That's why I believe in seizing victory when you can. I'm all to familiar with "the comeback", especially as a fighting game fan.
"Oh man things are not looking good for Daigo. All he has left on the field is tapped lands, Finest Hour and Rafiq of the Many while Justin Wong has enough mana to recast Thraximundar and swing for lethal! Justin Wong taps his mana and is recasting Thrax this is over!
NO WAIT! DAIGO HAS JUST PITCHED A STORM CROW TO COUNTER THRAX WITH FORCE OF WILL! NOW DAIGO'S STILL IN THE GAME AND THERE'S NOTHING THAT CAN GET IN THE WAY OF DAIGO'S RAFIQ!"
*Crowd erupts*
"DAIGO WINS IT! DAIGO WINS IT!"

tap: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool
tap: Add one colorless mana to your mana pool (You know, in case you are running a colorless commander in EDH too)
Braids, Conjurer Adept
Well, to put it simply I always thought Braids was kinda cute. The legal general version can also be hilarious to play against assuming one of my friends is not the only person who uses her in an artifact, enchantment, and shapeshifter deck that bends and breaks the rules of magic the gathering to turn the game into a crazy bizarro land.
Damia, Sage of Stone
You know I have a lot of fun trolling with a commander when I have a friend that actually encourages me to borrow his Damia deck when he feels like taking a break from playing.
Phelddagrif
"Since when was Phelddagrif the master of destruction?!"
Too bad absolutely nobody trusts me when Phelddagrif is my commander, resulting in me using him less often because I rely too much on the element of surprise.
Teams are usually best though when all players are on around the same level of playing. It sucks when there is an oddball thats a lot better or worse than the rest of the group for teams.
True, but in my experience these people generally ask to play in teams because they are using boring decks that naturally get them targeted by the table so they want to alleviate that "problem".
* Players that ask to play the game in teams. No, your boring as heck control deck deserves no allies, only enemies and we will not play in a rule set that changes things away from your unfavorable situation.
* Sensei's Divining Top. I have yet to meet a player that didn't test my patience with this wretched card.
If you want to go mono blue, Azami, Lady of Scrolls would probably be your best bet for what you are aiming for due to her ridiculous card draw potential.
I don't think there is a commander that doesn't have the potential to leave a negative impression on any playgroup.
Hell, a friend managed to make Boris Devilboon into something that demands the archenemy treatment lest we all suddenly die or have the game forced into a draw.
I love how the Cruel Ultimatum art makes it look like Nicol Bolas just slapped Sarkhan Vol. Probably because his "The Mad" version accidentally killed itself by drawing Nicol Bolas' planeswalker card.
I won't deny I have my share of powerful cards, but not a whole lot of them and I'm kind of a cheapskate so I usually have the least powerful deck in my group. I try to overcome my deck disadvantage by letting the power players keep each other's board states and combos in check. I participate just enough to not make my scheme obvious, while still holding onto my deadly secret weapons. Ideally, I find an opportunity to finish my board when everyone else exhausted each other's supply of removal and counters.
The reaction to successful implementation of this strategy is a lot of laughter and compliments. Granted they know I do this and try to keep their eyes on me, but it's hard to focus on me and my playing around with wee little support creatures when someone cheats an eldrazi god into play.

Mythic Rare
Her ability rarely ever fails to entertain.

Jor Kadeen, the Prevailer
It was love at the first casting of Bludgeon Brawl.

Of course we're gonna have a dragon or two in Theros. I hope they will compliment Scourge of Valkas nicely.

Lol, that's happened many times in my life.
Legendary Creature: Human Wizard
Targets for spells and abilities are selected at random.
Whenever a player plays a non-land permanent, control of that card is gained by a random player.
Whenever control of a permanent that's been in play changes, the player that has control of that permanent is reselected at random.
4/4
What you do instead is Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, Kormus Bell, and Final Judgment because what else would be left to complain about.
