They do have a clause that says they can't use fan sent designs. When I send them I always but a disclaimer saying that I will allow the use of anything I send. Even then they will likely tweak any design they see for safety. Also, it's unlikely that they will use the design, but I just thought it would fit really well in that set.

As for the list, it looks awesome. I REALLY need to test dreadhorde anarchist again. I haven't been playing it because I have been playing a more aggro-control version of the deck with mystic sanctuary. However, I prefer a more tempo style deck so I definitely need to give him a whirl again. I will likely really concentrate on updating the list wen Styxhaven comes out. I'm sure a lot of people will do so, but we all know who the real delver players are Smile

Honestly I can't see anything I would change. It's a bit heavy on counter magic for my personal preference and a bit low on threats. If I had to change anything I would probably add a Vendilion Clique and/or Brazen Borrower and cut one copy of mana leak and/or serum visions. Looks great to me!

Hi all. I am beginning to think that WOTC might use one my designs in a future set. Or at least I am hopeful that they will. I wrote them about two years ago with this design:

    School Student

    U

    Human

Tap: Put the top card of your library into the graveyard. If you have 2 or more instants/sorceries in your graveyard transform Student.

    1/2

    Flipped Side:

    School Graduate

    Human Wizard

    Flying

    3/3

This design gives a great view of a student "learning" and becoming a wizard. It also works great in a tempo deck and isn't crazy in aggro like prowess is. It fits more in aggro-control or tempo. Now that I have read that DFC's will be in the "Stryxhaven School for Mages" set I honestly think they may use the design I sent them. Full disclosure I told them in the email I wanted no payment or acknowledgement if they used the design so I am very hopeful they used it. I gave them several other examples as well of the student learning style flip card. I am very hopeful they utilize it because that would be AWESOME for our deck.

Turntimber Symbiosis has been very good in what few games I’ve tested it. It will take me a little bit to get the right build...I’m playing a full set and it’s upper interesting. I can see how Amuket Titan is gonna love them (as bouncing them makes them even better). May try my old Curio list (that was less Walker—centric) and awesome how that plays.

What would everyone like to see in the mythic DCF green land?

    1. Creature?

    2. Overrun Spell?

    3. Creature Tutor?

I assume it will a 7-mana ramp spell, or life gain, or an overcosted tutor...something that isn’t super useful at its cost...but that may still be playable given the opportunity cost. We shall see! I was just interested in the community’s wish list of options before the card is spoiled.

My dream is that it will be a (7+-mana, vaguely overcosted) creature, almost purely for the ability to Summoner's Pact for a land that can tap for mana the turn I play it (admittedly in less fair decks). Wizards may already have figured out this possible scenario and therefore have made it an instant or sorcery instead.

that would have been incredible. there is still a chance that the rare will be a creature...but the problem there is is doesn’t come into play untapped (unless they allow for some expense to do so...but that’s doubtful).I still think the mythic is strong enough to see play in the right deck types though.

I play Green Devotion; and I think this is strong I’m the creature-centric versions. Yes it’s not a spell we would normally play (as there are better options); but having the ability to play it as a land early and a spell when we flood is a big deal. I will test it out (as these are tough to evaluate) but I was pleasantly surprised by this.

    It’s here!!!

    Turntimber, Serpentine Wood

I think it’s great. More than I expected actually.

I will be trying it as a 3-of in the creature-heavy build i have and then seeing where the sweet spot is (3, 2, maybe even a full set, etc.).

As a Green Devotion player, I like it. Smile

for cubes...I think the mythic lands are fun. Would you play the entire cycle, or just 1-2 of them (like the green and red)? My brother and I have a slightly different cube than most...but I’m interested in seeing what people think.

Crawling barrens is unplayable since it takes at least 4 turns to win (the deck is about one-shotting), it's just air. So is Blast zone unless it's 22nd land, because you mulligan often enough when you don't have forest.

Interesting points. Thanks for posting! We need to get some discussions going in here again.

I don’t know if I 100% understand the 4-turns to win point (I likely misunderstood you)...but isn’t that like saying “Kessig Wolf Run is unplayable. It requires 17+ mana just to win the game...”.

I agree with your point about ramp being more of a “build to your big play” style deck though (and Wolf run is a better 1-time/1-turn sink); but (a) it is not a threat on its own and (b) I was referencing mono-green decks not splashing red. Even in such a deck; it would be more of a plan C when games were grindy.

Even though we build to generally win in one big turn; there is a reason most Devotion decks play interaction (Primal Command, Karn THC, Trinisphere, toolbox/hate creatures in Pact decks, Hornet Queen, etc...). Our games often don’t play out like a goldfish’d game. There will be times where you just want to be able to sink your mana into something because the game is going long and the opponent has answers to your board. Having a land that can also act as a threat And can mitigate flooding to some extent can be huge. This, however, is only if (and as you’ve said, it is a big if) you can deal with the cost/downside of playing a colorless land. (P.S. i know you know this...i often write to make sure include/inform those new to the archetype)

I have got a lot of use out of Blast Zone; but I also don’t run BTE or Selkie (and you are absolutely right that in most decks running BTE you really can’t afford anything but green sources on turns 1 and 2.)

You are right that the upside of a non-tapped mana-sink threat may not be worth the additional mulligans And issues that come from a non-green (and a non-Forest) land is a big one.

The good news is we may have an even better option coming up!! Let’s just all hope the green mythic MDFC is bonkers Smile

If I were a betting man; I’d say the green mythic land dFC will be (a) the weakest by a mile and (b) will be an over-costed “win more” ability/creature. They know the one color that could really take advantage of such a land is green; so they will play it super safe.

Having said this, Even just a decent spell or permanent (it would be nice if the green one ended up being a creature) would likely still be playable. The power of having a card that can be a turn 1-2 Green, untapped source AND a spell later in the game to sink our mana into would be great. Again, its not a Forest so we likely can’t play a set of them xzAnd ilikely will be formatted a little like a “win-more card”; but a boy can dream.

Crawling Barrens may be worth a slot in Mono-Green decks. May not want it and Kessig Wolf Run, but certainly worth it in mono-green. I've been liking Blast Zone, however...so I'm not sure how many non-green slots I can get away with Smile

So my deck is pretty boring (as it runs Karn just like everyone now...but I will say I was VERY early on Karn because it grabbed my Cloudstone Curio...)but it has been performing well.

i think I am going to play it on MTGO (as it feels like it is currently in a good spot). I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Hey so I was looking up decks with Planebound Accomplice and I see that some people were trying to go infinite with mana producing Walkers, like Chandra, ToD and Garruk Wildspeaker and Cloudstone curio. This reminded me of CurdBros’ lists. Then I thought maybe there’s a green devotion list running accomplice that could be an option. Perhaps just a R/G list.

it’s a very cool idea. I’m not certain if it adds enough to the combo to make it worth it; but it’s worth a shot! I’ll test it out.

I’ve been playing my combo list more lately. I always make the mistake of trying to get too interactive (although the printing of Karn went a long way in those terms) so I’ve streamlined it a bit.
