Lol I know, I'm not saying I never win against affinity. What I'm saying is when I do, they either kept a slow hand, or I drew all my removal. Generally if I don't hit enough removal I'm dead by turn 5. Perhaps I'm just the unlucky guy who always gets t2 cranial platinged on a vault skirge or turn two ensoul artifacted. If I can get to turn 5/6 and still be at 10+ life, I can pull out a win usually unless I misplay. The hard part is getting to that point.
I generally side out remands, discard. And side in spells kite, darkblast, recalls, sowers(they can't easily remove it, and it's only bad if they have ravager in play already) and EE
Affinity is by far my hardest matchup. The guy crushed me on top of it. Game 1 he flooded the board and just kept ahead of any removal. Game 2 on t2 he had 3 vault skirges out. I never seen my sb hurkyls. Idk how you have an OK affinity match but struggle in your Uwr, as I'm basically the opposite.

That's the 75 I registered. I ended up spiking out before the event started and trading in some stuff to pick up two liliana of the veils last minute, and am very glad I did. Now I have yo find a way to pick them up on mtgo tho, which isn't going to be fun
OK just finished up at the CFB ptq. Ended the day at 6-3 finishing 48th out of 409 players. I'll try and do a full report tomorrow afternoon (too tired to think ATM) but I'll leave ya with this: every game I won, I won 2-0. My day went boggles 2-0, tarmotwin 2-0, jund 2-0, young pyro delver 0-2, affinity 0-2, jund 2-0, burn 2-0, pod 2-0, burn 1-2. I only lost the match against burn in the last round due to stuck on 3 lands game 1 and game 3, otherwiset hand beat him easy and I would have locked in top 8. My other two losses were both in the running for top 8, with the affinity player locked.
I'll try for a more full report + deck list tomorrow, very happy with my performance today, and only one or two changes I think I'd make after this.

I'm curious to see Joe bernals list. Doesn't seem to be on any sites yet that I noticed(I seen an older top 8 list of his with faeries that had some interesting choices, so curious where he ended up)

I had cryptics already from playing twin. Blossoms were 18ish on mtgotraders... The lands are reallllly cheap. And I had vendilion cliques from twin/ur delver. Vckique is the most expensive card I think at 50+ fix, cryptic runs around 20-25. And blossoms 18-20. So not horrible. And the expensive pieces work in multiple decks. If you run lili tho, be warned. She's 100+
Also, this is my current list. And what I played with on stream, I did make one change(damnation became a glen elandra archmage, due solely to losing to scapeshift twice the day before in the daily and wanting something to try for it.)
Also, about the tamiyo and logic knot, those are sort of flex spots that I'm testing. I'm very happy with both so far, but understand any skepticism. If I had lilianas, they'd prolly take those two slots. However, logic knot has been playing decently as a one of, and tamiyo is amazing in the midrangey matchups, since they rarely have more than one OE two active threats to deal with.
Also, her -2 can target yourself after a token bitter blossom swing to refill your hand(I drew six cards the other day against mono u tron, easily finding an answer to a platinum angel opponent was recurring with academy, allowing me to kill him on the spot)
Yeah I am. Still learning about streaming, so it isn't any kind of polished stream. No can/mic ATM. Just me playing and chatting.
The vod from yesterday is pretty good tho, won an 8 man then did some 2 mans afterwards. And played a Fae mirror to start the stream. Like I said on reddit, I dont have any kind of regular stream schedule or anything, just started doing it at someone's request, and there seems to be some interest, so figure it can't hurt to have some content for people to watch/critique. Its all a learning experience for me. I play it on mtgo to practice for paper (going to CFB ptq this Sunday, so wish me luck!)
Just a quick FYI, I've been streaming UB Fae lately on twitch. Same username, not anything amazing. But any content is better than none. Vods should be up as well
Architect probably really helps against affinity. I know I've considered it for that reason alone. Turning off signal pests buys a lot of time. and it can always default to a 4 mana draw 1/2 if needed I guess
The problem is. With the exception of mistbind, all your other Fae can be played out on an empty board. Modern is VERY removal heavy, the only reason mistbind really gets away with it is because of blossom. Most lists run what...15 dudes max? That's not enough to safely cast quickling. Period. Maybe if someone went a more midrange build with more faeries(max on scions and glen elandra leiges maybe) it could work. But I'd honestly want at least 20 maindeck faerie CREATURES before even considering quickling. And well, that's just a casual Fae tribal deck. Brutal honesty there, but j doubt a Fae midrange will do much in current modern.
You have to think worst case scenario vs potential upside. Ex. Mistbind, worst case: two for one yourself. Potential: huge beater + time walk/surprise combat.

hooglands been playing a UR(b) build again with bitterblossoms in the side that he says he likes, i think he posted a list on his meadery blog recently.
Idk I've loved tragic slip every time I've seen it in my list, and its a one of. But I'm tempted to drop something(prolly agony warp) for a second. Its so good against affinity, and affinity is gonna be everywhere I think. Lots of strong showings + relative cheapness of the deck(compared to other tier decks) means lots of new modern players will gravitate towards it.
And slip is amazing there. AMD even decent against pod, and in your other creature based matchups....morbid shouldn't be too difficult either. I was advocating slip early on and the current meta seems to be justifying it, IMHO
