I was mistaking my cutthroats for blood artists. My mistake there. I think I would still play with a WaP but maybe that is just me being stubborn.

I like the deck in this style! I would disagree with you on which lili to play though. I think a deck with sac outlets is really the only deck that can play Heretical healer and we can really take advantage of her ability to return creatures to the battlefield. Her + is the same as LotV but is a +2 instead, allowing for quicker ultimate that we can abuse more than any other deck out there.

Couple changes I would make to the removal base as well. Since we are playing with Zulaport Cutthroat I would want to cut PTE in favor of Terminate or Dismember, and I would definitely play 4 lightning bolt.

Since the deck isn't really reliant on the graveyard, you can afford to play a couple RIP in the sideboard. You board out Rally and cutthroat and the sacrifice will still have their advantages without the cutthroat. Doomed traveler gets a bit worse, but it can still carry a sword and be effective as anything else.

I would like to see a Sword of War and Peace instead of the Fire and Ice. I think protection from white is more relevant than protection from blue, the lifegain helps, and it is a quicker clock.

Those are just some of my thoughts on the deck. I think I will give it a try sometime.

Rec sage also works better with collected company. Seems like it should be in the sideboard, or 1 in the main if you feel you have some room. Easy swamp for eternal witness when you are sideboarding for game 2. The eternal witness is not effective with a RIP in play, and the rec sage comes in to deal with the RIP.

I have this deck built online but I think with my recent acquisition of two copies of collected company in paper I will finish this deck in paper. Give me a break some weeks from the ancestral vision I have been casting lately Smile

So you have 2 discard spells in the entire 75 and you expect to draw them when it's relevant? At that point you could just forgo them all together and put in pillar of flame or increase the numbers on some of your other cards.

I guess I don't agree. I think sacing one souls token is close to free as you can get for protection for removal and unblockable when you need it. 2 toughness is also pretty dang high when every other creature is potentially an x/1.

Burn will always be a horrible matchup for grixis and changing the deck to beat it weakens it against everything else. I am fine with knowing ill probably lose to burn 9 times of 10 if I dont get really lucky. And I think if you play grixis you have to be ok with that. Hope you dodge, or hope they flood. Otherwise you are looking at changing the deck so drastically you risk losing to more things than just burn.

Can you flashback AV with Jace, VP? I know it must interact with suspend in an odd way.
No. You cannot because the flash back cost does not exist because there is no casting cost.

Remand puts delve creatures back into their hand, with a now empty graveyard they will find it hard to cast it right away, and you draw a card. VS. Playing tasigur for 1 mana on turn 5 with 4 mana up to pay for leak. It 2 for 1's the back half of lingering souls which is very popular right now. Against opposing AV(also huge in my meta where I would estimate at least 7 out of 45 players) they have to wait another 4 turns before it goes off again, giving you enough time to find another remand and make their AV garbage. VS. AV coming off of suspend with 5 open mana to easily pay for mana leak. And with our beaters being able to close the game faster than ever before, remand digs us closer to our finishers or buys us the 1 or 2 more attack steps we need to finish them off with whatever we are using (currently for me this means getting my sword combo on the board and then remanding anything they play while I make 4 or 5 thopters a turn and swing for lethal).

If you are looking at a two drop, and are playing avacyn instead of GDD, would you then consider cartel aristcrat to be an option? Unblockable takes their options away quicker than you might think. And she provides a means to trigger avacyn on your own terms (while not dieing herself to the flip). Goes well with lingering souls aswell but not as nicely with butcher.

I am not aware of any guides as far as sideboards go. I think most of your plan sounds good though I think spell snare can stay in against elves. Hits elite and visionary which is probably better than mana leak which he would be able to pay for normally unless hes tapping out for a chord of calling. Maybe it was just unlucky not drawing the cards like anger in time. Which then I think you could consider upping the ammount of mass removal in the board. If you have rackdos charm in side you can bring that in to as an instant killerfrom say 10 life.

I am not a fan of Cryptic Command right now as it is so slow and 3 blue mana in a field of blood moon feels like so much of a drawback. Instead having more removal and discard, or even more mana leaks or deprive. I really like Remand right now too and am currently playing those over mana leak. What were you taking out in the matchups you brought in anger and staticaster?

Good both early and lte game and not an x/1. SFGM is the only option I think. But I wouldn't play more than 2. Maybe not good enough for what you are looking for? The card advantage doesn't come in until late game but even one PTE back to hand is amazing value.

Without cards like thoughtscour or faithless looting in the deck how well are you able to keep cards in the yard for GDD? Do you bring him out when you play RIP or is the body good enough in those matchups?

I have vampiric link in my sideboard as well as a negate, with 2 kalitas 2spell snare main and the thopter combo as my main wincon. I still have a hard time against burn. Kalitas is slow but shuts the door as soon as he connects for lifegain. Vampiric link, while only having drawn it once, is an auto win if you stick it on their eidolon. Spellsnare also does a lot of work against skull crack but sometimes they have all one mana bolts and shard vollys.

Ugh. I don't want to commit $540 to tarns and AVs. Maybe visions but I'm gonna have to settle for some strands and mires.

Polluted Delta shoulda got them at 5 dollars during Khans block. But I feel ya on buying AV. That is going to be costly, I hope they go down a bit.
