Going to have 3 Inquisition of Kozilek tomorrow, so that's something. Debating whether or not I want Thoughtseizes.

Well, Deathrite Shaman just got banned in Modern. I'm steadily thinking Legacy is probably a more secure investment at this point, and likely to be more fun.

Of the things I know are/can be staples for this deck I already have

    1 of each sword

    4 Stoneforge Mystic
    4 Liliana
    4 Confidant
    4 Abrupt Decay
    4 Deathrite Shaman
    4 Hymn to Tourach
    4 Marsh Flats
    4 Verdant Catacombs
    4 Lingering Souls

I'm sure there are other things I can't think of. Obviously, I need wastelands and duals, but what should I pick up first? Will be getting some discard spells with my next paycheck, though which ones I don't know.

Lol so Ashiok is "transgender" now? He has a non-binary gender identity?!! Rofl

Yes, Ashiok does. Ashiok is not male or female, Ashiok is Ashiok. You can refer to Ashiok as he or she, but the reason Wizards refers to Ashiok as Ashiok is that the entire point is for Ashiok to be Androgynous and Ashiok's gender to be irrelevant.

Call Ashiok a she, call Ashiok a he, it doesn't matter, but there's no point in insisting Ashiok is one or the other when the entire point is that Ashiok is not supposed to clearly be one of the other.

Ashiok is probably not trans of course. More likely Ashiok is just without gender/sex.

You need to give a figure for your budget, and what colors you like, at the absolute minimum.

(And just a hint for you before you "yes" for DRS pushing grave based decks out: Scavenging Ooze do it better, so any argument about DRS making grave based decks unplayable is BS)

Yes. Heck, decks that are only using a few Scavenging Oozes right now might run a full playset if Deathrite is banned. That's so much worse for graveyard decks than Deathrite shaman.

Why do people think the Ashiok artwork is of a female??? My lord, do you people live in a *snip* commune?

Beats me. According to Wizards themselves, Ashiok is basically without sex/gender.

    Citation needed.

Too powerfull with Waste Not. I vote the ban of Liliana !

First of all, you're agreeing with yourself, which is already bad form. :p

Second, you haven't shown why you believe that it's overpowered or how it would be broken. How is it more powerful than say, Necrogen Mists, or Cunning Lethemancer would be with it, both of which do basically the same thing for the purposes of Waste Not.

I'm also kinda wondering, lets say you exile a bunch of cards with your first Ashiok and then she dies. When you cast another Ashiok, can you minus right away and use cards exiled from the previous Ashiok? I don't think you can because the second Ashiok doesn't see the first one and what it's done. Anybody know if this is true?

No you cannot. Any cards exiled by the previous Ashiok are exiled 5ever.

Why not the ban of Lilianna ? She look very powerfull with http://i.imgur.com/tk8dlq1.gif
    Waste not from m15

Because it's a $50 card that as of yet is not oppressive, and the format doesn't need more bans. Plus, it's kind of silly to ban a card because of its interaction with something before you know whether it will be remotely broken.

    Quote from Nyzzeh
LOL. If it's played that much it's OBVIOUS it's good. Not just obvious, it's an implicit rule.
NO card that sees a lot of play is bad. NEVER.

Plenty of cards that are bad see play because there isn't a better alternative. Ponder and Preordain are banned, so serum visions is used instead, but as the poster just before me mentioned, it would basically see zero play if those two were unbanned.

This. A lot of votes and posts in this topic (even on skullclamp, my god...) are (irrational) personal preferences without thinking about the effect on the format as a whole. This became very apparent when I saw some people saying MM would have a good effect on modern for example. Lets just be glad the community doesn't make the decisions :p

I would LIKE to see Stoneforge Mystic unbanned. I do not however think it would necessarily be healthy for the format right now, and it probably wouldn't.

Ohhh yusssss. BOOM! In ya face hahaha.

Yes indeed one of the problems of this format is all these blue lovers come from legacy that still think the format should be blue vs everyone else.

Serum visions 6th most played card. Can someone with a straight face say ponder or preordain should be unbanned just looking at this number? The only thing wizards should do about this is printing this card on the 3rd set of the theros block with better art :D.

Yes, they can, because Serum Visions is the 6th most played card because it's one of the best things they have. That doesn't make it good, and a lot of players would probably even say it isn't very good.

Door of Destinies requires you to not only play it, but to play a lot of knights after it to have an appreciable effect. Adaptive Automaton is one mana cheaper, gives +1/+1 to all your other creatures, and counts as a knight himself. Coat of arms costs one mana more, but does far more for the deck than door of destinies, and isn't usually bad unless it's coming up against another tribal deck (though, the 5 mana cost makes it unusable in most scenarios.)

Nykthos would have to replace something like Mutavault, since otherwise, it'll make too many of your lands practically unusable. Even then, it can only be played in mono-white pretty much, and can easily be useless.

It could work, I'm not saying it can't, just saying why I think it may be a bad idea.

Alright, here goes. Sorry if I sound condescending, I'm just being brutally honest:

You need to replace the mutavaults with treetops. You don't need colorless mana unless it's Tectonic Edge or something else.
Done. I called my store and they have 4 treetops waiting for me. I'll pick them up at FNM tomorrow.

Also, I think the 1 cmc hand disruption spells are more important for your deck than liliana. In your deck, you want to be using the 3 mana you have to cast beaters, not disruption. Your kind of deck wants to be more aggressive, and liliana isn't very aggressive.
Will borrow Thoughtseizes and Inquisitions from my cousin until I can pick them up.

You don't need two swords mainboard, and most people wouldn't even want one to begin with. Also, what is your meta like? I will say that sword of war and peace or sword of feast and famine are the best swords in the format right now because the majority of the removal is in those colors, and they have the most impact on the board state. But honestly, I'd highly suggest changing out swords with something else, and there certainly isn't any reason to run your whole sword collection in your 75. If I played a sword, I'd play 1 at most, and it'd probably be in the board.
I was just bored that week, and decided it'd be fun to do for kicks and giggles. I managed to get my swords signed, which kinda makes me want to show them off.

Knight of the Reliquary is not a sideboard card. Either you run 4 main board, or don't play her. You don't get any of the benefits of KotR by playing her in the sideboard.
Yeah, I realized that. For now, I think I'm going to go for the more aggressive build with Smiters, unless someone thinks Knights are stronger walking into an unknown meta? Or if you think the list you posted could perform really well.

Relic of Progenitus is not usually okay for our deck. In your case, it's not bad, but you have lingering souls and DRS, and both of which need at least one person's graveyard. That said, if you need graveyard hate, either play Scavenging Ooze, or Nihil Spellbomb. I know Nihil Spellbomb seems really silly, but I played it in my list for the GPT and was glad to see it when I did against decks like UWR. The thing is you need to keep your graveyard at least for lingering souls and DRS, so you don't want to use relic of progenitus.
I'll keep that in mind. I do want some graveyard hate though, since it got me my first first place win ever when I had to face UWR in the finals.

I would advise against 4 abrupt decay. I like the card a lot, but in modern, there's a lot of **** that doesn't die to abrupt decay. Your meta may say otherwise, but I doubt it.
At my FNM, I honestly seem to keep running up against decks where it matters. I can't remember the last time I went against tron or living end.

And on the topic of meta, is bogle really prevalent enough to be running 4-of back to nature? It's extremely narrow, and playing 4 tells me you are 99% sure you will play against it. If not, you need something else. Edict effects like Devour Flesh and Geth's Verdict are wayyyy better on top of LotV (if you decide to continue to use LotV which I wouldn't do). They can be used against more than just bogle, where as back to nature can literally only be used against bogle.
    Yeah, I'll fix this.

Lastly, I'd recommend either going up a land or adding a couple BoP or Noble Hierarch to your list so you can get those 3 and 4 drops out faster consistently. That actually makes a huge deal in this kind of deck where you need to get big dudes into play sooner or else things like tron and scapeshift will just outrace you by far.
    I'll go up a land.

Looks good to me. I'll pick up anything I don't have tomorrow. This list looks like fun. Grin

So I was thinking what do you guys think about Ghor-clan Rampager in living end?

Not a Living End player myself, but it doesn't seem like it contributes to your game plan enough. The 'cycling' cost is rather prohibitive in terms of colors and conditions.
