Doesn't this also mean a much larger standard card pool? I like the idea of that, however it could make them more careful about printing powerful cards. We may start seeing bans in standard again
I feel like a general that has artifact synergy will be the best choice for an energy deck because most of the best energy cards are artifacts as are most of the best proliferate cards. Muzzio, Visionary Architect; Arcum Daggson; Sydri, Galvanic Genius; Karn, Silver Golem; and Sharuum the Hegemon all seem good for an energy deck, particularly the ones with blue for proliferate overlap.
How did this get to post 8 before helix pinnacle? Squall Line is a great win con that nobody ever really expects from the green deck. Burn the whole pod to death
This set has lots of good cards but many disappointments. First, fabricate seems about 1 mana over-costed in almost every case. I guess you're paying for the flexibility but it feels weak. Second, energy cards feel plain bad. The abilities on energy cards could just as easily be mana abilities and there are no real pay-offs or worthwhile sinks for energy. Also they missed an obvious opportunity to print a legend that cares about energy. My third problem with the set is Depala. I was excited to finally build a w/r ed deck when she was spoiled but they didn't include enough support. Maybe Aether Revolt will fix problems 2 and 3
Tezz appearing on an artifact-centric plane that just invented portal technology has worrisome implacations, especially in light of his recent association with the phyrexians. We should all remember what happened the last time they had access to portals......
Being a bit of a completionist, this makes me very happy. I already had a deck for every other color / combination (except w/r) and the 4c gap kept chewing on the ol' ocd nerve. Hoping conspiracy 2 fixes the w/r problem and then i will be sane. I can't possibly be alone in feeling this way
