Why is Chrome Mox still banned?

It doesn't fit into any of the current top decks. Phoenix, Dredge, Humans, Spirits, Death's Shadow, Hardened Scales, Tron, UW control, Amulet, Rock, Jund, Burn, Whir Prison.

The only deck it fits into is Ad Nauseam, and even there its awkward and probably worse than Spirit Guide. So can someone explain this to me? Are there any decks I am forgetting?
Chrome Mox makes Modern Belcher a thing, and nobody wants that. Even if it wasn't for Belcher, think about what that card does. Fast mana only speeds decks up, and the decks that would most want something like this are fast combo decks. Does Modern really need to be faster and even more unfair than it currently is? No, it does not. So Chrome Mox would not be a good card to put into Modern.

I don't buy the argument that Belcher suddenly becomes playable with Chrome Mox. It's still a glass-cannon deck, much like Griselbrand combo and Cheerios. These type of strategies tend to mulligan terribly and fold to commonly played sideboard effects
We are at a point in Modern where free mana is considered offensive (and for good reason IMHO). Mox Opal, according to a previous announcement, is on the "watchlist) for a potential ban. Why on earth would they unban the best free mana artifact available in the modern cardpool if they find Mox Opan offensive?

Am I the only one who feels, that WAR is a little bit pushed? There are already so many modern relevant cards spoilered so far, I honestly dread what this + Horizon will do to Modern. My bet atm is: Modern will be a mess for a long period of time (cause people will need to figure again the format out).

    Greeting,
    Kathal
Well, why is that a bad thing? Most cards (so far) seems relatively fair, and people have been complaining for a while about the Phoenix meta (although it seems to me like it is settling and things will be fine). It's ok to have a non-artificial shake up (as in no bans/unbans) and see where we are going from there in 6-8 months. Hopefully this will also stop the ban/unban discussion for a while as it has become extremely stale.

What are you guys talking about? This Bolas ROCKS! Comes in at a reasonable casting cost, protects himself, draws cards while discarding opponent cards (or even exiling permanents if they don't have cards) and his ultimate says "win the game". Also, Play him alongside Jace, 2 brainstorms in 1 turn.

If this Bolas is real, well, welcome back my sweet sweet Grixis deck <3

This discussion about DTT being fair is kind of puzzling to me. Can anyone think of how bloody powerful UR Phoenix would be with DTT?!

An interesting article of Jeskai control by Shaheen Soorani: http://www.starcitygames.com/articles/38447_From-Izzet-Phoenix-To-Jeskai-Control.html

I like his ideas about 2 Spell Snare and running the full 4 Surgical and Field. However, I've been trying to cram 4 Field of Ruin in my Jeskai lists for a while now but the mana always seems shaky; in that list too there are only 11 red sources, and at some point the percentage you gain over UW because of access to Helix will just be undone by all the extra land damage you take. I think that if you want 4 Field of Ruin it might be right to just play 26 lands.

I also loathe Settle the Wreckage and 4 mainboard wraths seems excessive
Basically I agree with you. At the point where you are cutting almost all bolts and basically you are splashing red to play 4 Helix, maybe you shoudl reconsider your options.

I love 4 Field of Ruin but it is really tough on the mana base. Heck, sometimes it is even hard for UW decks!

However Spell Snare is in a great position atm and I think we should play it more in any type of control.

What’s with Amulet Titan’s performance at SCG? The deck put 2 copies in the top 8 in Philadelphia, yet was completely absent in the top 32 of both GP Bilbao and Tampa.

There are a few "known" Amulet players that play in SCG tournaments, like Daryl Ayers for example. It's much tougher to top 8 an SCG Open than a Grand Prix and I'm not sure many of those Amulet players actually played in the GPs.

Amulet is the kind of deck that really rewards playing for a long time. I think many of the SCG grinders have indeed done so, in easier competition. I am surprised that Edgar Magahaes didn't top 32 those GPs; maybe he didn't play?
SCG Opens are tougher to top 8 than GPs? The narrative in this thread has been the opposite for years with people calling SCGs "glorified FNMs" (not that I agree with that mind you). I would like to know your perspective on that

I do think we'll also see something that rivals Tarmogoyf as a 2 drop creature that can start off large and get larger if certain conditions are met that require some build around... This is my best guess:

    Domainogoyf 1G (M)

    Trample
Domain-- ~ gets +1/+1 for each basic land type amongst lands you control.

    1/1

This would force a deck to be 3-5 colors, but potentially a large payoff on turn 2 or 3. That creature is meant to just be an example, although I think it would be a fair card.
I think it should be */* so you won't be able to play if off of non-fetchable lands, or */1* like Tarmo, so it still has no impact if you play it without fetching.

I have a hard time understanding how 3 mana removal is in any way relevant or playable in Modern.
It's an 1 mana remove ANY permanent. 3 mana "stone rain"s are still relevant (e.g. Fulminator Mage). Vindicate is a 3 mana catch all, a MB answer to Tron, artifacts, enchanments etc.

Now, I am not saying it's too powerful for Modern, I actually think it would be fine. But it would DEFINITELY be relevant. There is no way it would not see play, especially if the format remains so open wide to any and all permanents.

Something no one has said: moment's peace. Don't know if it would see play, maybe on RUG scapeshift.
I've proposed it quite early in the Thread. I think it would be great to have it in the format.

    or would play it anyway.

I have a foil/promo deck that cost me thousands of dollars and two years to put together. Whether I like the format or not, I'm playing that deck because it would be a complete and utter waste not to. I probably get more enjoyment out of simply looking at my opening hand than I do actually playing most rounds of Magic these days.
I was referring to the people who voted option #3
