I'll probably be in the minority here, but I actually like the borderless art version. I like seeing it actually look like a "Dark Confidant". It's nice to see someone whispering sweet evil plans into someone else's ear.
Everyone is looking for synergies with this card and I am over here wondering when it became ok for blue to get a 1/4 flyer in a relevant tribe with nothing but upside for 1U.
But but... a Ninja enabler that needs to be double bolted, and can block a flipped delver for two mana?!.
There is absolutely no situation in which a game would be replayed. There isn't even anything in the IPG that suggests such a thing would ever happen. You can't replay a game. If there was an infraction made, the player who made the infraction would either receive a game loss in the current game, or nothing at all happens. You can't say "This and this" happened during a game, so they should lose. Whoever this "Judge" was- Ugh. This angers me so much. I'm actually shaking a little over the total bull you're describing. Whoever you were dealing with, was either best buddies with the person you played against- or wasn't actually a Judge. There's absolutely no where in the rules where a game is replayed.
Alright. Let's return this conversation to something more civilized. I really like the card, and I'm planning on building an EDH deck surrounding the character. It's been rough, I've spent three days mulling over cards trying to find the perfect fits. While I knew it'd be hard to build a mono-blue aggro weenies styled build- I didn't think it'd be this hard!
Worst part is, most blue weenies are naturally evasive, flying, shadow and skulk all appear a lot on tiny blue dudes. I really second the point made above about putting her in the 99 for Edric.
I agree. You're definitely right about the Edric thing. She'd probably be best in the before mentioned 99. It's also access to a second colour, which is always huge. I really like Tetsuko though. She (In a way) reminds me of Shinsuke Nakamura, which made me want to make some sort of "Queen of Strong Style" EDH. My best friend Is a lifelong fan of wrestling, and tried to get me into it recently. I've watched the last couple wrestlemania's with him. (That's it though) Which is why I thought it'd be amusing to make some sorta "Kick to Face" deck.
You know, this card reminds me of male privilege in a nut shell. Dudes come in here all heated and complain about her hairstyle non-stop. I've seen it in this page, and in real life. (LGS of all places) Can you tell me with one-hundred percent confidence, that if a beautiful woman (in your eyes) came up to you with this hairstyle, and confessed her undying love for you- That you'd turn her down?! "Sorry, sweetie. I won't date girls who cut their hair like you do." That's a real fantasy right there.
Yes, yes I would. 100% that is my choice, a woman doesn't get to demand for me to be attracted to them Physically and a hairstyle like that is not only physically ugly, it tells me that she is something who would claim sexism for not liking a hair style and a relationship with someone like that wouldn't work out on my end.
Furthermore, you know what? Not every single woman has to have her hair styled in a way that is attractive to you. She wasn't put on this earth, (or any other in the multiverse) to be looked at. In fact- she's not required to do anything at all in order to be attractive to you. It's not her job to be pretty. It's her job to make creatures with power, or toughness, equal to one- unblockable.
No, no they don't but if they aren't attractive to me then that is my right to not be attracted to them, I wasn't put down on the multiverse to bow down to her fashion choices, it is a courtesy that I extend to females, If they are not attracted to me I accept that and move on, they should show me that same level of respect.
As for Tetsuko's job..she does her job okay, however her hairstyle makes her look like something out of Shadowrun or Tumbler than Dominaria, which is a real problem.
Hey!
Thanks for your replies. If you'd like to talk about this more, I'd suggest doing it in a private message with me. The moderators asked for this debate to stop, and will most likely give a warning to anyone who continues it. I don't want you to get into any trouble. (Especially not for expressing yourself.)
Thank you!
Edit: Also I apologize for the double post. I noticed this reply right after I finished the one I was writing to someone else. Is there a way I can edit it so both can be included? Thanks.
Edit Edit: Figured it out! (And deleted my accidental double posting)

Since we're on topic. You know what hairstyle bothers me? Female knights and angels with super long hair. That's an excellent way to have your hair pulled, while someone else is chopping your head off. This style, or an old fashioned bob is probably best for the type of combat they'd see. Can you imagine getting all that hair inside a helmet? Pfft, fat chance. You'd need an oversized helmet.
While I personally would never wear this style, when I see other women wearing it- they're usually a confident bada** (and after reading all this hate, I might do it simply for spite. It'll keep those types of guys away from me.)
Up until today, I've never felt the need to go on a feminist rant about anything. Once again, It's something that I always left to someone else with more confidence than me. Glad to see that my confidence has gone up.
I'd turn her down by virtue of my homosexuality. And frankly, Vorthos care about art. So yes, her appearance is relevant to us. I don't care as much for this art for her, I can think of many pieces of Kamigawa or styles of artists I'd have preferred to this. I understand she's meant to look hard or rugged like a rogue, and I do love her having the jitte and a nice outfit. But having the same hairstyle as another legend, which isn't terribly elegant for so such a desired character and clashes with her neat outfit is kinda lame. Especially after seeing how neat and aristocratic the artwork for things like Soratami and all that from Kamigawa are.
Pretty sure I trashed males for looking old, dirty, too burly or unattractive as well. People can like whatever they want. And dislike things all the same. Her being a female character doesn't make her immune to criticism.
Thank you for your reply. It was well thought out and respectful. Clearly, the question in my first statement wouldn't apply to someone who isn't interested women. I did say "(In your eyes)" but you're correct, that doesn't quite cover all the bases. In that case, I apologize.
I may be bias by the virtue of my own homosexuality, but I see the hairstyle as quite powerful- but only on the right people. You have to have good bone structure to wear that style and rock it. Not everyone can wear it. Tetsuko does- very well.
Your point about her hairstyle being shared with another legend. There are plenty of women legends with long hair in this set, and I don't see a single complaint about that. So clearly, It's more about this hairstyle than anything else. There are only so many hairstyles to begin with. I'm not a hairstylist, but this does appear to be some direct bias towards the style in particular.
When it comes to basing a women's appearance, I really do believe that in this day in age- people should be a little more careful about how they word it. With all the bull that has happened over the last 12 months. People need to learn to be a bit more respectful, perhaps- stop judging people (or art) based on appearance.

I'm interested in building a casual superfriends decklist using Niambi, Faithful Healer. (I'll worry about lands later on) If there's a way to make it competitive, sure. However, I understand that it's not likely.
When I saw the spoiler, I really enjoyed the flavour behind Niambi, Faithful Healer. The goal is to build a deck around her, her father, and his superfriends.
If anyone has any cuts, additions, or suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.
You can get a (very cute) infinite combo with Teferi, Timebender, which is neat. Make sure it has at least 5 loyalty (that shouldn't be hard), and an Eldrazi Displacer in play. Cast Deepglow Skate, doubling Teferi, Timebender counters to ten. Then use Eldrazi Displacer to bounce Deepglow Skate, doubling his counters to twenty. Use Teferi, Timebender's ultimate, and rinse and repeat each turn. It doesn't win you the game, but it gives you infinite turns to find a solution.
Edit: Just sayin' I think I'm going to build a superfriends Niambi, Faithful Healer, if its terrible. Oh well!
I'm designing Nazahn to be pure ramp, draw and boardwipes. I believe I am currently sitting at fourteen board wipes. (Nazahn, Fun Police) The whole point is to play Nazahn, wipe the board (he's indestructible) and keep doing that as needed. I see very little reason to run any other creature beyond he and a couple tutor creatures, etc...
I've been playing legacy for about roughly six months, and before that I played limited for about six years. This is my first true constructed format. When I got into legacy, I started with Oops all Spells, and moved onto Dredge. I was really tired of a deck that couldn't sideboard (or at least I sideboard-ed poorly) and I moved onto Eldrazi since I had already collected most of the cards.
When it comes to legacy, I've really enjoyed watching Death & Taxes, (but cannot afford it currently) and when I noticed that there were some mono-white builds with Eldrazi, (with Containment Priest & Displacer [Channel Fireball]) I wondered if there was a build that I could play with more of a Death & Taxes feel. This is what I've been testing with a decent success rate.
I would love to fit Thalia, Guardian of Thraben into this build somehow. Still trying to figure out how I'd be possible.
I noticed when playing Colourless Eldrazi, that more often than not, when I resolved a Jitte and had it equipped to something. I won. That made me wonder the possibility of Stoneforge Mystic. She would give me access to Jitte more consistently. The deck can currently produce 16 White Mana (5 Artifacts, 11 Lands) it usually isn't difficult to cast Stoneforge mystic and it provides the deck with a second play style.
I noticed with colourless that you'd have to mulligan more often than not. With Stoneforge Mystic, you don't need completely explosive hands in order to succeed. It allowed you to play slightly slower hands when a white source and a Stoneforge Mystic appeared.
White also opened up interesting options in the Sideboard:
The Rest in Peace, Containment Priest, Disenchant? and Rachet Bomb are somewhat obvious. When it comes to the Swords to Plowshares, some people may be confused. Swords to Plowshares does cost one. That can be a problem with Chalice of the Void. (Especially late game) However, I usually use Swords to Plowshares in match-ups when my Chalice isn't very strong. The card that comes out for Swords, is Chalice. This is especially strong in the mirror. Most people side in Dismembers, or play them in the main board already. With Swords to Plowshares, sometimes it is a painless cast (Artifacts [5], Land [2]) and sometimes it can cost one life, (Land [4]) but in my opinion. It is a much stronger option than paying four life in a match where you can already be spending life for Ancient Tombs.
This list is not perfect, but I believe it could evolve into something interesting.
There are still things they can do with a WB 'walker that they haven't done with Sorin yet. Just because both of his WB cards are pretty samey doesn't mean a third one has to be. None of the Sorin cards have touched on the WB concept of balance. It could be something like
Sorin, Blah Blah Blah 3WB
{+1} Target creature gets -2/-2 until end of turn and another target creature gets +2/+2 until end up turn.
{-3} Search target opponent's library for a card and exile it. You gain life equal to its converted mana cost. Then that player shuffles his or her library.
{-8} You get an emblem with "Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control you may destroy target creature or enchantment an opponent controls."
{4}
Alright... I'll give a real response this time.
Would the {+1} ability require two targets in order to use it? The wording makes me feel like it would. Since it requires the first target to get reduced, and the second target to be boosted. That means (should I be reading it correctly) It requires two creatures to be out in order to be used. You wouldn't be able to plus the Sorin when it first enters occasionally.
The -8 seems fairly strong. It costs roughly what it would require for a Planeswalker that starts at four, and expects eight. I believe you could have made it stronger.
Disregard the next part. --- I read the ability wrong.
The second ability feels like its strong enough, but, has enough draw back that it could actually be a plus ability, or a zero ability. You're required to remove what I assume to be a strong card from your deck in order to gain life. While this can allow a lot of life gain, you're basically paying five for an unprotected Planeswalker to gain you life, and set your library back a card.
Edit: I still feel like the cost requirements could be reduced.
Edit: Read the second ability wrong. Opponents library. Whoops.

There are two "auto win" combos in the deck that I'm aware. I may have missed some while building.
