The discussion in this thread is giving me hepatitis, but this card might actually be legacy playable? If marsh casualties becomes more popular I could absolutely see this as a Death and Taxes card in the right meta. It competes with Mirran Crusader, as I think 4x Flickerwisp is pretty much untouchable at the 3 drop spot.
And at uncommon - surely a Limited standout. Whelming Wave on a body that also likes Merfolk. Possibly a buddy for Lorthos in Commander? In any case nice to see the "sea creatures tribal" theme in yet another context.
Ten Mana? Only in a dedicated ramp deck. Getting 10 lands in play means getting to turn 15 or something in the average limited game.
Divest seems like a card that i'm always going to want to put into my sideboard but it's never going to actually be quite good enough. In standard it should probably make the cut a % of the time.
It's a strong card, I just really loathe this self-exile clause WOTC has been enamored with lately. Shuffle it back into the deck instead. I HATE exile.
This should please the many Yawgmoth Vorthos fans. Not my thing, but I am all about old characters showing up. I really think he's getting a card this year too alongside legit Urza and Serra.
I love following up a board wipe with assemble the legion. Not the most powerful, but if it can't be answered it gets out of hand really quick, and my meta doesn't pack as much enchantment hate as they should. Also it's sweet.
I like these. Not a slam dunk like the Enchantment-creature frames (which were brilliant in their subtlety) or the devoid frames, but definitely better than the Aftermath frames and the Invocations.
As far as the card goes, I could see it at mythic or rare, but mythic seems rare. Dripping with flavor, potential one sided wrath... I would place it at rare but mythic certainly isn't egregious.
I'm a little bummed out about them slowing down previews, but I think it's actually smart. When ONLY the text leaks, spoilers are still very exciting. Throwing us one spoiler every 1-2 days (like they did today) would be a nice compromise imo. Hoping they do that.
Possible theory: maybe there will ve miltiple versions of the card with slightly different text?? That would actually be kind of funny, if all versions are ALMOST the same but have some key differences that make them play very different. That would fit the joke that no one can remember the exact wording of cryptic command
Compared to previous Un-sets this seems "less fun to look at" but it might be "more fun to play." While the former makes spoiler season less fun, the latter will obviously make me spend more money on it.
It seems the goal was slightly more meta than previous un-sets... I have a feeling the gameplay is going to be wacky and bizarre and fun even if some of the cards are not.
A card like this shouldn't be uncommon. But at least it's back.
Eh. Open fire was either definitely or arguably the best common in Hour depending on who you ask. So it makes sense that lightning strike is at uncommon. It's not like its going to be expensive for constructed, there are about a billion of them out of the open market already.
My exact thought was: "Oh sweet so she's like Planeswalker Steve Irwin"

But yeah it's a cool card.
While I doubt it would have been too powerful without the exile clause, wizards has been putting the exile clause on cards that let you cheat permanents into play without paying their mana costs or recur multiple cards or otherwise clearly have the potential to do busted stuff for 20+ years.
After all, the best jokes are the subtle ones. I'm just going to assume it's fake so they can't say they got me.

It's easy to implement, and could be the official version of "Frontier" in a few years.

Seriously, that's a clause added by development if I've ever seen one.
