Main Deck
-2 Eidolon of the Great Revel
-1 War-Name Aspirant
+3 Volley Dasher
Because after play testing most turns I want a turn 2 creature to follow up my t1 Foundry Street Denizen and most games the War-Name Aspirant just made for lackluster t2 plays, that being said I still like to follow up my turn 3 Rabblemaster with a turn 4 removal spell and have the goblin suicide himself into an opp to get a 3/2 out of my Aspirant.
As for side board I have went with
-2 Harness by Force
+2 Eidolon of the Great Revel
+2 Seismic Stomp
+2 Trumpet Blast
The Seismic Stomps have been awesome against Monsters, Temur, and G Devotion. They push through those last few points of damage that would normally give us the little bit of trouble.
Don't know what last 4 sideboard cards will be, but playing the deck so far this deck is insane. The Akroan Hoplites have actually been amazing as psuedo rabblemasters 5+6 in testing and ride down has been really good. I am considering adding the last 2 of them to the sideboard because they do really well to push through rabblemaster damage. I really dislike losing the young pyromancer for this deck though and am considering adding trumpet blast as the other last 2 sideboards.
He also can grab the new o-ring and detention sphere. Post side he can also grab a lot of other valuable pieces like mistcutter hydra, and a few others.
Also with this deck he is also just as valuable at getting unneeded lands off the top of your deck, and if he does ultimate it will be about impossible for your opp to catch back up.
Yea, I am already reworking my esper control deck into bant control just because of Ajani, and your thoughts of him as a 2 of is just about right. It also opens up green sideboard options which mean I will also be running some BoG's cards finally which aren't lands haha
ALSO, I can really see Turbo Fog and Maze's End decks being on a big rise because like the last poster said, they are getting some big key cards for their strategy that they really needed to work. My only problem with this type of deck being tier 1 is the fact that boros burn is still a deck
You'd need to add some serious creatures into that bant list to make remotely worth-it use of Ajani.
Why is ajani a bad card for bant control when there are already going to be 42 permanents in the deck with the new o-ring that is going to be printed... I think the new ajani's +1 = look at the top 4 cards add 1 to your hand. I think it will prove to be a really good Super Friends deck in the end
Well with the spoilers so far I can see a few big changes to the meta now. One thing, Black White humans could actually be a big deck with the new god that was spoiled. I think a lot more decks will run enchantment hate now that there are going to be a lot more gods running around in the main decks of the format. Mono Black will definitely be running Lifebane Zombies main decked if Black White makes as big of an impact as I think it might. I really can't wait to see what is left for this set to offer to the decks of the format.

Or, they could throw us all for a loop and put a Theros planeswalker and a m14 planeswalker in a deck together since they will both be rotating out of standard at the same time
I think if Nissa is indeed a planeswalker in the set I could seriously see tribal being a returning subtheme, but not really the mechanic.... maybe with that Champion could return
True, I mean it would be odd to see BUG duel decks again, but I mean the only others that I could really see after talking through this is maybe Ashiok vs Elspeth (they normally like to put really expensive walkers in one spot) or Ashiok vs Xenagos, maybe making it a Ashiok ruler of dreams having hopes to become a god, as Xenagos did and Xenagos declairing war against him for trying
Well to answer the first topic, the duel decks have more recently featured 2 Planeswalkers in the block that are about to leave Standard. Since, they have changed them to be printed as the first duel deck of the year contrary to how they used to be the second duel deck of the year. So, that takes out Sarkhan... but megadog, you do make a great point with Ashiok and Kiora. I was forgetting they normally don't do main story line conflicts like what Xenagos vs Elspeth or Xenagos vs Ajani would be. So, I could really see them doing an Ashiok vs Kiora duel deck, and would actually like that a lot because I really want Ashiok with some other art options.... I just hope they don't butcher his duel deck version like they did with Jace in his most recent duel deck....
On a side note too, I think the figure is a spoiler of Nissa being in the next core set, and I would find it amazing if the returning mechanic was Tribal, a lot like them bringing slivers back but way better. I mean I would love a throw back to the days of drafting Onslaught haha.
