I don't have the possibility to playtest on mtgo (deck too expensive) so I only play the deck on my local game store. Went 3-0-1 with it last wednesday.
Only a draw against Jund.
Ajani is not as bad as it looks, cascading BBE into Ajani is a finisher, or at least a good way to get rid of a planeswalker, and it's good to have planeswalkers for Tarmogoyfs.
I'm happy with the sideboard but maybe it's not good enough against control or deathshadow decks, what do you think ?
I'm ok with you concerning Become Immense, it feels a little out of place, but as a singleton, I think it has the possibility to make me win a few games, I won't play more than one for sure.
Flamewake Phoenix is not only an anti-control effect, it is also very good against abzan (aggro and midrange) and GW Collected decks, I'm still playtesting it but I was playing 3 MD last week, now I'm playing 4
Satyr Wayfinder, as I said, is the reason why I built this deck, it's also a chump blocker and a "manafixer". Even with I "collect" it's okay.
Surrak, the Hunt Caller : maindeck right, it was a sideboard card, but I won so much games with it that I decided to put it maindeck, and I had not enough creatures with 4+ strengh to bring back my Flamewake Phoenix from graveyard
I was able to make day 2 at GP Madrid with the list I posted 2 pages ago, it was a really good weekend.
I finished 125th of 2000 players, I think I was the only infect deck who made day 2.
My 2 loss in day 1 : merfolk (with spellskite maindeck, outch !!!) and jund (I kept a bad hand in game 3 with only one infect creature and have been discarded).
Hi, I'm playing infect for 2 months now, testing for GP Madrid, both in mtgo and irl.
I played in a GP Trial last sunday, and went 7-1, I had the chance to win the 2 byes for GP Madrid.
The only round I lost was to Scapeshift, but I met him again in semifinals and was able to win.
I played against 3 affinity, 1 burn, 1 MonoU Tron, 1 UWR Control, 2 Scapeshift
So the deck is really good, I added a Distortion Strike and an Apostle Blessing 2 weeks ago, it was really a good idea, considering how much chump blockers Affinity gets.
Casting it for 0 against affinity and living end is ok, but if we cast it for 1, we won't be able to cast sunlance, aether vial, path to exile...what do you sideboard in and out in matchs when you play it.
Sorry for my bad english not my main language, thanks for this great topic
My try with Selesnya aggro post Nyx release, I really think Gyre Sage is a good addition to the deck, and allow us to play both Ajani, Mentor of Heroes and Ajani's Presence with maximum efficiency.
Sideboard is not complete.
As it's mentionned in the article, 70% of the top decks play brainstorm. And believe me, in France, people also like to play Storm (just check results of previous bom tournament).
Chains of Mephistopheles is a good card, but there's only one in sb against combo decks, 2 Sotl maindeck and 2 in sb is maybe the way to go if I take the risk to pitch white...
I'm testing it a lot on mtgo for one week, looks really good and fun to play.
Maybe I'm gonna play this deck at Gp Barcelona in 3 weeks.
2 Chandra, Torch of Defiance
3 Karn, Scion of Urza
1 Koth of the Hammer

3 Abrade
3 Anger of the Gods
2 Damping Sphere
2 Dragon's Claw
1 Ghirapur Aether Grid
2 Grafdigger's Cage
2 Sorcerous Spyglass
Good interactions :
I'm thinking about switching 1 Anger of the gods for 1 Sweltering Suns to be more resilient to Meddling Mage
I went 2-3
I mulliganed 4 times to 5 cards, I really don't understand how it is possible to just run 20 lands including 1 dryad arbor and 4 Nexus :/
Some lists are running 21 lands, I think it's better,
what do you think ?
I played infect 4 years ago and the deck was really good (gp day 2 finish) : https://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/modern/established-modern/aggro-tempo/557165-infect?comment=667

Thanks for your reply !
I'm trying to build my own Collected Company deck, and after 2 weeks of playtest (in mtgo and cockatrice), this is the deck I'm currently playing :
3x Satyr Wayfinder
2x Rattleclaw Mystic
4x Flamewake Phoenix
3x Den Protector
2x Boon Satyr
4x Savage Knuckleblade
4x Deathmist Raptor
3x Courser of Kruphix
2x Surrak, the Hunt Caller
Noncreature Spells (10)
4x Collected Company
4x Lightning Strike
1x Icy Blast
1x Become Immense
4x Frontier Bivoauc
4x Wooded Foothills
4x Temple of Abandon
1x Temple of Mystery
2x Yavimaya Coast
2x Shivan Reef
2x Forest
3x Mountain
1x Mana Confluence
3x Hornet Nest
2x Reclamation Sage
3x Arc Lightning
2x Stratus Dancer
3x Encase in Ice
2x Boon Satyr
Satyr Wayfinder : it's the reason why I built this deck, even in late game, it has the possibility to put a Flamewake Phoenix or a Deathmist Raptor in graveyard
Surrak, the Hunt Caller : maindeck right, it was a sideboard card, but I won so much games with it that I decided to put it maindeck, and I had not enough creatures with 4+ strengh to bring back my Flamewake Phoenix from graveyard
Become Immense : I as looking for a finisher, and this card was what I was looking for, easy to cast with Satyr Wayfinder ability, your Den Protector becomes unblockable, and Flamewake Phoenix can come back from graveyard.
Lightning Strike : I tried Mardu Charm and Stoke the Flames but it was difficult to win against aggressive deck (monored and warriors decks), that's why I choosed to play 4 Lightning Strike
Encase in Ice : Plummet and Windstorm are good cards, but some targets can comeback from graveyard (Haven of the Spirit Dragon, Flamewake Phoenix,Deathmist Raptor, etc...)
If you have any advice on how to improve the deck, let me know, I really think this version can kick ass
PS : Sorry for my english, my main language is french.
I would add à secondary Wild defiance MD considering the number of burn/scapeshift/delver decks I met.
And also a singleton bird to curve the deck perfectly.
becoming Immense has been really Good, i'll sure keep il MD (in place of Phytoburst)

do you know a way to beat Jeskai combo decks with infect ? Is nature's claim enough to beat them or do you also need twisted image MD ?
Thanks, I never played against this deck in mtgo or with my team, and I want to be sure to beat it during Gp madrid in one month.

I'm playtesting gw hatebears on mtgo, and I've read the original topic.
I don't understand one of the sb card choice : Chalice of the void.
Casting it for 0 against affinity and living end is ok, but if we cast it for 1, we won't be able to cast sunlance, aether vial, path to exile...what do you sideboard in and out in matchs when you play it.
Sorry for my bad english not my main language, thanks for this great topic
