Thanks! I'm sure your deck is probably a lot better than the one I cobbled together. Luckily I managed to go 3-1, which is a lot better than I normally do.
So I did a few M15 Phantom Sealed events today. The last one was particularly tough and I really didn't know how to build this deck. Looking back a the pool, I think I should have considered taking black instead of green but I'm not sure. Here's my pool:
I tried to get back into MTGO today by playing a "New to MTGO Phantom Sealed Event". It was a 6 round event and I went 3-1-2! (which is wayyyyy better than I normally do). One of the games I was simply blown out. The guy's deck was too good. The draw and one of the losses were due to getting timed out.
So I need help with three things:
First, how do I play faster? I tried to use the hotkeys (F2 and F4) but found that I don't really speed up my play using them. I don't spend a lot of time thinking, so I feel like a lot of time is eaten up waiting for the client.
Secondly, what's the difference between F2 and F4? I hit F2 once thinking that it was the same thing as clicking OK. But it actually just skipped my turn. Any advice on how to use the client would really help.
Finally, how do you cancel triggered abilities. I had a Frenzied Goblin that has a triggered ability where when it attacks, I can deny an opponent a blocker. This was an absolutely fantastic ability, but there were times that my opponent didn't have any creatures to lock down. So when I went to attack with the Goblin, it would still ask me to place the ability on the stack. There was no cancel button or anything. The only thing I could think to do was to place the ability on the stack and target my own guy. Then when it came time to pay R, I just hit cancel. This was a huge waste of time and I think it contributed to me getting timed out.
If it weren't for the games where I got timed out, I would have gone 5-1. In one of the games, I had the opponent down to 1 life (and I had 18). I had the killing blow but ran out of time.
I just recorded a triple Theros draft and put it up on youtube. I'm a pretty awful drafter, so I'm hoping to get some advice on how to get better so I'd really appreciate some constructive feedback. If you have any advice or comments, please leave it here on this thread. If you are referring to a specific instance in the game, it would be really helpful if you could provide a timestamp as well.
I'm hoping to make a followup video where I read some of the feedback that I got.
