Besrs: ok this is the third time mono green got a wrath that gets artifacts and enchantments technically two since Rampage of the Clans barely ever gets used (Ps: I understand the lore the polar bears are coming In since it’s getting colder)
spider: that loot ability is a little expensive
Yeah, but the creature itself is kind of playable outside of the loot ability so it should probably be expensive. Like it's really strong against aggro decks.
Yeah people can still cast 7 mana spells they just can't float 7 mana so decks like storm will have issues or if you cast Apex of Power. Losing the game is also sort of a randomly harsh penalty. Considering Ichor Wellspring costs 2 mana you could just slap 'if an ability would cause a player to have more than 6 mana in pool instead that ability adds 0 and the pool empties' to it and keep it at 2 with no real issue.
It seems worse than Robber of the Rich for older formats and cube. Probably standard playable, but sort of easy to deal with by using non damage removal or blocking other things.
Necropotence Kozilek, Butcher of Truth
When you discard Kozilek you will have two triggers from the same event. Necropotence trying to exile the card and from Kozilek trying to shuffle your GY into your deck. Because you control both triggers in this case you choose how they are put on to the stack and as a result how they resolve. So if you resolve Kozilek's trigger first your yard is shuffled in to your library and the Necropotence trigger does nothing. If you do the reverse order then Kozilek gets exiled and the rest of your yard is shuffled in to your library.
Overall a lot of good choices. Not all of them were what I would have picked for that year, but all of them are at least playable cards from that year. Except for Nashi who I've never seen played.
I agree with steve_man. Gurmag is third behind Tasigur and Tombstalker for B delve creatures and there are just so many others like Kroxa (not technically delve) Murktide Regent, etc that having him is just not great.
It will depend on how much other haste is in the cube I think. Over 2 turns this has the same damage output as any other 2 power haster and 2 drop haste with late game value is pretty common (Earthshaker Kenra, Robber of the Rich, Bloodthirsty Adversary) and that's not even going in to reds 2 drops without haste. I just see too often the opponent having an x/2 and this thing no longer swinging because of it.
Each Annointed Peacekeeper adds a tax separately so if you name Anger of the Gods twice then it should cost 5RR to cast Anger of the Gods. If the situation is as you described then it would be a bug, but without a screenshot or gamelog it's hard to see whether they had some other mana maker, cost reducer, or even if one of the Peacekeepers had been a misclick on the wrong thing.
Prowling Geistcatcher has a triggered ability that exiles a card from the GY after it has been sent there. Isareth however has a replacement ability that exiles the card before it ever hits the GY so Geistcatcher will never be able to exile the card from the GY. So you will never be able to return a creature that was brought back with Isareth through Geistcatcher.
It's an interesting form of recursion that's for sure. I'm not sure it's really all that good in normal combat, but maybe in like a cube or commander deck it can combo with something like Bone Splinters where because his trigger resolves before the spell you just get him back immediately.
Correct. Lae'zel doesn't really see Oath of Gideon for all intents and purposes. If Oath of Gideon was a triggered ability then it would, but because Oath just modifies an event Lae'zel doesn't happen with it.
I am also thinking mainly in Gx builds (in Standard), not just mono G. Restocking your hand with more big beasties seems pretty decent.
Yeah but you need 4 creatures with different powers to look for and you get the worst two of those 4. Storm the Festival just seems like a far, far better card.
I'm not sure what Planeswalker you are referencing so I am going to assume Teferi, Time Raveler's +1 which allows you to cast spells as though they have flash.
The answer to your question is that the two effects are not contradictory. One says you may cast spells as though they have flash and the other says you can only cast spells on your turn. If you had say Snapcaster Mage in hand with Fires of Invention out then you could only cast it during your own turn and it's the same way here. You may cast spells only on your own turn, but you may cast them as though they have flash.
