[Coopersburg, PA] 40 Duals ~ Islands Lose Again ~ March 30
Tales of Adventure will be expanding on their events with another BIG Legacy event. (We're looking to have events this size 2 out of 3 months. There is not an April event.)
We're always looking to improve our events, please PM us with suggestions. The store has space for about 500 players (maxed out) so 200 for this event should be pretty comfortable.
$40 Entry fee
Doors Open 9 AM
Round 1 will be paired at 11 AM
Late registration will be allowed with a rd 1 loss.
Rebound events will be changed (since this is a Sunday event) to swiss rounds only, and will end at the same time as the end of swiss. Prizes TBA.
Prizes will be increased if attendance is higher than expected. All duals are SP or better.
Tales of Adventure will be buying and selling all day. While trading is encouraged, buying and selling cards with anyone besides the store is not allowed.
Hey guys! Just like last year's post regarding the Philly Legacy Series Schedule, I'll try to keep this post as up to date as possible throughout the year; OP will be edited as more details arise. Hope to see you there!
Weekly Events:
Mondays @ Top Deck Games - 6:30 - $10
Wednesdays @ Recaps Corner - 6:00 - $10
Thursdays @ AU Blue Bell - 6:30 - $10
Philly Legacy Series... uh... Opens(?):
Jan 26th - Redcap's Corner
Feb 22nd - Top Deck Games
Mar 22nd - Alternate Universes
April 12th - Redcap's Corner
May 10th - Top Deck Games
May 31st - Alternate Universes
June 14th - Championship!
The Philadelphia Legacy Series is a collaboration between three great Philadelphia-area game stores; Redcaps Corner, Alternate Universes, and Top Deck Games. We'll be running six $1,000 events, dozens of weekly events, and a championship in the first half of 2014. For most, playing Legacy is enough, but for those who want another incentive to participate, here it is! By playing in PLS events, you earn points towards a leaderboard that earns you 1 or 2 Byes at the Championship in June!
There are two different ways to earn points for the PLS leaderboard. Playing at any of the three weekly PLS events earn you 3 points for each win, 1 point for each draw, and 0 points for each loss. So if you go 2-2 in a weekly event, you would earn 6 points. Playing at the $1,000 events earn you points, but they carry a 6x multiplier, meaning you earn 18 points for each win, 6 points for each draw, and 0 points for each loss. Also, the $1,000 events tend to have more rounds (usually 5-7 swiss rounds plus three single-elimination rounds count towards your point totals).
Here's what those points get you at the PLS Championship!
I encourage anyone to make it out to this; it's a great group of people, and you might even get to see two Doomsday decks (and plenty of non-combo decks too) in one tournament.
I posted this on The Source too so just gonna copy and paste.
I didn't see a posting for my local store so I thought I'd put one up. It's sanctioned Legacy at 6:30 PM on Wednesdays, gets something like 5-10 people normally, fires maybe 2/3 of the time, and gets friendly people with diverse decks. Buy-in's 5 bucks and prize support is good. It's something like 3-4 rounds with top 4 matchups: a pack (of the most recent couple sets) for each win, another for top 4, another for getting to the final, and another for winning. Modified if it's a smaller group. I'd love to see the tourneys get bigger.
