I don't really see how niche formats like competitive edh, french, and leviathan are ever going to compete on a competitive level with what WotC does. Multiplayer's kitchen table appeal is one thing, but all of you are spinning your wheels against the machine right now. I think adopting Leviathan's list would've been best case, but right now I can't see communities outside of major French cities going with it over WotC.
I think Oloro is the only maybe glaring mistake, but I think it's fine to test since they'll ban regularly if need be. I'll definitely try this out as it's way superior to DC's current scheme.
Breya and Vial banned as Commanders, Yisan is back, and two more Moxen bite the dust. I'm really looking forward to what WotC will do for the real format though.
I'll try to compare what Reyhan Bruse does along with Jenara as I tune the build. I wonder why this color combo hasn't seen much development, even for multiplayer.
It looks like a solid list, I just miss some draw spells that are simply awesome like: Sylvan Library
Also, with Bruse, you could even go more agressive with less or no counterspells and more draw/acceleration, but I think a midrange deck would also work fine because that synergizes with Thrasio, Bruse's ability looks very relevant if you go the stompy direction. Anyway, Titania, Protector of Argoth and Oracle of Mul Daya are also very very good getting C.A, and Titania gets a LOT of power on the board with all the fetches + Wasteland effects. At 30HP I consider C.A one of the most important things to have, you have it via your partner, but I would put some more.
Definitely great advice and I will test it. I really love countermagic, but I see why Bruse wants more tap out. I kind of see this as a 4 color rafiq deck, but maybe that's the wrong approach?
Honestly, I have no clue whether to post in DC or here since there still isn't a lot of info on what the 1v1 banlist from WotC will look like though a lot of signs seem to point to Leviathan.
This deck is still really rough, but I think the colors and efficiency are there somewhere that it can compete with what's happening in French but with an extra 10 life.
I find it so funny that people think they can deal with Oloro, Erayo, Zur, Edric or Derevi... Weren't you guys around when these decks were played?
I find it so funny that you think that unbanning these would make a difference. At the moment DC is like:
Play Partner(Vial), Breya, Geist, Titania or Zurgo.
If the commanders you are referring to were unbanned it would just be 5 other commanders that would rule. Not that its better, but it aint worse either. And its not different. Its still broken.
EDIT: Actually, I would much rather play in a meta with Oloro, Erayo, Zur, Edric and Derevi than the meta we are seing now.
I think it'd be really interesting to see the broken generals of the past square off against the current crop, esp the red based ones.
I like that wizards is eyeing this format, but at the same time going back to 30 is basically sending us back in time to our old problems (and with it the never-ending debate of whether or not these problems are really problems), which prompted the life total change in the first place. I sigh. I've been wishing for 25 life since forever, since I feel like it's a nice midpoint for both 30 life decks and 20 life decks to adjust and coexist, but it just never comes up. We'll never know of course, but if the life was lowered to 25 instead of 30, maybe wizards would have spoken to the duel committee instead of the leviathan people.. Nothing against leviathan, but if I were forced to pick between 20 and 30, it'd be 20. This is coming from a guy whose deck became completely unplayable after the drastic life lowering.
But wizards recognizing 1v1 commander is a great way to reunite the player base, so there's that.
So back to when the format was playable? Looking at the results the DC Committee decided that midrange/combo/control should be replaced by R/x aggro and 6-7 decks should be 2-3 decks due to colors?
The DC committee made the change for the right reason. Unfortunately since wizards doesnt care about DC at all they screwed the format up with commander 2016. In the time between 20 life and commander 2016 there was a lot of different decks being played. Who knows how many were just people experimenting with the new format, but it seemed to be more diverse than the UWx vs Gx that the format was before.
Why should they care about DC? It's an extremely niche format that they don't run. EDH by a lot of estimates is the most popular constructed format played since its appeal is for kitchen table magic which is the vast majority of the game. They keep creating better and more creative EDH products every year that's certainly designed for more life. I hope they continue to do this too because it's only grown the format.

Wednesday should be the announcement
I think "next" means next week.
