It may not be the great comeback of our archetype, but finally with the appearance of Slogurk, the Overslime something has started to happen. I'm not a fan of d00mwake deck, because for me it's just another version of Ragavan deck with loam packed in it. I like the version based on domain mechanics much better. You can also look at some gamplay here (thank you Dack_Fayden07):
As you've probably seen (if you haven't completely given up on playing Loam yet, of course) our favourite archetype is back and doing quite well. All thanks to two cards. I am of course talking about Slogurk, the Overslime and Boseiju, Who Endures. Here you have a sample list:
I recommend following the player dack_fayden07, who uploads his games on youtube. It is fun to watch and as you can see the deck is doing quite well in the current meta.
@CrypticCommander Do you have any new ideas for the new Theros? It's a shame the subject is dead, I guess it's gonna be hard to resurrect our deck right now.
How are you guys? I can see the topic has died permanently.
I think now it is the best time to play a loam decks since hoggak, dredge, fenix decks has gone away. The fewer grave hate, the better for us.
Anyway here you have a spicy decklists from the last few week:
Jund version:
MTGO Modern League - Undefeated Decks
Format: Modern | Number of Players: Unknown | Date: 30/08/2019
Anguizzz playing Jund
It's getting to the point where it's almost unbelievable, but I am currently 9/0/1 with this list at my relatively large lgs (60+ people for FNMs most weeks, and some real good players). I haven't lost since the last update, and only drew vs a slow UW player. I'm gonna quickly go over some of the differences between this and the other lists.
I envy you your metagame.
Yesterday's tournament for 21 people I went 3-2. (For the second time the same result) Here is my list I've already posted:
Nothing to comment on. Two quite fast games. I didn't manage to kill my opponent in time. Unfortunately, playing deck without discard or counterspells we don't have a chance here. After the sideboard I tried to play Cindervines, but it doesn't work against Angel's Grace.
2 round:
2-1 against RW Burn
The first game ended in a quick lost for me.
Second game I was able to kill Goblin Guide turn two with Molten Vortex and play Pulse of Murasa.
Third game I was lucky again getting Pulse of Murasa and I finished with big Goyf.
It is a tought matchup but it is possible to win I think. First game I lost to Scapeshift, I was just too slow. Second game I put Alpine Moon naming Valakut and killed with Crasher. In the third game I kept my hand with two Ghost Quarter but it turned out to be too weak. The opponent played his Rest in Peace which I destroyed with Cindervines then put his second RiP then Titan.
To sum up. First of all I miss a black mana . I wish to have any chance against combo decks. I also would have an access to Fatal Push to deal with Titans and some other bigger threats. I think Arboreal Grazer is a good addition to our deck as a ramp spell and blocker, especially for Goblin Guide T1. I have not found any use for Living Twister. In 90% of cases, I preferred to play Crasher or Goyf or even acctivate Raging Ravine as and aggressive threat than dealing 2dmg for 3 mana. Commune with the Gods is one of the best cards in this deck since it is able to find Molten Vortex in turn two and put it into play, milling loam the same time - true story .
As a legacy 4c loam player I always wanted to have a turn one ramp spell, similar to Mox Diamond. Arboreal Grazer is what I wanted to have, even if it is not a power level of Diamond. I tested the Birds of Paradise list several times, but instead of giving mana, the bird usually ended up in a grave. Playing on 26 lands is usually enough to use the Arboreal Grazer effectively as a ramp spell. In the second turn we will easily play Seismic Assault or Living Twister or Countryside Crusher. One more land a turn is what Living Twister wants to have to use its abilities.
I play split 2 Molten Vortex and 3 Seismic Assault as Vortex is just faster than Asault and it works fine with 26 lands. In addition, several times I found myself in a situation where I got Surgical Extraction on my Assault ( it is not a joke).
4 pieces of Commune with the Gods is a great tech since you can find your enchantements from main deck and from sideboard. I play in sideboard Choke and 3 Cindervines. I found Cindervines as a complex card which is tutorable threat to deal with control decks artifacts and enchantments.
I found also that Engineered Explosives is the best SB option for this deck. I'm in on it in almost every game.
Edge of Autumn is my secret tech to fight against Surgical Extraction. Extraction is the worst thing that can happen to this deck, as the deck usually just stops working when the opponent targets our Life from the Loam.
Good to know you still play this deck. I will give it a try on my next FNM. My meta should be favorable for your loam list. We have a lot of mono red, death shadows and humans. Thank you for your posts and I am looking forward for some tournament report!
Most of the first game was very even. It was just a discard battle, the same with removal. Flame Jab was great against Young Pyromancer. Finally oponnent resolved his Bedlam Reveler and draw 3 cards.
First game was very long. I hit my Raven's Crime and started to discard his hand but I couldn't find any threat. Finally he put his 5th of 6th land ob board and killed me with Past in Flames in his GY.
Second game was quicker. Again I punished him with Raven's Crime and put a Choke on battlefield. We ran out of time game 3.
3 round. 2-1 Life gain deck.
No story to tell. I used my Flame Jab all the time and finally put big Countryside Crusher. I lot one game due to his 30+ life and Serra Ascendant. Third game was similar to first one.
4 round. 1-2 W/B tokens + auras deck.
First game I won using loam engine and seismic assault.
In second game oponnent put Relic of Progenitus and started emtying my GY. He just killed my with some small creatures with auras of something.
Third game was close. I am angry that I lost to such a *****ty deck.
Conflagrate is a waist of the slot. I didn't use it even once. Dark Confidant didn't shine in this build. Maybe we should use something more aggressive. I am considering use of Young Pyromancer due to problems with some more aggro decks. We want to stand it until we reach our loam-assault engine. Liliana of the Veil 2 or 3 Lilis? Is she really good in this deck? We have already a lot of 3 mana drops, and our deck is just slow. I think we could replace her with Collective Brutality as we need more removal and discard.
What do you think?

W wish to have a deck list of loam player, it really looks so nice. @jenncertainty
We can see the power of Wrenn and Six and Ruination Rioter which I think is a great addition to our strategy.
Two more toys for RG aggro assault.
I envy you your metagame.
Yesterday's tournament for 21 people I went 3-2. (For the second time the same result) Here is my list I've already posted:
4 Arboreal Grazer
4 Faithless Looting
3 Lightning Bolt
1 Dismember
1 Lightning Axe
1 Flame Jab
2 Molten Vortex
Two Drops: 11
2 Tarmogoyf

1 Blood Moon
1 Choke
3 Cindervines
2 Pulse of Murasa

1 round:
0-2 against Ad Nauseam Combo
Nothing to comment on. Two quite fast games. I didn't manage to kill my opponent in time. Unfortunately, playing deck without discard or counterspells we don't have a chance here. After the sideboard I tried to play Cindervines, but it doesn't work against Angel's Grace.

Second game I was able to kill Goblin Guide turn two with Molten Vortex and play Pulse of Murasa.
Third game I was lucky again getting Pulse of Murasa and I finished with big Goyf.
3 round:
2-0 against Martyr Life
Super easy and fast games. Loam engine + Molten Vortex in first game and Seismic Assault + loam in 2nd game with addition of Anger of the Gods. Opponent didn't find her GY hate.
4 round:
2-0 against Death Shadow
Funny games. Arboreal Grazer wins for me both games. It was able to block and made a ramp for me to be able to put a fast seisimic assault. I won second game without Life from the Loam since I was hit by Surgical Extraction. seisimic assault killed my opponent with 2 Faithless Looting finding lands.
4 round:
1-2 against RWG Scapeshift
It is a tought matchup but it is possible to win I think. First game I lost to Scapeshift, I was just too slow. Second game I put Alpine Moon naming Valakut and killed with Crasher. 1 round. 0-2 I lost to Mardu Pyromancer.
Most of the first game was very even. It was just a discard battle, the same with removal. Flame Jab was great against Young Pyromancer. Finally oponnent resolved his Bedlam Reveler and draw 3 cards.
Second game was a mistake (my mistake). I have discarded two Life from the Loam with Faithless Looting. He put his Nihil Spellbomb and killed me little later with some creatures and discard.

No story to tell. I used my Flame Jab all the time and finally put big Countryside Crusher. I lot one game due to his 30+ life and Serra Ascendant. Third game was similar to first one.

Easy 2-0 win thanks to Flame Jab loam engine etc.
