They still have to pay the commander tax to recast it. The sky is not falling. The game does not suck. You will not lose to Derevi every game you play.
Relax. Breathe.
Yes, some generals are going to be a pain to deal with. Yes, some archetypes will be stronger. The name of the game is adaptation. And if your playgroup feels strongly that this rule change is bad, then you can house rule it never happened.
This is a big shake up as was the legend rule change. Some cards lost playability, some gained. No different here.

HEY!..... okay fair enough some of my writing is absolute ***** but most of it is fairly decent but I also have a publications and written communications minor so that might help.
I wasn't targeting anyone in particular, but when my students were required to write 10-15 pages over the course of a semester long art class it hurt. So much yammering on about nothing, bull*****ting, and the most embarrassing spelling and grammar - and that's coming from me. ME! I don't make sense half the time. -

Elvish Sniper posted a message on [[Official]] General Discussion of the Official Multiplayer BanlistPosted in: Commander Rules Discussion ForumQuote from Xcric »i'd rather they fooled around with maybe taking a few more things off the banned list than adding to it needlessly.
This is how I feel as well. Sure, Prophet of Kruphix is a good card, arguably the best creature in the format right now - but that doesn't mean it deserves to be banned. Whey they unbanned Metalworker and Kokusho, the Evening Star, there were a few people who acted like the sky was falling and the format was ruined, but those cards didn't really change anything. I'd like to see more unbannings. -

Galspanic posted a message on [Offtopic] Community ThreadI started watching Vikings last week and found myself really liking that narrative history. Sure, it's fiction but it's an attempt to tell a true story, so that's cool. I just wish they'd do more of those.Posted in: Commander (EDH) -

I made this thread a couple of years ago which might be helpful. It hasn't been updated in a while, but it is still relevant. -

Lonk posted a message on Threat level check - Edric, Spymaster of Trest as a commander?Nope, Edric only pretends to play fair. If he comes out turn two backed by some evasive fliers, understand that he's is planning to draw a buttload of cards and fast before anyone can block or boardwipe, with the objective of Tangle Wire'ing you on turn four or five, and looping time warp effects a turn or so after that. Prowl = 4 mana Knowledge Exploitation = 4 mana time warp = that player drawing 3+ extra cards on each of his or her turns. Once Edric is out, that player never has to tap out again so long as they've got protection on the board (Sylvan Safekeeper or Eladamri, Lord of Leaves), and a counterspell or two in hand to stop board wipes, because nothing else matters.Posted in: Commander (EDH)
Meanwhile the rest of the table gets caught up drawing cards, and doesn't realize until the second or third consecutive time warp that the game is over and they will never actually get to cast any of them. Either that or surprise Crop Rotation -> Gaea's Cradle -> Craterhoof or Kamahl, or just Beastmaster's Ascension. Seriously, Edric is like Tempt with Discovery with what it does to the board's collective IQ. Don't trust him, or his pilot until his commander is safely on the bottom of his library. And even then, Chord of Calling and Green Sun Zenith will drop him back on the board out of nowhere. -

Wildfire393 posted a message on [Offtopic] Community ThreadSo Tuesday night I went to Magic/Gaming night as usual. When I got home, I decided to leave my cards in my car, because it was drizzling and I was tired.Posted in: Commander (EDH)
Someone took them from my car overnight. All of them. My EDH Cube, Vintage, 2 Legacy lists, 2 Modern lists, 3 casual decks, all of my auxiliary EDH cards, everything. I always lock my car, but they didn't appear to force entry, so it must have gotten unlocked by me sitting on my key or something. Nothing else was taken (including an iPod).
I realized this the next day, freaked out, searched everywhere, contacted all of the LGSs who deal in singles to be on the lookout, etc. Barely slept.
Get a post on the neighborhood website that they'd be found under the bridge underpass on the footpath behind my house. Expect the worst, cards dumped into a puddle when the thief realized they were "worthless". Get to the Community Center where they're being held this morning, and everything appears to be there and undamaged.
So apparently I'm so unlucky that the one night I leave my stuff in the car is the same night that I accidentally unlock it AND the same night that someone decides to go through it AND they only take exactly all of my cards (there was a backpack and a briefcase).
But I'm also so lucky that the thief gets a block away, checks what he's boosted, has no idea what it's worth and just leaves it there, and someone else finds it and turns it in fast enough that no damage is done.
Excuse me while I go have eight heart attacks. -

Over 9000, huh?Quote from ISBPathfinder »Quote from 4Lark »As you might've discovered already, the ignore function is working again. (At least it was since we last mentioned it.)Thank you for the information, ISBPathfinder! I think I'll just have to do without my ellipses and em dashes. It's not worth it to me to bother folks over my love of proper punctuation (especially since we're trying to shut down bots). Still, seeing three periods or two hyphens strung together makes me cringe.
Like I said, its something that should be temporary so hopefully it wont be too inconvenient. Feyd pulled some numbers and there have been over 9000 bots in two months that this temporary filter has essentially put a stop to a large scale spam war we have had with them.
If you encounter anything you feel needs to be removed from the list let Feyd know and I am sure he will do what he can to get it off the list.
