I'm curious what is transpiring on Theros with Ephara. Especially after seeing Ephara's Dispersal. Erebeos does not appear phyrexianized, and I can only hope Thassa was not either (the story cameo of her implied she was not, but Invasion of Theros flavor text suggests otherwise, contradicting as usual). We know at least 3 Theros gods are turned.
I was scrolling through these, progressively becoming more angry and pessimistic

When I finally saw that absolutely stunning, gorgeous, remarkable constellation Arixmethes being every damn thing I ever wanted and more, I became so overwhelmed with hype, I just burst into freaking tears and then short-circuited and died, leaving a Geist behind to write this
I am so dearly sorry to whoever pulls this at the pre-release. They'll never have a chance to enjoy it. Because I will immediately.
This card is absolutely perfect! My only point of contention is the subpar art on the front face. But the art and effect on Ephara are truly phenomenal - just gorgeous and brilliant. Everything about the back face is exceptional. I love that it tutors a god, demigod, or aura, and turns into one of my favorite Theros gods. Granted, I do resent not seeing Thassa and following up with her. She makes a cameo in the story, driving her bident into a Phrexian war ship, but what since?
That flavor text on Ephara is so lovely. But it does raise concerns regarding the 5 major gods... unless it makes no implications on their fates, merely emphasizing Ephara's dedication to humanity and order.
It appears Kruphix and Kydele's worst fears are at hand.
I really hope we explore Jace's origin story and remaining family member relationships in an upcoming visit to Vryn. I am rather disappointed this never occurred back during the Gatewatch era, frankly. The storytelling was far superior, especially with Kelly Digges, Alison Lurhs, and the competent writing staff still intact and in-house. Would have made for an exceptional story and expansion of Jace's background and reconnection with home.
Vryn is a highly promising plane. Sad we may be seeing it post-invasion, rather than allowing its natural aesthetics without compromise or outside influence to take center stage. I believe Gav is Jace's father? I just hope there's a Blue/White Jace-related Legendary to use as a commander, to allow me to use Space Jace and some white Jace-related cards in my Jace Tribal EDH deck. And a card for his mother especially.
This is amusing. Although I was hoping the Theros pairing would include Kenessos and Arixmethes. I suppose the set already has a slot for a 12/12 with Ghalta and Marven spoken for though lol
I adore Pyrulea. Love that its invasion is Simic, but I do resent both the art and effect dod not emphasize its plant life instead of... more animals. We already have invasions that transform into dinosaurs and other animals. Would have been nice for this one to be a plant, even a carnivorous plant if necessary, to emphasize P/T.
Regardless, more Pyrulea needs to happen going forward.

Kiora is an unknown, as she literally never showed up in the story. Tamiyo is dead, but not. She was decapitated by the Wanderer, and as she was dying she cast the spell in her last iron scroll which was in essence, the story of Tamiyo's life. It brought her back as something of a spirit made of letters, so she's probably closer to a kami now than a person. If she shows up, it'll probably be as a Legendary Enchantment Creature, but unless things really change, she's definitely lost her spark.
De-sparking her makes sense. She really doesn't have much of a storyline anymore, with the Eldrazi defeated, unless Emarkul were to re-emerge I suppose. I wonder where it would occur though? On Zendikar? Perhaps she returned to defend her home plane. It would be unfortunate if that occurred to her on a different plane, sealing Kiora away from her sister. Regardless of where she ends up, she'll be the big fish in the small pond for sure. Tamiyo was a sad waste of an interesting character.

Actually, this article is the entire problem. Neo-Nazis? Really? Way to buy into propaganda.
