The eminence abilities we have now are nothing to really complain about and kinda surprised to see them get so much hate now. I mean, I get it feels psychologically annoying that an opponent has an advantage that you can only remove by taking control of it from the battlefield or bouncing it (Or resorting to Mind-slaving and exiling their commander) but like, it's for the most narrow and casual of things.

Ur-Dragon and Arahbo are for meme tribes that will never, ever be taken seriously. (Cries into my Ur-Dragon playmat)

Inalla and Edgar are the most pushed but still far from the most annoying thing even in casual.

M'Odo doesn't count he's your typical stupid fan designed card that one person actually happens to physically own.

Honestly though I'd rather see something new rather than Eminence, but I don't hate it or outright consider it a blight to the format. We've seen how pushed something made for commander can be and none of the current eminence bearers are close to it.

    Ok it's official now.

I'll say I won't really call it an Ur-Dragon staple due to its triple red cost and requiring support to even doing anything. I'll still give it a try because I always did like Glorybringer a lot and it gives me an acceptable Wild Pair partner with Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund.

I just appreciate that hilariously over the top dragons can still exist after like, 2 years of constant draft/standard finishers. Needed something to remind me of the stuff like Crimson Hellkites and Dragon Tyrants that made me want to make them work in the first place.

Finally a dragon Zirilan can get excited about! I've gotten so tired of these standard-oriented 5-drop dragons.

God, me too. I mean at least Glorybringer and Thundermaw Hellkite have EDH potential but stuff like Skarrgan Hellkite and Verix Bladewing are boring and underwhelming in every possible way once your draft games are over. Granted Drakuseth is likely better in your Zirilan than my The Ur-Dragon I just still appreciate seeing a stupidly splashy dragon again after all this time.

It's about time we got a dragon that was just hilariously over the top after all these bland draft bombs that are nothing else. The lack of haste and the triple red make me unsure if I'd actually include it in an edh dragon deck but I will at least adore everything about it in my dragon collection.

Honestly you don't need red. Like, you get to add Ulasht, the hate seed to your deck and...maybe Apocalypse Hydra and that's about all I would consider. Hydras should be Simic if anything because you might as well enjoy the full wonders of big mana.

Sadly missing lands. (I understand why not enchantments.)

What do you mean sadly?! 3 mana instant speed land destruction pffft these days it would have to cost 5 mana and be a sorcery if it hit lands without replacing them with a basic. Heck even in the old days they knew better than to make sinkholes and stone rains instant. Wrecking Ball is like, the best we will probably get for that.

Double black makes the cost a bit more annoying but it's a pretty decent piece of spot removal overall. Exile though is being pushed to the point where I fear someday targeted destruction will be a thing of the past.

I have the Roon issue with Yarok in that I can guess the opponent's entire deck the moment I see Yarok in the command zone. I can also guess it's gonna have some really annoying things in it like Venser, Shaper Savant, Acidic Slime, Deadeye Navigator...

If you can't afford a Scroll Rack this can do a bit of work in a Daretti, Scrap Savant deck if you can at least afford a Sensei's Divining Top. Just a harmless colorless option for kitchen table decks in desperate need of card draw.

Chandra is so nonchalant about having the potential to searing wind an opponent and all they hold dear.

Also Sorin's face would pretty much be mine if someone pulls that ult off on me.

Great now Kaalia of the Vast can send V-13 to whack me.

So I take it this entire cycle is gonna be super Timmy iconics. Please let red's be a legendary better Dragon Tyrant. Please let red's be a legendary better Dragon Tyrant...

I love her from a character design standpoint but never in all my years of EDH have I never seen this still very widely used card do much of anything. Maybe make people sac a token or a thing they wanted dead anyways and then all the sudden she's exiled long before her controller gets to revive a creature. She just bothers the entire table way too much to live longer than 10 seconds. I want to say she's definitely one of the most overrated cards in all of kitchen table magic but that would imply that she's inherently a bad card which is far from the truth.

As cool as I find her overall, I'd rather just accomplish everything you'd hope she would do all at once with a single card at a cheaper mana cost: Living Death.

At this point I'm expecting red's legendary to literally be blue-eyes white dragon. Complete with being a 3000/2500.
