Human seems to be the best deck for this Pro Tour/Mythic Championship. Looks like 3 copies at least in the top 8.

Tron dethroning UR Phoenix for day 1 metagame share! 15% tron, 12 UR Phoenix, 10% Humans, 7% WU Control the most represented decks! Looks like a very healthy D1!

Those who say "I can't take LSV and Matt Nass seriously" clearly haven't seen the video. Not that I agree with them necessarily, but they arguments are much more nuanced that "Free Twin, keep SFM banned". Just dismissing them like they said nothing is not really constructive.

I think Tyrant's Scorn is an option. I see could see it used plenty in the GDS match because it covers everything. It's obviously not an overwhelming inclusion but options are good until we get something more universal (here's to hoping).

Interesting that you play a Dreadship Reef. You don't have any issues keeping it with things like Field of Ruin being fairly common in decks?
Dreadship Reef is the most old-school tech I've seen in a while

Slightly more expensive green sun zenith, but can get any color creature and from the yard as well.

Was down on this card until I realized it read AND/or. You can get two creatures. If modern slows down to where fair green creaturedecks don't die on turn 3 anymore it might have some potential, although Sorcery speed probably means Chord of Calling is better.
Nope, you can't get two creatures. It reads "Search your library and/or graveyard for A creature". The and/or means that you can search your library, search your graveyard and then decide.

    Holy MonoU Tron!

Don't think I'll play this in mono U tron. I will, however, play the new Karn.
Why not? With 4 of these you can basically chain them into drawing most of your deck AND having untapped lands

I feel that the whole debate on Dovin's Veto might incline us to pack some discard again. I have been waiving them in the past, but right now I feel that some Inquisitions (or even Duress in the SB) might bring some benefits. IN addition, these cards IMO represent the black color identity pretty well, so I enjoy playing them.

Oh and on the Countersquall matter: I am currently running Gods_Shadow's list including Squalls and Ionize main. The damage really adds up and can net you a not-so-insignificant amount of wins in combination with bolts and creature beats (especially Obstructionist being a flying Lightning Bolt).
I think the main question to ask in regards to discard and being mainly B is why not go towards the Death's Shadow road then? What are the advantages of going midrange without DS?

I think the question at hand, for the UW match, is how do you combat against Teferi, Time Raveler's static ability? And second, but maybe more importantly, how are you landing non-creature threats through Dovin's Veto?

Bolas is great once he's on the table, I don't think anyone will contest that, but you're not getting him into play as long as Veto is in their hand.
I don't think the 3 mana Teferi will see play, it doesn't do enough in the current meta. Regarding Dovin's Veto, we would have to rely on discard.

I am surprised with the lack of Serum Visions + Think Twice in Terminus lists..

In my experience, it's better than Opt because Visions lets you dig deeper and put Terminus on top.. with 3 Think Twice and 3 to 4 Visions you are more likely to hit Terminus on opponents turn than with 4 Opt which is just luck if you hit the sweeper.. I mean, it's much easier to set it up..

The problem with SV is that you might draw Terminus on your turn and then you can't cast it.

Think Twice digs exactly the same as Opt, but is more expensive in exchange for a card. I would rather pay 1 mana and have the scry option to get another chance at hitting Terminus on my opponents turn, rather than have 2 takes over 2 turns which would cost me 5 mana. Overall, Opt is just better at hitting Terminus.

I find it funny how they worded the new edict surpassing leyline of sanctity in bogles. Intentional?
I think probably they first wanted to make it commander relevant (and maybe a multiplayer arena format?) and then Leyline was a happy accident.

The new modern metagame break down from GGG is up: https://goodgriefgames.wordpress.com/2019/04/02/modern-snapshot-april-2019-2/?fbclid=IwAR1Y4MuaKdYLZjhtD6MWc5mSnRZO-BfEReaY9KeaxuKw2DhUOgY5Zf0aj28

Some interesting stuff: Phoenix is best, we know that. Two fair decks among the top 4 decks (BG midrange and UW control). Metagame seems relatively settled at the moment, which will favor control players who are willing to investigate the meta.

Is there a way to get an infinite loop with Karn, the Great Creator and Ugin's Nexus? Not that it would be viable, but in theory.
Well you would need a way to reliably get +2 counters on Karn every turn without activiating his +1 loyalty ability, find a way to sacrifice an artifact every turn (for the Nexus), and constantly have more than 5 mana so you can do something with your infinite turns. I don't think it is very likely, and if it is, it's probably a 5+cards combo

I'm gonna reveal my age here...

Back when Mirrodin block was first released, people thought Chrome Mox was bad because you ran few colored spells. It was not, it was worth it to adjust the deck to gain fast mana. You could literally take a block deck into extended and win tournaments. Oh, and that's ignoring the part where chrome mox automatically makes mono red prison a legit deck and not an occasional meme in modern.
I mean, also revealing my age but, from what I remember from mine and surrounding LGSs, none ever thought Chrome Mox was bad, it was the chase card in all prereleases.

What is up with the return of the edict effects?!

    Angrath's Anger:
    BR
    Sorcery
    Choose one -

    * Target player sacrifices an artifact.

    * Target player sacrifices a creature.

    * Target player sacrifices a planeswalker.
