Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary
I loved how broken he was. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
What have you been playing? Did you move to the 4c version with Thrasios? Or just a different deck entirely?
+4 Kalonian Tusker
Seems like the color restriction is actually just nothing to you. Your splash color is W so hitting GG or GW on turn 2 will result in you getting a 3/3 for 2.
I'd also agree that making 3 1/1's (and having your enchantment make them 4/4's) seems a lot better than dropping fatties and making them "fattier". Maybe take some of the enchants out and add Raise the Alarm/Secure the Wastes/Elspeth, Sun's Champion/Garruk, Primal Hunter or some other token guys. You could go purely Instant/Sorcery/Enchant tokens and use Timely Reinforcements, Hunting Triad, Nissa, Voice of Zendikar and other Token & +1/+1 counter stuff (as counters get around the Muraganda clause, also the reason Intangible Virtue wouldn't work)
Avenger of Zendikar is always a beating, you could run a Craterhoof Behemoth to finish the game quickly as well. Might of Old Krosa and the other pump spells could work but it seems like you'd need to give them Trample to finish someone off, so David Hasslehoof would seem like your best 1-of big drop.
Springjack Pasture
Rhys the Redeemed
Myr Battlesphere
Lot's of directions for you to go, but the obvious includes swapping something out for the tusker, adding a Craterhoof Behemoth to Berserk your creatures and Trample your opponents. Then think about if the deck would be better with a token and +1/+1 theme, or if big vanilla guys without evasion are still doing the trick.
EDIT: Heroic Intervention seems like it's too good to pass up in your deck as well. Save all your creatures, or just save one of them, or stop your enchantments from bouncing/being destroyed, save your creatures from Wildfire or lands from Obliterate/Armageddon... all for 1G! Even though your creatures would lose the pump from Muraganda it'd only be until EOT and the upside this card gives your deck is extreme. You are running white though, so Brave the Elements is also in your wheelhouse, but Heroic Intervention just seems bonkers with your deck's variety. It'll save all your win conditions from anything except an exile that doesn't target, or Languish/Diabolic Edict-type effects.
Basically we need to decide if threshold is worth it, if we're going all in on Valakut or using fetches to fill the yard for delirium/threshold.
EDIT: Manamorphose basically durdles but it helps thin 4 cards out of our deck and put an instant in the bin for delerium (it also draws). Purphoros, God of the Forge seems like great option delirium, and adding a finisher or just extra damage. Pyrostatic Pillar, Uphill Battle, Eidolon of the Great Revel are all good for the enchantment slot as well.
+4 Thalia's Lieutenant
+2 Inquisition of Kozilek
+1 Mutavault, Gavony Township, or a fastland/handland.
We could throw some non-humans in the deck simply because they are awesome.
Wild Nacatl comes to mind if you're going naya.
Bant is one way to take it, but you miss out on all the disruption and removal that black brings, along with BoB's card draw. Time to make him good again. Throw in Gather the Townsfolk maybe.
^this, relax and take a chill pill and wait for Tamyo's new card in EMN
You could also run that human deck in another direction and add some of the soul sisters pieces (as they're all humans) and go for counters, lifegain, stomping and board control with Dromoka's Command, Gavony Township, Collected Company, Soul Warden, Soul's Attendant, Ajani's Pridemate, Felidar Sovereign etc...
YET ANOTHER WAY!! Add blue/black, run esper human control. Snapcaster Mage, Restoration Angel, whatever the expensive version of Chittering Rats is etc...
As others have said, I believe B to be necessary in building a vampire deck. BR is not hard to put together or run successfully (even on a budget) thanks to the Tangolands (Smoldering Marsh) and the new Handlands (Foreboding Ruins). If you have shocks (Blood Crypt), fetches (Bloodstained Mire) even better! Toss in some Mutavault's for good measure. But not running black misses you out on SO many things you would want in any deck. Like Chainer's Edict, Thoughtseize, Inquisition of Kozilek, Kalastria Highborn, Viscera Seer (your 1-drop vamp) and many others. Not to mention you get access to Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
You could also take it another way and play Serra Ascendant with some of the Soul sisters as well. Might actually be better than soul sisters....
The "Base" should look something like this
4x Cavern of Souls
x Mutavault
X Utility land (Slayers' Stronghold, Gavony Township etc..)
1 Coat of Arms or other Anthem effect
X AEther Vial
X Dark Confidant
X Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
X Thalia's Lieutenant
X Champion of the Parish
Soldier of the Pantheon
Mayor of Avabruck
Timely Reinforcements
Mutagenic Growth
Vines of Vastwood
Mikaeus, the Lunarch
Bear Umbra for a "finisher"
Hyena Umbra if you just want the protection
The real question is... do we add blue for tricks? Or stick with Green for stability?
Delver of Secrets
Snapcaster Mage
Honestly speaking, if it's modern we're after, I'd probably go the creature/aggro route because active gameplans are better. Another take on the deck could be a tempo/midrange with blue added. The blue humans all seems to support the lategame.
