This is great card and an interesting thought... Will it make a big splash outside of EDH though? It's definitely going in my Maga, Traitor to Mortals EDH.

So after seeing everything spoiled, I gotta say, I think the 2011 Commander decks were better. Mostly because I was hoping to see more, new 2 color generals, Edric, Spymaster of Trest and company were some of the best cards from the 2011 release. I'm not complaining though, these decks look great.

So what do people think is going to be the Scavenging Ooze of this release?

No need. Mycosynth Lattice + Darksteel Forge + Nevinyrral's Disk already works nicely.

Wow! This is very good! Its going into my Saffi Eriksdotter deck at the very least, every EDH deck I have that runs green at the very most.

I suppose you're right. I just remember the last time I looked at Demonic Tutor, it was less than it is now.
I have no idea what the Commander Sol Ring went for when it first came out. I didn't need any because one came in each deck. On that note, I'm excited for the new ones, the last ones were such a great value. Thank you Wizards for mass producing these and letting chain stores have them! Grumble grumble Modern Masters grumble grumble.

This could easily be wishful thinking. You could tone it down a bit with Idyllic Tutor, Demonic Tutor, Green Sun's Zenith, Buried Alive and Mystical Tutor though.


Edit. One of these things is not like the other...Buried Alive doesn't measure up to the others. Also, Demonic Tutor is worth more than I realized, I thought the duel deck reprint brought it down more. I guess with the EDH explosion it went back up? You could replace Demonic with Diabolic Intent and Buried Alive with Gifts Ungiven to keep the values more in line with one another.

I don't think we'll see a bestow card with no mana cost, it would be broken with cascade.
I think we could see Serum Visions, Preordain no, but Serum Visions would be fine IMO.

Also, I agree with the legendary Pegasus idea. What would it do though? If it wanted to take from Greek myth, it would have to tap to search for an island or let you search for a lightning bolt or something. Both of these ideas seem implausible though. It's more likely it would give target human +2/+2 and flying. Whatever it does, it should totally have protection from chimera :).

I really like both of these ideas. How about this for Naya:
Naya Pack Leader W/G/R
Trample
When Naya Pack Leader comes into play put X +1/+1 counters on it where X is the amount of mana paid to play NPL, then search your library for a creature card with power less than or equal to the number of counters on NPL and put it into your hand.

I figure they'll go Esper artifacts as well. Do you think they would include any infinite/instant win combos? I can't recall if the original Commander decks had any. It doesn't seem like something they would do since a lot of people consider such things unfun. There are still tons of fun little, machine-like interactions though. I actually like that Wizards kept the original decks somewhat powerful and competitive but not bonkers.

On different note...what's Grixsis going to look like? Maybe multi-mill with a side of reanimator? Perhaps creature/spell stealing? Things like swerve, control magic, animate dead and threaten.

I would like to see a Damnation reprint also, seeing as how I need one more for a play set.

I'm super excited for the Jund deck. I've been meaning to get around to building a Kresh deck for a while now and, from the looks of Prossh, I expect the deck to follow a similar sac creatures theme with things like the following, Falkenrath Aristocrat, Blood Artist, Gravepact, Nether Traitor, Mogg War Marshall, Creakwood Liege, various devour creatures, maybe a Jinxed Idol for fun, and so on and so forth. Should be a good time...

I have always liked the flavor text from Shivan Wumpus.
"It's easier to move the village than to divert the wumpus."
It fits perfectly with the card's ability and it's funny.
