So if you win off the Ancestral Recall, both you and your opponents will leave feeling like it was on a fluke.

...which is exactly the whole point and concept of the card. Gambling must be something you don't have control over, and that's exactly what excite the gamblers. You feel good exactly because you won your mini-lottery, like a miracle from heaven. Sure, the card maybe it's not your coup of tea, but from here to say "it's no fun for anyone" there's an abyss.

Any particular reason why Vareer has you discard a card, copy the card, and cast the copy? Why not let you just... cast the Trap card without paying its mana cost?

Bobyl doesn't really seem like fun for anyone.

What? Discarding cards can be used a resource for graveyard shenaningans and at this point drawing 3 is just a nice lucky plus. So it's fun for the caster.
And if somehow you can't gain advantage from discard but you have to risk to lose precious resources, the risk of the gamble is fun for your opponents in that case lol.
You have a very limited and short-view idea of what is fun apparently.

I think it's since Time Spiral that we didn't see a really broken version of Timetwister. And by "broken" I mean something that actually can be even better than original Twister.

This makes Throes of Chaos look really bad as the "value from unwanted lands" card...

Throes of Chaos is still fun and Excellent in EDH and straight cast anything below 4 mana....Also, got combo potential.

Hm. This is a massive break with many years of color pie. I hope they know what they're doing. Pay life for a sacrifice could make sense to me.

To be fair, technically black was always been able to destroy any kind of permanent with enough mana spent or in the right board state....all that effects that makes the opponent sacrifice or choose between piles of permanents for example.

Delve, oh yeah. Now we just need at least a single card with Dredge and this set reach perfection.

I'm pretty sure the card's concept is a joke about the fact that despite being called "LLannowar's Elves" the card show just one mana producing 1/1 elf and this fix the concept right.

Well, WotC is really trying hard to push "snow-matter-deck" (other than Skred) for competitive play...Also, the fact that this Aura is a snow permanent, doesn't mean that you can tap the aura in the same turn you cast it for mana? Turn 1, this AND that 2/2 Golem with no drawbacks seems good to me.

Was I the only one reading "mothership spoilers ending" and thinking like "Wtf, already?!"

Very, very cool overall. Future Sight is a nice addition of the modern cardpoll but since we've already got the Magus of the Future legal, it would had be cooler to have another Magus having an ability of a card of a very cool effect that would lead to interesting combo applications (Mind Over Matter for example).

The Endling is a bit underwhelming (Undying is nice, but works only one time) while the red cascade spell is simply...wow. It's exactly the kind of stuff I love to do and to repeeat all over.

They really pushing to make snow deck a thing in modern huh.
I wished they did the same treatment for C....

but now that snow is also a casting cost....doesn't mean that is effectively a sixth color of magic in everything now?

It's nice to finally have a Yawgmoth card to put at the helm of my Phyrexia EDH deck.
Too bad he’s mono black though

If he got the same trick as Sisay somehow then we would have Ben able to use all the phyrexian focsued cards new and old

Good news though most of the phyrexian cards are black
The other colors would add very little, while making the mana base more complex/expensive. I'd been using Sheoldred as the commander, so it's fine.

Also as a monoblack player you can be really evil and play stuff like Contamination and Infernal Darkness...if you don't mind losing your friends forever, of course.

    EDIT:

And on a completely unrelated note:
    https://markrosewater.tumblr.com/post/185188178328/in-the-same-way-we-could-see-another-urza-from-a#notes

And this will finally end once and for all the non-sense of "We will never get a post-PW Urza or God-Yawgmoth because they would be too strong to be printed etc." and I will always quote this to whoever try to ever pull that argument again.
The coming of our Dark Lord is near!

Great. I always said that 4 mana were too much for make that effect worth play and the real errors were the non-Alpha reprints lol
Now give us that Hurricane in the true color it belongs to XD

    Good job, sherlock.

After hearing this joke every time a rare that is not Urza's level it became boring

Again, this is have NOTHING to do with the power level. The really funny fact is that this time we're talking about of a card was originally printed exclusively in a Commander set, hence the reference of "Commander's Horizon". If this card wasn't meant to be played in EDH, well what the hell, what then?! The joke was just all there.

    - From an EDH player that absolutely loves this set and want another 1000 of Commanders Horizon.

I wonder why this Commander set is called "Modern" Horizon.

    - Reprint a card that sees play in Legacy and might as such very well see Modern play
    - Still whine about "Commander Horizons"

    Good job.
