not sure about Burning-Tree Shaman, i thought i put it on, i can see the rallier is there for some reason, so i mustve put him in instead.
With red, comes a decent sweeper in for 3 to curve in perfectly from wish in turn 2, not to mention nahiri. as i just noticed theres also only 59 in that list, cause i forgot to add emrakul (ill just edit it, turns out no sleep makes writing decklists worse, who wouldve thought lol).
but in any case, i found nahiri emrakul to be one of the most reliable finishers outside hawk.
I dont really like black, well knowing what it adds to the selection. My experience with it, is that it sort of grinds only for the sake of grinding. Its too reliant of being on 30+ life. Dont get me wrong though it has the tools to stay above, with probably more good cards than any other color, but its more topdeckdependant in the lategame over any other version. On avarage the general player is so bad that theres enough wasted time, when you technically already have won with the deck and they refuse to give up. I dont like having to waste more time than nescesary. Nahiri closes out games fast. And at worst acts as removal or carddraw/filtering (depending on having hawks or not).
I looked at fiery justice, as it sortof can maybe deal with a resolved karn. naya charm seems to cost at least 1 mana too much for what its capable of. ajani offers a slow wincon compared to nahiri, and his removal/protection package is about the same, yet ofc you dont have to add another "useless" card to the deck. overall i find nahiri better but i think it depends on the style of the deck.
I find Gideon of the trials decent even as a 1of. The big one is great as a 1of too, the fact that the big one work of small one is just better.
Rallier and crucible doesnt fill out the same slot at all. Crucible is a wincon that can stabilize early. Rallier is a synergistic card that will help on whatever is needed at any point in the game, but can by no means carry himself. Hes borderline winmore, but hes so good all the time.
been considering changing a wall of omens with a wayfarer, but in all the times ive played with him only twice has he actually done anything impactful.
the GDD is basically just a fast finisher that makes draws less likely to happen. it sort of seals the deal. i feel like its not a hard slot to replace as its usually the first thing i sb out.
And how do you justify the switch from Leylines to 2 halos and a crumble?
Also after trying your old list for a bit, i found myself never actually needing the nahiri package (which seems insane), and im actually considering ditching it for some more dedicated SBcards.
Leylines are a must IMO; at least SB.
That said, the Nahiri package is rarely a must, but it's a low cost (looting + removal is good without ulting her) option to close out the game sometimes. I often find I'll side out a single Nahiri when I dont feel as pressed for closing sleep.
no i meant i dont even feel like shes worth the 5 slots in sb in the tax build.

You can always hurry people up in a nice way, or at least raise the discussion in general that people play too slow. Its a way to get better at magic =)
ive said it before, and ill say it again. if you go to time alot, even with this deck, youre even having slow players at your lgs or youre a slow player yourself. if you feel your opponents arent playing quick enough, hurry them up, in a polite way ofc(theres no need to be an ass, esp at casual events like fnm). if you feel like you take too much time yourself, practice alone or with some friends, only to speed up the process of making decissions. as a wise judge once said on stream (cant remember who): if you cant play faster than required, then it just makes you a worse magic player, and thats only your problem, not everyone else's.
if all else fails, make sure to win game 1 at least, then you dont have to worry too much about time =)
atm im somewhat happy with my build, especially with the manabase (finally found the magic place to be between fetches and shocks, and still being able to play flagstones with crucible), - though i think ill try and experiment with nahiri, as i have the cards anyways, might as well give it a whirl.
my tests with the two sorins ends out with lord of innistrad is the better of the two. solemns ult is by far better and in most cases gamewinning, but the fact that his + abbility is more or less useless makes him not as good. lord gives a blocker when you + him.
i tried it. i didnt like the fact that it didnt really have an immediat on the board. in most cases it was as bad as ascendant when below 30. takes too much effort to make threatening, you cant tutor for it or renimate it. the worst part about is that you have to pay mana to activate it. even if you play it turn one, its not big enough to kill stuff untill turn 8-10ish, and thats if youve only played removal, but at that point its probably okay at that point, though most other threats are as well.
