In my meta ive got 4-6 GDS,1-2 Dredge,2 Burn,2 UW Control,2-3 Affinity,2 Merfolk,2 Eldra Tron and 1-2 BGx players.
With this meta in mind would you guys make any drastic changes?
Regarding the mana base i know that Scalding Tarn would be better than Bloodstained Mire but i already own a Playset of Bloodstained Mires and im not sure if irly want to spend 200euro on the PS Scalding Tarn atm.
Hope you guys can help me out.
Personally I'm not a fan of the 2 IoK. My preference is that if I'm running discard, I'd like to ensure I have it early before they become dead draws. I'd prefer a 2nd Brutality and either another spell or threat. That being said, I think Thoughtseize in the board is fine. In fact, if I'm running only 2 discard spells main, I'd rather they be Thoughtseize over IoK. Just my 2-cents on the subject.
Yeah, Young Pyromancer certainly lost some value when Probe got the axe. I may give it another try though since Claim // Fame's been printed. That card looks sweet for this deck; not as good as I think it'll be in Death's Shadow though. That being said, Claim would have Delver, Snappy & YP as juicy targets in our deck. I'm not sure what to cut from my list to make room at the moment.
Blood Moon is a card I've gone back & forth with. I haven't tried the C2D or Ashiok plans yet. The upside of C2D is that it flips Delver and can be flashed back (in theory anyway) with Snappy. I'd be bringing in Ashiok vs Control matches. I'm not sure how it will play out though. I've used Lili before, but found that Izzet Staticaster often does what I want much better and more efficiently. Lili may just be there right/better card, but I'm gonna give ol' Ashy a go once.
Hi all, I've been on Delver for a LONG time now. I've recently cut DS from my main and am considering a few alternatives. Side note, DS used to be in my SB a back when burn was way more prevalent; after the Probe ban, I cut YP & decided to just run DS in the main. I'm finding now that although my list takes a lot of land damage combined with the meta, it's not enough to keep that card in the main. Anyway, I'll post my list here for reference and feedback.
The Crumbles may look odd, but my last GPT I went to my only 2 losses were to the same guy playing Valakut in the first round and in the top 8. There were several Tron and Eldrazi Tron players at that event as well. I used to have 2 GQ there, but they never worked out. Crumble can flip Delver and saves me from having to board in both GQ & Surgical for the same effect. Those match-ups are also why Dreadbore has made it into my main.
@PurpleIntet: As you can see, I run Deprive in my main as well. It's GAS! Nice trick that it also triggers Revolt for Push.
There's also Repel the Abominable as a protection trick. If you want to go even bigger there's Gideon's Intervention too, but that may be going too crazy. It would stop Marvel from being able to cast either Chandra or Ulamog, but we generally go wide enough that the latter card isn't as back-breaking as it is for other decks.
@racing089: Congrats on your 4-0! I dig hearing people having success with this deck. I was wondering though if G is really the right SB splash. I can't argue with the cards you're using for it though. Do you think it would be better to use W for Anguished Unmaking in place of the green cards though? It's on-color regarding Foundry and Canonist too. I get the 3 life for Anguished Unmaking is not irrelevant, but we are running CB & Foundry to help offset that.
All that being said:
@radouf: Are you on an Esper build right now? If so, would you mind sharing your current list?
@racerxen: Would you mind sharing your list? I've been off Standard for a while now, but I'm probably going to jump back in and Zombies seems like a fun deck to play. I've been torn on which version but BW seems better than mono-black. Thanks!
Regarding Kingpin vs Crane, I've tried both before. I ended up going with the Kingpin due to the meta I played in; there were regularly several burn players in attendance. I think it ultimately comes down to your build though. Most of the stuff from the SB that I was looking for weren't artifacts so I had no really reliable way of finding them. Neither Crane nor Tezz would help me dig for my non-artifact spells and worse would put the stuff I was looking for on the bottom of the library.
TL:DR I think if you have a higher number of non-artifact cards you're digging for, use the Kingpin, otherwise go with Crane.
Just to throw my 2¢ into this discussion. I understand the want/need to add a third color. I've been on and off Tezz for some time now but haven't sleeved a Whir version yet. Anyway, I've tried 3-colors in the past and feel that anyone trying to make that work should probably abandon the GQ/mana-denial portion of the deck and concentrate more on the fixing. I think an easy swap is Crucible of Worlds for Chromatic Lantern. This goes a long way in fixing your mana while also pulling double-duty against Blood Moon. Obviously you'll have to figure out your land needs for GQ.
Hi all! I've been lurking here a while and decided to throw my list up here for critique. Like many of you, my primary win condition is the combo, followed by Tezz ultimate with a 5/5 beater back-up. The Sideboard could use some TLc. I'm hoping to get some input from the community on this. Without further ado here's my BUG Tezzeret list:
I decided to try to build this in the style of a Jund list. I cut my 1-drops (discard) for Chalices & am running a similar removal suite. No Terminate sucks, but my other removal can do more than simply kill creatures. Additionally, by going without creatures, Damnation just does some seriously heavy lifting. As for the Sideboard, I'm not sold on Ashiok and am iffy about the Sacraments. (A friend recommended it so I'm giving it a try.) Ashiok might become a Batterskull or Wurmcoil Engine or a...something else...just not sure what.
Anyway, it's late & I'm tired. I don't want to ramble, but I'll happily discuss the deck & card decisions with anyone. I'm looking forward to your input/advice.
Yes they would. How it's played is entirely dependent on board state of course. If I have a fatty, it's more likely to be suited up. The point is that any time EotGR's ability triggers, it does the damage and we'd gain the life. It's a net 0 when we cast spells but we gain 2 whenever they do. If they decide to burn their own dude to stop it, we gain 2 from the spell, save the damage from the spell and get rid of the pest.
I'll throw my 2¢ here on "going deep" to help with the burn match-up. How about Vampiric Link? Getting that on an Eidolon of the Great Revel would be totally back-breaking for them. Worst case would be dropping it on any of there "lesser" creatures which would stop them from attacking with it (for those of you who remember that same tactic with Spirit Link!) If they don't have a decent/any target, then hopefully we do with one of our fatties. I'm thinking of trying it out at my LGS on Monday.

Edit: Have you tried By Force vs Vandalblast? Might work out OK.
