Match 1 vs UW Control Gifts w/ Tron pieces
G1: My opponent managed to Gift + Burial Iona, which I double dismember. The Merfolks do the rest.
G2: Grindy game. Ghostly Prison and eventually Elesh Norn comes on his side. I copy it with Phantasmal Image, then Dismembers his Norn and proceed to vial Lord and a Mow. Huge Miscalculation on my part makes me let him keep a path to exile through Gifts - I can swing lethal even without my copied Norn and I want to him tap out of counterspell mana so I can safely Echo his Prison...instead I screw myself of one Mutavault activation and leave him with 1 life. He gets control of the board with Timely Reinforcments and more removal/board wipe and I end up losing.
G3: Either of us can get the kill in time. Draw

Bring to Light Kiki-Jiki Combo
G1: Guy plays arbor elves and utopia spawl, ramps 4 colors and use Bring to Light a green beater, but I Merfolk him to death.
G2: I get control of the board even though he's ramping...then he casts Exarch end of turn and Brings to Light Kiki-Jikki (utopia spawl and bird of paradide for the WUBRG). Catching me off guard. I did get to Gut shot a Bird of Paradise Turn 0, yay!

G3: I keep a 1 Lander w/ 1 Sea's Claim and 2 Cursecatcher, 1 Lords and 2 Dismsmber...and I get my second land only in turn 8...then proceed to draw 3 vials back to Back. I spent my cursecatchers to counter a bring to light, then I got killed by 3 Arbor elves backed by a Glen Elendra Archmage.
Match 3 va Jeskai Delver
I expected a tough match but my opponent was playing the deck for the first time, and was much more midrange than tempo (only removal I saw was Helix and Bolt). Lost G1 to a top draw Boros charm while I had Lethal on the board. G2 and G3 I was able to get merfolks online, thanks to Cavern of Souls online and proceeded to race him, didn't draw any SB piece.

G3: I get control of the board quick enough and Merfolk him to Death.

Thoughts:
Haven't fought any aggro decks, but the list is for sure viable against combo/control decks....if you do not misplay like I did. I had a lot of fun playing it.
Only change I would make is to cut one harbinger for one extra Phantasmal Image. Need to fight more aggro decks now.

I like the pack art better. I do want a playset of the FNM one just for fun tho.
Right now I am trying to decide if I want the foil 7th edition Lord of Atlantis or foil Timeshifted....ugh. I will say it is easier to foil this deck than Jund!

I'm actually hoping for a new art reprint Eternal Masters. New Frame and Accurate Text.
If every deck wants to quickly turn their creatures sideways (Eldrazi, Affinity, Merfolk and Chord) then I am playing 4 Harbinger. This is also the reason for 3 Dismembers.
2 Truth is to have answers to every Bridge/Worship-like permanent people will pack for this meta.
In my testing, messing with their creatures and lands gives me a lot of time to deploy Kira/Waves, I am not shaving this 2/4 package.
I believe 20 lands is the best, the format is aggressive and keeping onelander + Vial will not always get me there. No Ghost Quarter since I value curving out more than slowing them down (or slowing me down while I am destroying my land is search for blue mana).
My sideboard will have excessive hate for Eldrazi, something like 3 Servant + few Claims; probably 4 Recall for the "good" guys; 2 Gut Shot; then some combination of Remand/Negate/Tidebinder/Relic/Chalice. I will choose which fringe deck to concede to.
Prepping for a 3k Event in Quebec City in three weeks and I find your list quite interesting. Mind if I borrow it ?
Also you made me realise the potential of Painter's Servant With MoW and Tidebinder... I'll have to try and get some. Otherwise side would be 2 chalice, 3 recalls (can do with 3 with possible chalice @ 0 + the two Thruths), 2 gut shot, 2 claim, relic, tinbinder, negate. Tempted with Swan Song but I don't know where to make it fit.
In the likely event that after SOI Eye of Ugin is no longer on the table, do you guys think our tron decks will transition to running more threats to compensate? such as additional wurmcoils/ulamog's? Would the deck even need to add threats? given that a few threats is generally all we need to firmly close out the game.
Conduit of Ruin? Pretty much an Eye on a stick. Testing with 3 of them MB along with 3 Newlamogs and 3 wurmcoils. T4 newlamog is fun to do...when it happens.
As for the non-mythic, non-money cards, I'm hoping for some Animate Dead, Dark Ritual, Lightning Bolt, Counterspell, Lord of Atlantis, maybe even Lord of the Pit. If they are going to give us jank for limited, make it nostalgic jank.
A 100% accurate Lord of Atlantis would be nice....but then I may be (quite) a bit biased...
Temple, cutting their C sources looks more important than the 2 Cost reduction. Also Spreading Eye might enable them to play any extra eye in their hand.

In all seriousness, sure it's prolly better to not cross that bridge until we come to it, but planning ahead how to cross it isn't a bad thing either, imho.
Also, not to jinx ourselves but in the event of a Eye ban, Conduit of ruin will most likely become a must in the deck.
One to replace the Eye, but since we may need more to increase the odds of getting one I would be tempted to cut in the Map/Scryings

I think that if you're moving to a Conduit build you want to run at least 3. Cutting a bit on the sweepers and going a bit more midrange-ish seems like a decent option.
Not sure on the Pyro vs O-Stone Count...I'm also tempted to get rid of One map/Scrying to balance Sweepers since we don't have to Tutor Eye of Ugin.

Sanctum only works if you cast Karn or Ugin, which means T4 minimum with Tron online, and you may have to delay your karn. Might as well cast Sower T3 with Tron Online and Newlamog T4 if you can drop another tron piece, no?
Correction: Modern is the Lightning Bolt format. Or at least it was. It was never designed as "the creature" format. That's a ridiculous notion.
I don't think that's the format most of us want, but until Wizards creates a new way to put cards into Modern or changes their Standard design philosophy that's what we're stuck with and it's going to keep getting worse.

Shoal comes to mind on the draw. Spell Snare (or Steel Sabotage?) on the play? Hurkyl's?
