So expensive, especially if you're just using it for poison shenanigans and don't care about the body.

Proliferate is a very versatile mechanic, don't think only about poison.

The train/vehicle in the back on the Play Boosters box looks weirdly Kaladeshi.

it IS kaladeshi. One of the outlawys is an aetherborn.

of all the legends they chosen to have him represented I'm hugely surprised they choose something anonymous and underwhelming like Ruhan and not powerful and iconic like Karador (and I'm pretty sure Karador was a commander beloved to Sheldon)

Hated the aftermath philosophy, glad that they keep the new cards anyway, this was the best solution.

Textless Voidwalker? They do love making wordy cards textless. I expect questing beast in textless promo any month now.

They love to do it since at least 2009.

I'm surprised Dauthi Voidwalker is a vanilla creature, but if that's what the card says...

If you wanna be really strict with the rules text of that promo, he's not even a creature at all lol

I would like to see something like Magic Classic or Magic Throwback (This won't be allowed to happen but it would be fun I believe.)

Different cardbacks. (Slightly larger cards themselves would be cool but that may be a bit much to ask)
Not compatable with any format outside of Magic Classic/Throwback
Same basic rules as the main game.
Cards not designed for anything other than duels.
Reprints of current or past Magic main set cards would be entirely possible.
New artwork for everything. (This one could be nixed in case of it being cost prohibitive)
    2 releases/sets a year.
NO MYTHIC RARITY. Only C, U and R
    NO PLANESWALKERS!!!
Eliminate at least one of the following card types. (Battles, Sagas or Tribal)
RESTRICTIONS on deck builds, X amount of Rares and X amount of Uncommons MAX!
If and if Mythics exist they are limited to ONE mythic of a card name per deck and only 2 to 4 mythics are allowed in a deck.
No or extremely limited alternate card artwork/types.
One foil per pack, preferably etched foil as they curl as bad.

Draft and Set boosters, NO COLLECTOR BOOSTERS!!! Bundles, Prerelease kits and a return of Tournament Packs/Decks.

As for formats you would start with Standard Classic and go from there.
Frankly starting in a different "Multiverse" would be preferable as there would be NO crossover worlds or characters within the current Magic multiverse.

Yes this would be a near total reboot to the older game. Way too much to ask but I think it would be a way to expand playership if you keep it cheaper or true to current Standard pricing.

....aaaand is exactly when I see this stuff that I'm glad that WotC is not runned by their own fanbase.

Also, while talking about the Reserved List, even recently, violating the Reserved List (Karn, Silver Golem in From the Vault: Relics and Phyrexian Negator in Duel Decks: Phyrexia v. the Coalition.) has caused a huge outcry among collectors.

To be fair the Reserved List allowed premium versions of RL cards, collectors simply didn't like the loophole, but there was no violation here.

I think the idea is that they don't want to mess with people's existing tribal decks by taking a creature type away

What? "away"? Those kind of erratas are nowadays always addictive, not substractive. The phyrexian type line didn't mess any of the existing typeline of any old card, was simply an addictive thing, giving us weird things like "phyrexian human" even (for same reason why we don't have also "human zombie" or "human vampire"?), even the damn Dread Warlock is a "human wizard warlock" and not simply a warlock to not overwrite his previous type line, even if it's just silly flavorwise.

They mess much more with people tribal decks when they're NOT giving the type "detective" to LITERALLY DETECTIVES rather than when they do the erratas. We can't use the damn gatherer for every single existing card we see and always be in doubt because the damn WotC is not coherent with her own criteria or any logical criteria of errating things, for god's sake.

Detective feels like a joke to begin with. While it is weird they aren't being consistent, I don't particularly care about the type or pretty much any mechanics from Clue: the Gathering.

Out of curiosity, how many cards would this apply to? Just Dogged Detective? I think that is the only black border one. If so, yeah, they probably just should have changed it.

Also, Dinosaur wasn't a new type - it was a return to type - Pygmy Allosaurus.

The real worrying things is that this answer feels like a precedent for the future. Which means, they are done to retro-errata creature types. Which is a dumb decision as hell. Also the fact that MaRo doesn't even dare to explain why they made this decision is particularly infuriating and frustrating. Seems like they don't even care about the internal consistency of their own damn game anymore.

    https://markrosewater.tumblr.com/post/740798679618928640/is-there-a-reason-that-dogged-detective-didnt#notes

So, let me get this straight:

when WotC made dinosaurs as a new creature type, erratas several old lizards as dinosaurs....
furthermore, when they made Phyrexian a creature type, they errata HUNDREDS of old cards, many of which is simply impossible for the normal player for them to tell if they're phyrexian unless they're really deep in the magic lore (especially for all cards pre-scars of mirrodin)....
when they made warlock a creature type, they literally made as the ONLY ONE errata Dread Warlock because it literally have warlock in his name...

...And now that they did a mass of detectives creatures out of nowhere you are CONSCIOUSLY refusing to make all the past creatures that literally have "Detectives" in their name or they are clearly detectives or inspectors in the lore (like Jacob Hauken or Eloise) as Detectives? WHAT THE HELL?!
Is it only me or this decision literally makes NO SENSE and it's going to be painful and counterintuitive for the gameplay and touranement issues since dogged detective is literally in the same set among all the other DETECTIVES like him and people will just think the detective type is missing simply because of a misprint?

    important note on jetsam

"among cards milled this way" is not in the text so cards already there are targetable.

I literally said it, you should read the comments before posting lol

Each card you steal off the top of your opponent's deck is easily worth drawing two of your own.

Can you elaborate on your math there? I don’t see how.

probably he mean that in the long term, you have double the card advantage of your opponent (you are saving your resources while using his), even if from a practical viewpoint doesn't matter much most of the times.

Oh, also those are cards that are in exile and can be never discarded for any effect so I guess that counts too.

Jetsam is a BIG effect for an uncommon. I like this.

agree, thats a rare effect, totally crazy that is uncommon AND hybrid AND got a cheaper effect also hybrid if you need it, too.

You don't even have the restriction to cast only from the milled cards but any card already in the grave. My god.
