questions. Thanks in advance!
Really good points, I love watching Nassif, I am a subscriber to his Twitch Stream. He was also talking at one point how Dragonlord Ojutai preformed greatly for him when he used to play it, and could see maybe cutting 1 Teferi for it. I for one thinks that crazy! But I am also not a Pro Tour winning Hall of Fame member, so maybe he knows more then me. lol
But I do like the idea of also trying a Dragon Lord once and see what happens.
@Wolffman I also play the Ghost Quarter in my deck, but you are right that I also have not found it amazing or anything. What would you like in the deck more? Just another island? I have a funny idea, but Calciform Pools Sure it might be bad, but we pass turns alot and do nothing. If we do that 2-3 turns, we could have 1 land thate that gives us 2, 3, 4, mana for a turn. That's seems interesting that we could cast a Absorb off the one land on a turn and still have mana left over to cast another instant and a secret tech vs. the mirror. But maybe I am over thinking and I'm trying to be to "cute" with a card. But also just trying to think outside the box.
I forgot a few cards in my last post like Nihil Spellbomb, Relic of Progenitus, and Runed Halo
Since last playing with this deck there are some cards that are worth talking about to see if they would make this better like:
Now the 2 creatures Djeru, With Eyes Open & Thalia's lancers might look a little odd, but they both tutor for our Planeswalkers.
I played with the Lancers before and I always liked them, they are a 4/4 beater them self's but also they go get whatever Planewalker you need at the moment and is, then they are another threat coming down next turn, that is hard for our opponent to deal with most of the time.
I used Kalitas, Traitor of Ghetbefore and he was "okay" maybe he is better now with all the graveyard decks, but I have not used Djeru yet and think I will try him this weekend, he has 1 less toughness does not have First Strike like the Lancers, but does have Vigilance and prevents a damage that would be done to a Planeswalker, and that might come in more handy then I have thought of before.
Something I have put together for testing this weekend.
Kaya, Orzhov Usurper and Relic of Progenitus are new in the deck for me but with the Dredge and Arclight Phoenix decks right now, I think they could be a really good call. Also adding a Runed Haloin the start I wanted it for the Arclight decks to name Thing in the Ice but it turns out it is good vs. every deck really and is just a answer for whatever the threat is on the board or will have from your opponent.
I was reading a spot on Sam Black playing a Esper control list. But we was running the normal 8 counterspells in the deck but it was 3 Absorb and 4 Cryptic Command and a logic knot.
I know that is with black in the deck, but that is a interesting idea of going up on the Absorb's, I was also talking to Gabriel Nassif in his twitch chat yesterday, and he was talking about going up to 2 Absorb's as well. Maybe it is better then what we think, even at 3 mana?
Thanks, funny thing is, I just ordered 4 Sword of the Meek & 4 Thopter Foundry over the weekend. SO maybe this is where I need to be.
I just have one thing as a... road bump if you will. I had all my old cards from back when, but only had 3 Mox Opal, and now that they are $90+ dollars, I don't think I am going to get 1 more. So I will be playing with 3, and put in another 1 of, something from the sideboard.
Hello everyone, It has been a long time since I was in here talking, but recently I think this deck keeps looking better and better.
From the article by Frank Karsten on ChannelFirball, Blue/White control had a 59% win rate in day two of GP Bilbao. That seems amazing.
I want to play around with a few cards, and get peoples feed back. One thing that has come into the deck since I last played was Settle the Wreckage so I would like to see about maybe running 2 of them and then having a Torrential Gearhulk in the deck to recast it with counter spells.
I maybe fooling myself, but it seems really good.
Right now I have a 17 card Sideboard, I just need to figure out what the weakest 2 cards are and cut them. (I think I know what they are, but just don't want to cut them)
Hello all, Before I started I wanted to make sure this is the correct forum for Whir Prison.
I'm about to start building and playing the deck, and had a few questions.
Hello everyone. I have not been active in this forum since the beginning days over a year ago (Maybe 2?). But with all the graveyard decks popping up and steam rolling through Modern, I cant help but this this deck would be awesome.
We have Path to Exile, Condemn, Rest in Peace, Leyline of the Void, Surgical Extraction, & Settle the Wreckage, and I'm sure there are some cards I could be forgetting about on top of the other Wrath of God effects we have.
I would like to pick up the conversation on this again, put our heads together and see if we could come up with something more.
Hope I can get a few of you to join me and getting this deck back on the right track.

Lots of interesting information from one of the largest Modern events with 65 Blue/White control decks playing in it.
