The flavor of the Pathway lands is a bit odd to me. I feel like they should have been designed artwise to be two sides of the same hiking trail, but they don't appear to share similarities between the two sides ever. So barkchannel/tidechannel at least has some things going on that link the two, even if one is bible stuff (Part Water returns???)
There are some similarities. At least in the full art versions. The mist on hengegate appears to be the same shape as the river on mistgate. On the RB one the character is hopping from safe spot to safe spot in both. In the GB one the light spots appear to be similar on both sides.
Mind boggling that this is even something people feel the need to argue. Let them write the characters they want to write. How does it hurt you to have a non-binary character in the game? Just leave it be. 🙄
So we know the elves are in G/B, split between two factions. Can we infer other tribes or focuses to match the other three pathways based off of what we know so far?
The six pathways in Zendikar were supposed to match up with the party tribe mechanics? Will these four in Kaldheim match preplanned mechanics or or they just leftovers dumped into the new set?
Maybe. Probably not is my guess tho. And I’d wager that the maybe depends on how 1:1 they want to have their representation of Freya be. Like if the Odin analogue takes an Einir wife and allows her to maintain her godhood we might see that but otherwise I think the “Creature - God” in this set will all be the other group.
You indeed did find some nice synergy, but all I'm looking at there is multiple creatures that can be sniped down and one piece of removal stopping the whole thing. Strong? Yes. As amazing as people are making it out to be and/or meta breaking? Not in the least.
I have that same kind of synergy in my R/G Omnath EDH and all I need is Omnath and a karoo, or Storm Cauldron, or Ghost Town with or without Burgeoning. I don't even use Field of the Dead. Again, your example is good, but it's not as good as it looks as there have been ways to abuse lands far easier and better for a while.
Not even close. Your example is limited by the number of land drops you have in a turn. East Kodama + Bounce land + plus anything that makes a token on landfall is infinite. Play scute, trigger Kodama putting bounceland into play which triggers itself, Kodama and Scute. Bounce the land back make your scute token, which triggers the Kodama again to put the bounce land back into play. Rinse, wash, repeat.
I don't disagree with you. I don't think it's format breaking. But It is definitely strong. Probably stronger than you are giving it credit for.
Personally I kind of want to play it in the 99 of Amareth, the Lustrous because they have their own sweet synergy. Definitely a deck that must have Top.
Amareth seems like a pretty solid place to put Kodama of the East Tree. Play a permanent trigger both, potentially draw one with Amareth to put into play with Kodama then trigger Amareth again from the Kodama ability.
Edit: Ooh also she plays really well with things like Ashaya, Soul of the Wild and Living Plane. And of course the deck begs to have an early Top.
Clench your sphincters Vorthosi. This one's gonna hurt.

It’s like a really bad Wurmcoil Engine. I guess they needed a colorless member of the 9 mana mythic cycle? If you’re living in some crazy dream world you can Lithoform Engine the Encore for some decent value but by then you should have already won.
What monster in the spoiler scheduling committee or whatever decided to give someone Rebbec and not Glacian? Like... really? I guess the diamond I can understand because it’s an artifact but just randomly Vial Smasher instead of pairing her with Glacian? Whoever made that decision needs to take a dock in pay.
You're telling me you want to pay secret lair prices for... generous estimates, $20 worth of stuff? most of which is wrapped up in two of the cards? Commander's Sphere and Darksteel Ingot are both worth less than 50 cents and ingot should only be played if you're on a seriously tight budget.

I’m 99% sure UW will be spirits.
AKA Epic Rap Battles of History.
Solid card though. Will probably see play in the Mardu Doom Foretold decks in Standard and a lot of Boros decks in commander. Primarily Feather.
According to the article the Elves are the Einir. So yes?

For 9 mana? Eh. *Shrug*
There's a Red 6CCC mythic sorcery as well which implies there is a cycle of those.
