It's an interesting idea. Unfortunately, I think Wizards will instead go with the plan of Mirage Masters, Mercadian Masters, etc. This way they can slow roll the expensive cards everyone wants and sell more packs in the process.
This is something that frustrates me about Modern. It's strange that a much more broken format like Legacy seems to often have more interaction than Modern.
I wouldn't mind seeing something like Daze introduced into Modern. This would allow tempo decks to tap out and still interact, but it's easier to play around than Force of Will.
I've been impressed with this card in my Grixis Delver list. The modes make it so flexible against so many decks. Being able to destroy artifacts makes it feel like you're almost presideboarding against affinity.
That said, it's unfortunate that it costs 3 to cast, because it's difficult to run more than 2 at a time.
I think it could happen eventually, but maybe once Legacy really starts to go downhill. Otherwise it would just fragment the constructed community too much. Maybe 7 or 8 years from now?
It's definitely good, but I don't see how you run this instead of Jace. Jace protects itself, and Brainstorming is so much better than (sometimes) drawing a card.
In these older formats you can definitely do this if you wish. Especially in Legacy, I find I'll rotate a couple cards in the deck and the sideboard, but besides that, you can keep a deck competitive for a long time.
My least favorite was Mirrodin affinity with Skullclamp. That deck just won so robustly and it felt like no skill was required at all.
Academy era was pretty bad too, but at least that deck felt like an interesting puzzle. There were also lots of other broken cards like Yawgmoth's Will at the same time, so we at least got to choose our broken weapons!
I hope this means that Wizards realizes the mistakes they made with last years incarnation of Duels and fixes them for this release. This is such a great tool for getting new players, I hope Wizards doesn't screw it up!

Must have needed to save money on ink.
