  • posted a message on Terrible Plays in EDH
I've had plenty of terrible plays, but the most recent one was being about to combo off with Reveilark and Karmic Guide... Except I sacrificed the Reveilark first and had no way to revive it again that turn. Another player combo'ed off on his turn for the win.

One of personal favorites from other people will always be a buddy of mine who cast a Brainstorm while Leovold, emissary of Trest was in play. He had no alternate plan, simply messed up and put what was left of his hand on top of his deck, kek.

Another favorite was this guy who casted an Obliterate in a three player game while he had a Mogis, god of slaughter and some effect that dealt damage when we drew cards. I had a Wurmcoil Engine and a Sylvan Library in play, the other player had like 30hp left. The guy missed his next five land drops and died from the Wurmcoil's tokens and the other player's nearly flawless recovery.

There was another where someone casted a Living Death in order to try and save themselves, but instead gave someone else the following: Deadeye Navigator, Peregrine Drake, & Purphoros, god if the forge.

Personally I haven't had any issues with my mana base, have been consistently getting my Yidris out on turn 3-4. Mana base looks something like (deck isn't near me atm):
    6 shocks
    6 checks
    3 fetches
    Command tower
    Mana confluence
    City of brass
    Exotic Orchard
    Reflecting Pool
    4 forests
    3 swamps
    2 islands
    1 mountain
    7 utility lands

    Alright, will do.
I'm guessing Emrakul doesn't work all that well in the deck is because of her cost and since she doesn't do anything when reanimated?

    Hey everyone!

I've been stalking this thread for a while now. Loved the idea and built a deck somewhat heavily inspired by the competitive build (http://www.mtgvault.com/shikari/decks/sidisi-20160624/)

Until recently I had loved having Tasigur in the deck as an alt to Sidisi, but as I just added Genesis I'm much more hesitant to play him and use his effect.
I was wondering what were I could replace him with? I was considering testing the new Emrakul since it should be pretty easy and am pending to get my hands on an Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre.

You do realise that White =/= good, right? One would think that +23 White aligned antagonists would fix the misunderstanding.

Nahiri is involved in the cryptoliths. She may not be their ultimate designer, but she is clearly creating them. She also explicitly stated she wants Innistrad to suffer.
What exactly is a white-aligned reason to bring an Eldritch monstrosity to a plane that will ultimately slain all its inhabitants? Yup, she says that, out of regret, out of contempt, whatever, but she does so while breaking the Markov Manor, aka the vampires related to Sorin. She may be after Sorin and his lineage after all, and given that Sorin is the protector of Innistrad, the implication would be that Innistrad would suffer indirectly from the loss of the guardian vampire it has.

Assuming that Nahiri is out for Innistrad, I'd imagine something happened between her and Sorin after the events of Stirring from Slumber that would make her seek 'justice' for Zendikar. We've already had cards in white that sorta represent that (Karmic Justice & Martyr's Bond).

I feel like the vision Avacyn had was caused by Nahiri disturbing the Leylines, while the maddening effects are being caused by whatever Nahiri's end game is, not necessarily directly caused by Nahiri. Personally I'd like to think Nahiri is using Innistrad's mana to wake up the Stormkirk's god, and that as the god wakes he's the one causing Avacyn's madness and the other things we're seeing. According to the story, Avacyn took a while before she started acting on her madness after all.
