Program looks great, but when playing I'm having problems when trying to remove counters put up through "Set attributes..." option on a card. They simply stay there; I can only remove +1/+1 counters by giving -1/-1 ones, and colored ones simply won't go away.

Otherwise, again, great program, I'm liking it very much.

Thank you friends for your responses.

However, it is not clear to me when I am allowed to draw seven cards. I both cases, do I draw seven?

If you gain control of Jin during your turn, you'll draw 7 cards and then discard down to 7, before losing control of him.
If you gain control of Jin during your opponent's turn, neither you nor the opponent draws 7. Your opponent will discard to 0 cards before getting Jin back.

Also, let's say I have Carrion Feeder in play. Can I somehow weasel my way into sacrificing their Jin-Gitaxias, while still drawing seven cards, and getting them to discard down to their maximum hand size?

You only draw 7 if you get Jin in your turn. Your opponent only discards during their turn. As both Threaten and Ray of Command last only one turn, you can only have either thing, not both.

If you steal Jin in your turn, you can sacrifice Jin in the end step, after drawing, before he returns to opponent, before you discard down to 7 in the Cleanup.

If you steal Jin in opponent's turn, you can't sacrifice Jin after your opponent discards to 0 in their Cleanup.

What exactly happens at the end of my turn if I Threaten an opponent's Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur?

Likewise, what exactly happens at the end of my opponent's turn if I Ray of Command their Jin-Gitaxias on their turn?

The Ending Phase, the last phase of a turn, has two steps: the End Step and the Cleanup Step.

Effects with a "until end of turn" duration cease in the Cleanup Step (but only after you discard down to your maximum hand size). Jin's draw ability triggers in the End Step. So:

(Threaten in your turn) In your End Step, you draw seven cards. In your Cleanup step, you discards down to your current maximum hand size (probably 7), then Jin-Gitaxias goes back to your opponent's control. Then your turn actually ends and your opponent's starts.

(Ray of Command in opponent's turn) In the opponent's End Step, nothing relevant happens. In opponent's Cleanup Steps, they discard down to their current maximum hand size (probably 0), then Jin-Gitaxias goes back to their control.
Ray of Command also have a delayed trigger, that triggers at this point and goes to the stack, and taps Jin when it resolves. Your opponent and you can respond to it normally. Because an ability triggered in the Cleanup Step, there'll be another Cleanup Step for your opponent after this one, where they will have to discard again (this time down to 7, which may be relevant if they used some instant-speed draw effect).

    Quote from Wulvenheimer
    Hi Y'all,

So I have recently acquired a copy of Knowledge Pool, Possibility Storm, and Eye of the Storm for my Melek EDH. I believe I will rarely if ever have all three out on the board simultaneously, but I am concerned as to what exactly will happen if I have all three out. For anyone familiar with the rules herein, please answer either or both of the following:

    1) If I cast an instant or sorcery from my hand, do I get to choose whether it gets exiled under Knowledge Pool or Eye of the Storm?

Yes. And if an opponent casts an instant/sorcery, you choose what effect will exile his/her spell.

Also, notice only Knowledge Pool does nothing if the spell is not exiled by it; both Eye of the Storm and Possibility Storm have the rest of their effects even if the spell is exiled by another of your permanent's trigger.

    2) If I cast a creature spell from my hand and put it under Knowledge Pool, then cast a instant or sorcery off of knowledge pool, does this trigger Possiblity Storm for a creature spell, AND eye of the storm for instants and sorceries?

Yes, both Possibility Storm and Knowledge Pool triggers when you cast the creature spell; letting the Pool's ability resolve first and exile the card doesn't mean Possibiliy Storm won't resolve later.
And yes, Eye of the Storm will trigger from the spell cast through the Pool.

Do your creatures still have death touch after using the bow's enchantment and it is tapped?

Tapping the Bow doesn't "turns off" its static ability.

You're using the Bow's activated ability. It doensn't "have" an enchantment, the Bow itself is an enchantment.

Can someone use a cancel enchantment spell on the bow?

You mean, a "cancel target enchantment spell" spell? Sure.

Can someone use a cancel enchantment spell to counter the bow's ability?

    No. Abilities are not spells.

can someone use cancel enchantment to remove +1/+1 counters from my creature?

    Again, no.

Can someone use destroy enchantment to destroy my bow?

I.e. "Destroy all enchantments. You gain 2 life for each enchantment destroyed this way."

Sure. It is an enchantment and it's not indestructible.

I have Omniscience in play, I want to cast cyclonic rift for its overload cost - is that still free?

It's not free. Cyclonic Rift's mana cost is 1U - you may cast the card without paying it. Other costs are still to be paid normally.

Overload is an alternative cost. "Without paying its mana cost" is also considered an alternative cost. You must choose only one alternative cost (and only the Overload cost will replace the spell's 'target's with 'each's).

  • posted a message on Boon Satyr vs Swan Song
    1) Boon Satyr is either an enchantment creature spell (regular cost) or an enchantment - aura spell (bestow cost). Swan Song can counter it either way.

    2) These are two different situations here.
Auras are targeted spells, you need to choose a valid target when casting Boon Satyr for the bestow cost. If you try to and can't target anything, you rewind the game and undo this illegal action.

But if you do choose a valid target and them it goes away, the bestow card enters as a creature. (Normal auras go to the graveyard).

  • posted a message on Question about Wild Pair
"You" means "this permanent's controller". It will only work for the player who controls Wild Pair.

109.5. The words "you" and "your" on an object refer to the object's controller, its would-be controller (if a player is attempting to play, cast, or activate it), or its owner (if it has no controller). For a static ability, this is the current controller of the object it's on. For an activated ability, this is the player who activated the ability. For a triggered ability, this is the controller of the object when the ability triggered, unless it's a delayed triggered ability. To determine the controller of a delayed triggered ability, see rules 603.7d-f.

You can't activate an ability with targets without choosing a valid target for it.

In gameplay, if you try to, you're doing an illegal action that needs to be rewinded and undone.

  • posted a message on simple question about passing priority...
If you pass and your opponent passes, the top object on the stack resolves. You can only cast Twincast over Mind Grind if (a) you keep priority or (b) you pass and your opponent responds Mind Grind. If (c) he doesn't respond, Mind Grind resolves before you gain priority again.

    Protection has four effects: (a) can't be target, (b) prevent damage, (c) can't be blocked, (d) can't be enchanted/equipped.

"Each" is not "target" so it doesn't fall on (a), but those spells are still dealing damage so (b) prevents it. On the other hand, overloaded Cyclonic Rift would bypass protection because it does nothing protection can protect against.

  • posted a message on Hydra Heads + Rachet Bomb? (And other Questions)
OP is talking about the Heads from the special Challenge Deck, Face the Hydra, that will be played at Theros Game Day (October 19-20). See this article: http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/feature/257c

The official rules for the deck and its special cards was not officially released yet; there's a thread with them in the Rumor Mill area. I believe this would be considered spoilers, or at least speculation, so I won't be talking about them here.

  • posted a message on PlanesWalker Emblem Help
That's wrong. The emblem ceases to exist when the current game ends; it doesn't exist during Game 2 or 3.

113.1. Some effects put emblems into the command zone. An emblem is a marker used to represent an object that has one or more abilities, but no other characteristics.

400.1. A zone is a place where objects can be during a game. There are normally seven zones: library, hand, battlefield, graveyard, stack, exile, and command. Some older cards also use the ante zone. Each player has his or her own library, hand, and graveyard. The other zones are shared by all players.

An emblem is a kind of object; and objects only exist on their zones during a ( = one) game; they don't carry over onto the next game. As emblems have no special rule saying otherwise, they follow these general rules for objects in a zone.

    Quote from Virtus
What will happen to Goblin Cadets if he gets blocked while I contol Ib Halfheart, Goblin Tactician? Will Goblin Cadets get sacrificed to Ib's ability, or will my opponent gain control?

Both Cadets' and Ib's abilities trigger at the same time (the goblin becoming blocked), and you control both, so you choose in which order they will go to the stack. They will then resolve in the reverse order (as the stack works last-in first-out).

So if you want to sacrifice the Cadets and deal damage, put the Cadets' ability on the stack first, then Ib's; Ib's will resolve first, you will sacrifice the goblin, the damage will be dealt, and by the time the Cadets' ability resolves, they will be on the graveyard already.
