A few months ago I found a couple of these at Target and amongst the angels and [card=hamletback goliath] giants was a pack that had a foil elvish champion . It had the eighth edition art and set symbol printed on it instead of the promo symbol. Anyone know anything about that? Was it a mistake for it to be in there?
I really want the next block to be enemy colored shards. Forget all the Demon/Angel/Dragon shenanigans with Kaalia EDH, I want a Black/Red/White Minotaur general with reckoner , this guy, and a slew of other cow-warriors!
My friends and I have come up with what we think is a fun commander variant
What we do is have the teams paired up with their respective generals as lieutenants and the combined colors of the two teams have a general that either player can summon
Example if my partner is playing Izzet and in playing gruul
Then we must also have a RUG general for either of us to summon
This has seemed at least for us to make 2hg seem more flavorful
I like this idea, I've also considered something similar. 2HG meaning two heads so you and your partner share two commanders and can build decks with their combined mana colors. For example, if I want a Naya Human deck, I'm kind of limited for Commanders (just Johan, Jacque le Vert, and Hazezon Tamar ) However, if we share two commanders that have a combined mana colors for a naya (say[card=Thalia, Guardian of Thraben] Thalia and Stangg ) then your deck can be all 3 of those colors and either you or your partner could cast the commanders if they are in the commander zone. Your partner wouldn't have to have a naya deck either, but at least stay in those colors. So to go with my naya humans, they build a white weenie deck. they could then only cast the white commander, but I could cast either.
I haven't tested it yet, so i'm not sure how that would work.
I love Planeswalkers and Nissa was my first and favorite. Although narrow to elf decks, I was so happy when I got my first walker I didn't care. and she still sees use in my edh elf deck.
