Here is my basics. I actually currently only have nonfoil basics to help make the foiled and altered art cards I have in my cube pop more but I have been starting to collect foils to upgrade eventually.

I remember coming across a This or That discussion at some point but don't recall if it was its own thread or not. I was wondering what other people thought about:

Fireblade Artist vs. Slaughter-Priest of Mogis

I keep going back forth and can't really make up my mind. In calibretto's amazing MTGS Average Peasant Cube 2022 thread, Fireblade Artist is vastly more popular (9 cubes vs. 1 cube) but the threat of activation on the Slaughter-Priest seems so useful. I suppose it does open you up to being two-for-one'd if your opponent blocks with what would be a trade, you sac something for first strike and then they have a removal spell.

Anyone else ever consider these two against one another?

I just made another thread for it as it was for sure removed.

It looks like a solid draft. My only thoughts are what is your kill condition? if its just the big creatures often that can be solid but given how many will sub in for land in early turns that is one thing that might be concerning mid game (ie turn 3)

Thankfully Turn 1 kills are very rare as they require a near perfect 7 cards. That said turn 2 kills are currently common enough that they have warranted a few cards be cut from the cube due to power level. I have been messing with the idea of the player on the draw has a treasure that says sacrifice this at the end of turn so they can interact. Still not sold on it but its being tested. If this cube is interesting enough I can always make a separate thread to discuss this in greater detail.

I now have two Cubes at Peasant level (Normal and Turbo) so I will make my includes separate as these have vastly different rules.

    Normal Cube:

Coppercoat Vanguard - I run 55 humans in my normal cube out of 460 cards. I think that I will include the Coppercoat given its a bonus lord effect for the one tribe that constantly gets more creatures and possibilities at peasant.

Feast of the Victorious Dead - I might test this one. Its big downside is that it is kinda do nothing on it's own but it plays well into lifegain, aristocrats, and +1/+1 counters which all are things I keep in mind in Black and White in my cube so its tough but I'll test it.

Outside of that nothing is tickling my fancy for normal cube.

    NOW ONTO TURBO!!!!

So I don't know If I have talked about my Turbo cube before on Sally but the premise is that its a peasant cube where everyone gets an emblem at the start of the game with the following text: "All spells and activated abilities you control cost 3 less." All that said it shifts how I evaluate cards for the cube compared to my normal peasant cube so lets go with my thoughts.

Harnessed Snubhorn: a 2/5 Vigilant creature for W is a decent rate in the cube but the ability is huge in this cube as there is a high density of artifacts in the cube due to the free nature of artifacts spells MV 3 or less. This will likely make the cube.

Campus Renovations: Refurbish + light up the stage for WR feels like a great rate. This one will need to be tested but I think it's worth a spot.

And here I thought I'd have a quiet vacation. Knock it off guys and gals we have been through this before. Trolling and flaming each other is unacceptable. If I have to come back to warn anyone from trolling or flaming this weekend you will be upgraded to a week suspension.

Offtopic chats asking about rarities can be acceptable in separate threads but please keep them out of the general thread.

I am currently working for both sites to help the transition go over smoothly as I know most of the senior staff is leaving as soon as we get Nexus live.

But I will not be one staff her forever as I plan to be fully moving to Nexus as we have a Cube designer planned and it will be an easier one-stop shop. Currently we are getting to start our organization over and make this things cleaner and have better flow. So I hope you all come check it out once it goes live but I will also still be here for the next few months.

    UPDATE:

So if you haven't seen the latest article, there was an 11th hour purchase of the site and it will remain open. To head off any questions....

Yes, the site which Steveman and I have been discussing is still moving forward as planned.

We are still working on the site and we will have more updates on that as we approach release.

I'll let other staff speak for themsleves further on thier thoughts but I see great promise for the New Site and I do get to share this the Name: MTG Nexus. We are trying to create a nexus for all things MTG and one thing I will mention. This has been one of my big requests for our new site are it is currently planned: a CUBE BUILDER.

You heard me right We are planning on creating a cubebuilder which I can't begin to cover how excited I am for this. This means no more needing to link between cubetutor and Sally. We can truly try to be a Nexus for all cube talk. But there are many features we currently have planned most are still in process so I cant speak too much more on them but I wanted to share this with y'all.

As for any users here, I encourage and welcome everyone who helped to make this site the great community it has become to at the very least sign up and check us out.

I've been proud to be part of this community.

This is not the place to be discussing other sites. Recruiting for other sites is considered solicitation and will be interacted as such. Forum rules still apply.
