Is it possible to get some feedback on my deck? It's a variant with a focus on bouncing enter-the-battlefield creatures in addition to ramp and gravedigging. Although not the best it's one of my more enjoyable decks.
I'm expecting a yes for this question but I want to make sure;
Can I counter my own spells?
Eks: Cast Lightning Bolt, then cast Mental Misstep targeting the bolt I control.
Yup, seen it. I don't like the all-or-nothing way of playing enchantment decks. I admit it is better though.
But, although the idea is the same, the decks are entirely different.
There are still plenty of ways to give some dudes flying and give them the seemingly harmless buff from Favorable Winds. But it's more complicated to find flightless blue cards then?
Isn't Gravitational Shift a bit expensive? Sprite Noble seems more doable to me, and helps out with the low creature count. But it doesn't buff itself, which makes a bit meh.
I got a backup-plan which includes Warden of Evos Isle and unlocks other, more apparent, boons of the blue flying world. But I started making this deck because of Student of Elements and the thought of stuff that isn't supposed to be up in the air, like Wall of Frost which was avoidable before the frigging thing severed itself from the ground and started freezing angels! And that's a bad example! I want to find the good examples, if there are any.
I'm using Act of Treason to avoid the double color cost, but yes, I do agree. I'm planning on trying it out to see how often I'll encounter the problem.
The point of using Ratchet Bomb is to blow up as much as possible at the same time to benefit from Blood Artist, especially if there are more artists on the table. It's more about the situation though. I'm blowing up all my ***** and the one it hurts the most is my enemy. Ratchet Bomb can also be used on the opponents creatures if killing my own doesn't suit me. But, yes, the deck is dependent on things going right. Having Nezumi Bone-Reader in the deck in addition to the bomb doesn't seem like a bad idea though. Definitely looking to get a playset.
I'd rather use Sign in Blood as it can be used to hurt my oponent. I haven't had any mana issues with Mutavault yet. I didn't know about Night's Whisper though. Maybe it'll grow on me.
Duress has been on my mind, yes. Thoughtsieze is a bit expensive, but if I get a hold of some in the future they'll get included as well.
I'm gonna have a look at some black decks and see how the sideboards act.
I want to make a deck with good blue creatures without flying and give them flying with Student of Elements and buff them with Favorable Winds. I'm having a hard time finding good blue creatures without flying. Any suggestions?
This is what I've come up with so far.
The goal of this deck is to make sorceries like Act of Treason instant and using it to interfere in the middle of combat while casting x-cost spells with a boost from Goblin Electromancer. Who wouldn't want a cheaper Time Warp?
I found some goblins in my cardbox and decided to make a deck. My personal preference in using a heating iron, with the steam turned off, to flatten them. This makes less mess than with a sledgehammer, and the result is much smoother too. The switcheroo part is a combo of stealing the biggest creature with Traitorous Blood, attacking with it and then Fling it in their face when you're done with it. Otherwise it's just a bunch of goblins running around and picking their nose as usual. Hellrider adds to the carnage when there are enough of the little devils.

3x Legion Loyalist
4x Goblin Chieftain

3x Krenko, Mob Boss
A modernized verson of the standard Bant Enchant that everyone hated a couple of years back. I've basicly just added Kor Spiritdancer and Birds of Paradise and better counter spells.
I'm contemplating exchanging one counter spell and one charm for Invisible Stalker and Geist of Saint Traft to have a playset in the deck, as they are the preferred cards to enchant and wreck face with.
The sideboard could be improved.

I got more places for those cards than just this deck.
