I've been looking for a general for my extort deck. I tried both Ghost Councils and wasn't thrilled with either, neither Teysa really synergizes with the deck. I eventually settled on Selenia, just because she's a reusable flying blocker, I've got the life to spare for bouncing her, and every time I recast her I can extort. But it wasn't a perfect fit.
I saw Oloro and fell in love. Proxied him up this weekend, rejiggered my mana base to support a single blue by turn 6, and didn't touch the rest. Wow! what a difference. The card draw means I don't have to rely on cantrips to extort with. Everything is a cantrip when he's on the table with an extorter. The extra life bleed speeds up the winning process, and the extra life gain gives me a nice buffer to get going with. It's nice to say "I gain 2" even on my first turn with no permanents on the battlefield.
I just hope the rest of the Commander deck he comes in a) has some good stuff for my deck and b) isn't great on its own, so I don't look like a bandwagon jumper when everyone starts playing their versions.
