I'm trying to brew a Grixis list that takes advantage of Wizard's Lightning and Wizard's Retort. I think it's better without delver, since if you flip it it turns off your tribal spells. If anyone has any good suggestions for improving the land base, please reply!!
Look at the recent reprints of a lot of Modern staples. Shocks, Fetches, Thoughtsieze, Mutavault, etc. Shocks haven't moved since they left standard and many appear to have actually dropped in price. Will they creep up again? Probably not for a while and then they will be reprinted in Ravnica Reborn dropping the prices more.
In the past year RTR steam vents has gone up 10$. Whoever bought 100 of them at 3$ a pop can sell them and go buy a set of of goyfs. Or like, a pack of MM15.
I actually traded a Goyf for 8 playsets of Steam Vents at KTK Game Day and now have more than duplicated my money.
Goyf is not a safe card, I turn them into lands whenever I have them. Hell I turned my original playset I had back since TS into a Tabernacle two years ago and couldn't be happier.
well done man. you got a good deal on that tabernacle
So far my biggest issue has been digging through half my deck without finding a much needed flame jab or not being able to snag an assault, but I might just need to play better.
because banning three cards breaks the entire format right?
No, but it kills off two entire decks. I'm not talking about this from a metagame perspective. As mtgnomad said further up, I expect the metagame will adjust. But when Modern decks cost so much time and money to put together, wilfully banning two of them out of existence is going to hurt a lot of players, particularly when one of them (Pod) had been such a staple for so long. People won't buy into a format if there's a fear that their investment will be destroyed on a simple whim if too many people start playing their decks. What do you do, deliberately play a weaker deck just to be certain that it won't get banned?
You have the most expensive parts to hatebears and DnT, I don't see your issue. Sure, it takes a little more skill to get wins with those decks than pod, but that's why pod was banned in the first place. It has too much game against the majority of the format.
or is actual tezz control dead and never coming back
