You're just wrong. The creatures in this deck are the only creatures I want to be playing, besides any sideboard options, any other creatures would disrupt the explosiveness of this deck, I can outpace affinity if they don't get a Vault Skirge and Cranial out quickly, I make other aggro deck like Fish seem like control decks. This deck is fast, REALLY FAST, and not only do I do a lot of dmg, I'm continually flooding my board with creatures that get fatter and fatter. Therefore, the cantrips get me to those creatures, because these creatures have synergy! You really are just talking a bunch of bull***** I'll be honest, any deck that uses Cantrips like this, are digging for the combo pieces, and in a sense this is a combo deck. It's explosive like a combo deck, and chains a bunch of spells like a combo deck.

I'd listen to you more if I was losing games. Right now, I'm killing it. Quick wins, easy wins. Great consistency.

IT's very common that I throw down 3 creatures on turn 1, then using Chord off of them for free allows me to ramp up my mana. Dryad is a tech that probably I'm not surprised wouldn't make sense to some noobs. XD

Manamorphose is a free spell, the thins the deck and draws into the creatures we want to cast, plus it can fix our mana. I have black mana producing lands and Beastcaller Savant to produce black mana as well.

  • posted a message on Grandeur Stompy
I posted about this like 3 years ago. I'm trying to abuse the Grandeur ability on Linessa, Zephyr Mage or Oriss, Samite Guardian.

This build is similar to the most current and best Sea Stompy Arrow Left (click to view), build that I've seen.

So in this deck the combo is between the interaction from Sword of Light and Shadow and the Grandeur ability. I play a Linessa, Zephyr Mage discard another Linessa putting my opponent behind. I equip a Sword on an evasive creatures and then every turn I can return a Linessa to hand and discard it. Alternately, if I manage to ultimate Tamiyo, the Moon Sage, I can just reuse the grandeur ability infinitely at any time. I have Intuition to search for combo pieces or it can also get 3 Force of Will if I need to counter something. Vedalken Æthermage can fetch for another Linessa or a Trinket Mage. He can also be recurred with the Sword to fetch again. Misthollow Griffin is an evasive creature that is great with Force and Chrome Mox, and is included in the current version of Sea Stompy. Trinket mage is also a cornerstone of Blue Stompy decks as it can fetch Seat of the Synod, Chalice of the Void, or Mox Diamond. I would love some help brewing a deck that abuses the extremely powerful Grandeur abilities of these two ladies. Oriss, Samite Guardian's is arguably stronger, but I can't imagine it would work in a stompy build. This deck isn't competitive.... yet, although I have beat top tier decks :), but it's the best list I've come up with so far. I took a game off Deathblade game 1and the opponent tilted, raged and quit. Typical Legacy player, eh? I just beat a Thopter Foundry Wizards tribal deck. I've only tested it a few times, and it's a blast.

At the moment, it feels easier to assemble some combo pieces in blue because we have Intuition. The best card for this deck would be Endbringer's Revel, but I can't seem to fit it in, maybe because I'm only using a Stompy shell and it's black, Frown but with high CC cards I can only imagine a Stompy build would work.

    Additional Notes:
Sword of Light and Shadow is actually very good on it's own, it protects from most of the best removal in the format, Swords to Plowshares and Dismember. I have Sword of Fire and Ice from the blue and red matchup and Lightning Bolts.

There's also Tortured Existence for a non-Stompy build, which could be paired with something like Squee, Goblin Nabob

With Oriss, it's similar to some decks that were trying to abuse Isochron Scepter and Orim's Chant. I wonder if there is a deck out there for this combo.

    UPDATE:

So I just played two matches vs Eldrazi and won both! First match went 2-0 then 2-1. Sided out Chalice for Back to Basics and a Pithing Needle to name Wasteland. Wasteland is the bane of Stompy decks. I would even run two Pithing Needle in this deck because Eldrazi is so popular and a Wasteland can be very lethal. That's 5 sources with 3 Tinker Mages. There was only 1 game in which I got the loop off with Linessa and Sword and the game ended with them having 0 permanents on the battlefield!! XD I had to troll him after that one. "I said this was supposed to be competitive why did you bring that ***** deck to the table." Even if I don't get the loop off I can win with tempo play by activating Linessa.

Actually I wasn't trying to force Death's Shadow into this at all, there have been many decks that have been built with a shell of free pain-cyclers. I built this long before that deck came on the scene. I mean maybe I can add 1 more land or something, but the point of this is to power out a bunch of spells, and although they have higher CC, they are actually lower because they can be reduced by our Treefolk guy. Burning-Tree Emmissary is a free spell and I have SSG. I've added Beastcaller Savant, which not only helps me chain creatures, but also fixes mana and ramps. He's perfect for what I'm trying to do. I'm having loads of fun playing this deck because it is actually winning.

I think I started 2 years ago with a midrangy more aggro version like most lists I've seen, but I can't imagine those are any more competitive than this one. I've won games against Eldrazi, Jund, some U/x/x decks and Affinity.

As for the sideboard, I think it's mostly meta dependent, I'm really not sure which cards are best and I haven't tested them all, but here's my current 15

1x Tunnel Ignus- Vs scapeshift and Titan this is a must
1x Ingot Chewer - if there's artifacts that are wrecking us like Ensnaring Bridge, he is the most fetchable option so I think he is absolutely necessary
1x Stigma Lasher - good vs any life gain that tries to buy extra time and can stop a Finks Combo, it doesn't actually need to deal combat dmg for the effect, so just attacking with a counter and a Rageforger will do the trick
1x Mindsparker - vs blue and white decks
1x Reclamation Sage - this guy does the trick
2x Blood Moon - I think this card is too good vs some decks not to include
2x Ancient Grudge - Affinity is a popular deck, and this his other things too, and since we are green Creeping Corrosion deserves a mention, as it is the single best card vs Affinity
    1x Fulminator Mage
    1x Ancient Grudge
    1x Minister of Pain
    2x Ancient Grudge
1x Eyes of the Wisent - not sure if this is better than Vexing Shusher or Mindsparker but I can fetch with Flameking and Chord into Flamekin. I can Cavern a Shusher into play, but at that point, I don't really need to worry about counter spells, because I only have 1 set of non creature spells in my deck that they want to counter, Haven't had a chance to actually use it and it's not like we can sneak him into play with a Cavern. The only way to deal with Mindsparker is with removal. Otherwise, he will demolish them.

Cards that I think are more meta dependent
1x Burning-Tree Shaman - Kiki and twin combos don't seem to common right now, but this guy does the trick
1x Stoneshaker Shaman This guy might just be the nuts vs blue instant control decks, as he forces them to tap out or suffer a Stone Rain every turn

    I didn't see their sideboard

So someone played against me with this list and beat me, so and I though the combo was cool, so I tried it out using their list maybe although I didn't see like 3 cards in their deck. So far it has sucks ballsacks, maybe this is a bad list although it's not far off from what I've seen. One disruption spell and it's feel like it's GG. Also, the fact that the KFC guy has Mortuary Mire in his deck leads me to believe he is an amateur deck builder. That card doesn't work with Enduring Renewal. If anyone can tell me what the best list is right now, that they'v actually play tested I'd like to know.

Like a play a bunch of crap spells, they disrupt a combo, then I'm praying that I topdeck consecutive combo pieces and they safely get through. Also I seem to be drawing 50 lands a game, maybe just my ***** luck out of the 4 games I've played or just way too many lands for a relatively low curve deck. It needs to be able to recover quickly from counter spells and removal reliably. I'm usually into deck brewing but I'm brewing like a billion other decks right now so I'd appreciate if someone who has a lot of experiece with this deck against really people does the legwork. Not just someone who has go-fished a bunch of times.

I don't see how this deck can be any close to consistent with only 15 lands, and the Street Wraith
don't make any sense here (except for fueling Tasigur, the Golden Fang that also doesn't really belong in an aggro deck imho).
I would play more lands over these black creatures and SSG.

And also running all the cycling effects (Street Wraith/Gitaxian Probe) doesn't help you kill the opponent like Lightning Bolt or Atarka's Command and only makes you more vulnerable to Burn.

The point of Street Wraith is to cycle, I am not trying to cast this card, I want to dig through our deck to find get my key pieces and as a plus we can exile him to Tasigur. Actually, he fits fine in an aggro deck that can easily cast him for 1 on turn 2 and 3.

You are talking about this deck as if you have no idea how it functions, you should test it first and then come back and I'll listen more. I'm winning matches vs top tier 1 decks, so I'm happy with the list.

This deck is actually very similar to a deck that just came on the scene and is now considered Tier 1 called Death's Shadow Aggro, Death's Shadow is not even the worst card in this deck, but not as good as in their deck. That deck doesn't run many lands, I've tested it and find it to be more inconsistent than this deck.

I posted this list a few years ago, and I don't think I would really make many significant changes, but I don't recall thinking about Beastcaller Savant, he could be an option actually. I think this deck is best as an explosive combo type deck. My version is really fast, so fast that some top tier deck just can't deal with the initial siege. It is pretty resilient and I can come back from a Pyroclasm, I can even avoid it by casting a fast Rageforger and pumping up my creatures' toughness.

Some people say they don't like Chord of Calling because it's slow, and while I agree it might be slow in other versions, in my deck it extremely fast (faster than Collected Company) and not only speeds up the deck but makes it more consistent. I have 12 sources for Rageforger! This mean I can consistently cast 3-4 Rageforgers in a game if need be. I can also run a toolkit of creatures in Sideboard to fetch with Chord, and it's really nice because I can get them on the battlefield instantly, where as Fauna Shaman is super slow. Shamanism wants to play Ragerforgers, and my deck sticks to the gameplay; pump out a bunch of creatures and then drop Rageforgers over and over again, which make them fat and do unblockable damage. It runs 14 lands but it also runs lots of pseudo-Cyclers so mana isn't really an issue and I'll take no land hands sometimes. The only things that I think could use tweaking perhaps would be the "finishers," or one-of's, although probably just sideboard cards. I don't really want to start grinding with the top decks in the format. I want to apply pressure fast and hard, and I can get card advantage by making them chump block. Right now, I even run 2 copies of Tasigur, the Golden Fang, because not only can I pump out a 4/5 body for 1 mana fast in this deck, he can be some insurance if I do need to grind a bit. I also have a singleton Scavenging Ooze because the card is an All-Star that has good synergy with Rageforger, is cheap, and does help to produce a big body if I need it. Eternal Witness may be unnecessary but it's nice being able to recur a Rageforger a yet a 13th source!!! Rageforgers will be the target for all removal.

Dryad Arbor is rough to run as a land in a deck that has a tight mana base, but it is actually a tech included to improve the mana base because it's so good with Chord as it can be fetched for 0, all I need to do is drop 3 creatures, it can ramp our mana when fetched with Chord at the end of opponents turn.

I would say the biggest thing that needs changing is the Sideboard, I haven't put much though into that recently, I just got back to this deck today, after years of Hiatus

Cards that I'm considering for Sideboard or for inclusion in the Mainboard
    Elementals:

I like the idea of my one-of's being Elemental because they are more fetchable than Shamans. We can Chord into them, or Flamekin into them, or Chord into Flamekin into them. If we run 1 of an Elemental we actually have 9 sources for that card!! VERY NICE! SAYS BORAT

Chandra's Spitfire - OMFG if I'm correct which I'm pretty sure I am this card is ridiculous with Rageforger, 3 creatures with 3 counters on them attack? That means +9+0 for this nasty garbage fire!
Tunnel Ignus - great vs fetch lands, and a free win vs Scapeshift and Titanshift, seems like this is as must in the sideboard just because of that fact
Stigma Lasher - good in some matchups I'm sure, Timely and Batterskull and Vault Skirge come to mind.
Crackleburr - meh, I can see a world where this is fine, just not doing what this deck really wants to do
Hell's Thunder - Evasion and big body with haste that we can use twice, might be a nice finisher
Inner-Flame Acolyte- This is a Shaman and an Elemental! I like this card a lot. Seems like it's meant to be put into a deck with Chandra's Pitfire
Mindsparker - totally wrecks Black and Green decks, basically says, especially Mono-green decks running Brainstorm, sure they can dig for removal and take a punches from this guy to the noggin.
Necroskitter - A lot of decks will run Kitchen Finks vs this, so this guy might be a must for the side as well. The double black is a turnoff, but not totally.
Sulfur Elemental - this has got be a one of in the sideboard
Offalsnout - I feel like we can do better for graveyard hate, and this guy is ugly anyways
Fulminator Mage - classic card, it's Shaman AND an Elemental, I'm not sure what matchup I want this in yet, but it's going straight to the sideboard, may even be maindeck worthy
Spitebellows - fetchable single target removal
Ingot Chewer - same issues as Spetebellows, but he can be fetched more easily than Reclamation Sage and that's worth noting
Cloudthresher - not sure when this card would shine, but it's here because it has a unique effect
Subterranean Shambler - tech vs 1/1 or a deck running only dorks
Hellfire Mongel - if this deck has a matchup that ends in a stalled boardstate for some reason, this guy is a clock, yet condition, there may be a matchup out there where is he goes online reliably

    Top Picks:
Tunnel Ignus, Stigma Lasher, Mindsparker, Fulminator Mage, Necroskitter, Sulfur Elemental

    Shamans:
Burning-Tree Shaman - Everyone that plays this deck knows this card, very good, I'm not sure I would include in my mainboard
Prophetic Flamespeaker - cool card, hits hard with some counters, and can be a card advantage engine
Troll Ascetic - maybe just a worse version of Thrun, 1 mana difference is big in a fast deck though
Thrun, the Last Troll - I'm not sure this guys is necessary, but it's nice have the great Thrun as an option
Stoneshaker Shaman - this card is really interesting, has a super powerful effect and could be great vs controllish decks, as it forces them to tap out
Minister of Pain - I run black mana so an Cavern so I can cast him, and he could be good against a bunch of 1/1's, from a timely Timely Reinforcements
Firemantle Mage - He could be a good finisher, but when I look at him I think there there might be a better option. The fact that his effect is useful when he enters the battlefield is nice, but since we want to win on the turn he enters most likely, an Elemental that is more fetchable might be better than this guy.
Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh - I can't imagine playing this, it just seems slow and bad for our deck
Exuberant Firestoker - Idk, I just wanted to list it here so I don't forget about it. I'm sure it's bad, but it does produce mana and if somehow a card pops up that I want to include which consistently gets on the battlefield with power equal to 5, I might reconsider this one for sure.
Mul Daya Channelers Seem slow without haste, I look at the mana produces and I see "combo" written on them, but they would need haste to create some kind of chain, with a draw engine. Glimpse of Nature is banned though Frown We can buff these pretty ladies by putting a creatures on top with Flamekin, not reliably enough though
Primal Forcemage - again I see combo written on this card; drop a bunch of dudes and give them haste swing for a bajillion
Pyrewild Shaman - combat trick that can be cast and recurred, maybe worth inclusion as a on-of
    Little Girl - Just Kidding
Goblin Ruinblaster - I love this guy, we can play him for cheaper, and I really think this bad boy might be included, maybe just for the sideboard. It's competing with Fulminator Mage for that slot (both shamans). The fact that he has haste might make him favorable.
Satyr Nyx-Smith seems slow and bad and slow, would need to combo with something to warrant inclusion
Vexing Shusher I could see this guy being great in the sideboard, making sure our Chords and final Rageforger and other finishers get through if we can sneak him into play
Tajuru Preserver - is this effect worth boarding in vs Liliana, meh I'm not so sure, but it could be vs Eldrazi's All is Dust and similar sacrificial wrath effects
    Ulvenwald Tracker Creature killer
Sensation Gorger Potentiall super-slow card engine, but we can put a creature on top with Flamekin
Wild Beastmaster - if she's buffed then she can help to do a bajillion kazillion damage, but that's hard to do fast, as she's a 3 drop
seem more like finisher card text and I'd rather have a card with this type of effect that does it's thing when it ETB or something like my Mainboard Shared Animosity
Eyes of the Wisent - sweet card that most importantly can be put on top with Flamekin and might be great vs Mono White...
Essense Warden - all the life I lose from my painlands and paintrips will be an issues vs some fast decks, so a way to gain life could be essential for the sideboard

    Top Picks:
Burning Tree Shaman, Firemantle Mage, Thrun, the Last Troll, Eyes of the Wisent, Wild Beastmaster, Vexing Shusher,Tajuru Preserver, Ulvenwald's Tracker, Pyrewild Shaman, Goblin Ruinblaster, Eyes of the Wisent, Prophetic Flamespeaker

Cards for a more combo version:
Sootstoke Kindler - I see this as a combo card, probably not for my version, but maybe for a version that includes Chandra's Spitfire
Generator Servant another card to use with Chandra's Spit
    Grinning Ignus

Ok, so I changed my list a bit. I"ve tested a bit, but not a ton. I've played vs a lot of the top decks. Quite a bit of words below, but good words, bare with me. I've put quite a bit of though into this deck, so if you're looking to play a competitive version, I would read this for insight.
As much as I like winter orb, it's not a card I want to play before I've established my board. This is why I'm I put a singleton Hokori, Dust Drinker (Winter Orb on legs) in the maindeck before (though I've taken it out for now), so that I could drop it after I'm ahead on board and hopefully prevent an opponent from stabilizing. It can be fetched with Recruiter. I'm just not sure it's worth it maindeck, maybe a sideboard card.
I forgot how useful Suppression Field is vs fetch lands, and we do have a tax theme in this deck. It just makes a lot of cards mana sinks, and seems to really slow down opponents a lot as you establish pressure on board. It's also a white card to exile to Chrome Mox, unlike Winter Orb. The only drawback it has is making Karakas's ability cost 2 more, which is not very relevant. Sanctum Prelate seems fantastic as it's ability will be useful every game. It can act as another Chalice vs spell heavy decks, and it can protect itself which is very cool. Being able to protect your Chalice or from Abrupt Decay is very nice. This card is the best card vs Abrupt decay. Chalice for 1 and then dropping this for 2 means they can't really deal with your board with any type of spot removal. The only way out of that is with that I've seen is with Krosan Grip or an immediate Liliana response. I like the cost reducers as they help me drop my hand fast putting pressure and getting key hate cards out as fast as possible, also potentially lessening the pain of not having a mana accelerating land in your opening hand. I don't want to draw too many Banneret, so I included 3. I'm fine with 4 Warchief's as this guy makes all your first strike creatures enormous and puts serious pressure on the opponent.

About your sideboard; I feel like there are better cards than O-ring, sure it answers any nonland permanent, but I would choose cards for sideboard that can completely shut down another deck and can be fetched with Recruiter. If you do want an o-ring effect, I think Council's Judgment is strictly better, but an argument could be made against it because we run Thalia. I have a nice toolkit of Hatebears that I will have 4 sources of in my deck with 3x Recruiter. I'm not sure Leyline of Sanctity is necessary, maybe Aegis of the Gods is better in this deck. I haven't actually played vs Storm, so I've never used this card. I'm sure my sideboard can be tweaked.

I do like the IDEA of not playing cost reducers, allowing for more hate cards maindeck, I'm just not sure it's the best option. I'm curios what your list is drmarkb. It would also make me more incentivized to play Trinisphere although I'd still have reservations.

I'm not a fan of having cards in hand I can't cast reliably and relatively quickly if need be, so maindecking Captain of the Watch is questionable, I would only run it as a one of (although it can't be fetched unlike Warchief, which is a turnoff), and there are other hate cards I want in this deck more.

Also, wondering if a Mangara of Corondor can find his way as a one of in this deck because we are running Recruiter and Karakas. It seems unnecessary especially in a list with Suppression Field.

I think it's wise to talk about matchups
I will mention cards from my sideboard or cards that are a hot topic for debate, like Suppression Field or Sanctum Prelate

Miracles: Suppression Field hits their fetchlands, Sensei's Divining Top, Jace, the Mindsculpor. Sanctum Prelate can name 1,2, or 6 to prevent Terminus, and possibly even 4 to stop a Jace. War Priest of Thune can hit a top or counterbalance. Revoker can hit Jace or Top. Ratchet bomb can kill Angel tokens immediately

Lands: Containment priest shuts down Dark Depths and does Karakas, also Prelate or Chalice for two and they can't Life from the Loam or Punishing Fire. Suppression Field hits Maze of Ith, Rishadan Port, Wasteland, Thespian's Stage. A lot of cards that hit this deck hard, this is a good matchup.

Death and Taxes: Suppression Field affects a lot of targets; Stoneforge, Equipments, Rishadan Port, Wasteland, Aether Vial, and Mother of Runes. Phyrexian Revoker hits all these targets as well.

Eldrazi: This is the hardest matchup for us, nigh unwinnable. I'd imagine First Strike is the most relevant ability in this matchup. It's not relevant unless we get a bunch of Warchief's on the table. We need to figure out how to beat this deck. I have some options below. Crackdown? Intrepid Hero? Please help!!! ahhhhhhh!!!

Infect aka. Berserk Stompy: Suppression Field hits fetchlands, Pendelhaven, Inkmoth Nexus. I think sideboard needs more answers to Blighted Agent and Inkmoth Nexus. I have ratchet bomb which can kill their non land creatures, although unreliably as I only have 2 copies in SD, but no way of dealing with Blinkmoth and no blocker for it.

Deathblade: Stoneforge decks seem like they could be tough, but not necessarily a bad matchup, as we can slow them down for sure. I could see a Leonin Relic-Warder maybe coming in to kill an equipment, and possibly even disenchant. Maybe Manriki-Gusari? Probably better in a Stoneforge deck.

Grixis Pyromancer: I have not played this matchup

Combo Elves: Containment Priest is good vs Natural Order, and Ethersworn Canonist is probably even better vs combo Elves. Ratchet bomb is a very nice one. Why not play all of them!? Suppression Field hits Fetchlands, Quirion Ranger and Wirewood Symbiote which is huge

BUG Control: this seems like a tough matchup, they have a 3 mana sweeper, mainboard 3-4 abrupt decay and maelstrom pulse and spells that cost 0,1,2,3 ND 4 which makes Chalice worse. Sanctum prelate would be good in a game like this. Multiples even better. Man I just wish I could somehow run like 4 of this card, maybe in the sideboard. Suppression field hits fetches and wastelands.

Storm: Board in Aegis of the Gods, Leyline of Sanctity, and Ethersworn Canonist. Suppression Field hit lands and not much else. I haven't played this, but these cards seem very effective to me. Can Storm beat a opening hand Leyline?? At least not with Tendrils of Agony. Maybe that's why people run 4. I suppose Empty the Warrens could be an issue.
Cards I'm considering for inclusion and EXclusion.

Loxodon Gatekeeper first I'd like ti highlight this card. I was playing this card before Thalia 2.0 came out. I didn't see anyone else running it. I realized how powerful that effect is, and this card was one of the allstars before. Now we have 6 copies, to reliably get this affect going, and his effect is quite a bit more powerful for just 1 more mana.

Sanctum Prelate: this card is sexy. It makes me want to ditch Soldiers and just do a human theme. A turn 1 Chalice into turn 2 this guy seems nigh unbeatable for many decks. Having this card as basically a chalice on legs vs Spell heavy decks is absurd. You can name ANY number. This blows Meddling Mage out of the water. It's a 3 mana Iona, Shield of Emeria in many cases. I should probably be maindecking it.

Selfless Spirit seems like an essential card to add to this deck vs any control deck running Wrath effects. It can be fetched with Recruiter!! Mostly this is just good vs Pyroclasm and Abrupt Decay. All is Dust and Terminus don't give a care about this card

Originally I thought Palace Jailer would be broken in legacy, but after thinking a bit longer I'm not so sure. You want to play it vs creatures, but the problem is that creatures deal combat damage to you and which results in dethronement. This would be horrible thing to happen especially vs a control deck like Miracle's or Delver I'd imagine. You could potentially give them a free card every turn, and the more cards they have, the less chance you will have of regaining the throne. It's a high risk high reward card, and I would only play it if we can make it a low risk high reward card. Maybe it's just matchup dependent. It's true that in a grind match, or relatively stalled board state, this card could just take over the game. I WOULD love to play it, but conditions would have to be right.

I've already mentioned Hokori, Dust Drinker, it's a fetchable Winter Orb, so it's a card you will most likely drop play later in the game, and Winter Orbs affect is safer to play a bit later anyways to mitigate the masochism. Dropping this guy late when they tap out can be a pseudo-Armageddon. Though, if it's fetched for they will see it coming. I like to fetch for a creature then cheat it into play with Captain, which would prevent the spoiler factor. I wonder if D&T should play one of these bad boys, because it is bonkers with Rishadan Port, and not too shabby with Aether Vial as well.

It's nice to have Artifact and Enchantment removal that can be fetched, but I'm not sure which one is better Leonin Relic-Warder or War Priest of Thune. It might be Relic-Warder as it can hit both. Currently I have 2 Disenchant as well. I need a way to deal with the cards like Worship and Moat and Ensnaring Bridge

Intrepid Hero seem cool, and again, it can be fetched. I'm just not sure when it would be useful. Maybe it's good vs Eldrazi to kill all those Fatty Boom-Booms. I can see it being good vs Infect to deal with a pumped up dude.

I have Disenchant in my sideboard but is probably going to be cut, I"m sure before I even finish writing this. Again, not a you-win-game kind of card. Sure I could see it being like that vs Belcher??? Maybe?? Who even plays that deck? I actually don't know when I ever want to bring this card in, it's just sits in my sideboard idly making me feel comfortable. Sidenote; if you actually needed to click the card link for this, I'm assuming you don't actually play magic and you meant to be on the Yugioh forum. Disenchant is possibly the most reprinted card of all time.

Crackdown good vs Eldrazi, Goyf, Delver, I think this card could really turn creature matchups in our favor.

Crib Swap was in my sideboard for a while until recently, it's a great removal card in this deck that can you can put into you hand when revealed with Enlistment Officer. Again, it's not a card that reads, "deal with this or you lose the game," in any matchup, so I've been inclined to remove it for now.

Peacekeeper is ver very strong effect and it can be fetched with Recruiter. The problem is that it shuts down your attacks, and my only way to get rid of it is with ratchet bomb or attacking, this fact alone rules his card out methinks. I was playing vs infect which is very fast and I just wished I could slow them down to establish my board. I will find other cards to counter it.

    Quick honorable mentions:
Commander Easha is a good blocker, evasion, and can't be bolts
Phyrexian Metamorph can be fetched and cast, and copies the biggest thing on the battlefield
Kataki, War's Wage is probably not necessary as Affinity is not a great legacy deck, but it's an option that can be fetched
Tsabo's Web is probably not necessary as it is really good vs Lands but we have lots of hate for that matchup already
Kor Hookmaster I could see this being played as it's kind of like a removal spell, that allow you to force threw dmg for the win and it can be fetched
Kor Skyfisher seems like it would fit in a Winter Orb version because you can recall a tapped land and then replay it, or recall an Officer or Prelate to replay. You can also do some other mana tricks with your mana accelerators.
Holy Light I'm not sure that this card could beat out others for a slot, but it can be great Infect and Empty the Warrens
Faerie Macabre has uses vs Dredge and Reanimator, but I'm not sure it's better than rest in peace. It can be fetched.

    Some Final Notes:
I don't like running two many two mana spells in a Chalice deck, because playing Chalice for 2 can be very good sometimes

I'm wondering if Trinisphere is necessary for this deck. It has a lot of anti-synergy though, but it has a super power effect that will definitely be more of a burden for the opponent than it will be for the you, unless you're playing vs another stompy deck. I think a version with Trinisphere would need to remove the Soldier accelerators, at least Banneret. Also, it's lowering the creature count by 4 which makes Enlistment Officer worse.

I might run a singleton Mox Diamond because we don't have Simian Spirit Guide like Red Stompy to increase chances of turn 1 chalice or smooth out mana base. Blue Stompy has Trinket Mage that can fetch Seat of the Synod, and Eldrazi is colorless. We have the weakest manabase of all Stompy decks, if they made a white Simian Spirit Guide that could replace the Banneret and it was a soldier toooooo!! Oh I'd do WTOC's laundry. That being said, this mana base is still very playable, we have lots of good Chrome Mox targets, the only reason I'm not running 4 is because having a bunch in the opening hand can be bad, but it might be correct to run 4 in this deck, especially since we have so many legendary creatures.

    That's all for now folks!

It makes no sense having the Lotus Petal in that deck, it's not sustainable mana. Your manabase looks atrocious, and you will lose tons of games and never get far in a tourney with that mana base unless cheating while shuffling. You have too few white sources to cast them reliably.

To the OP, there is a deck in Legacy which is like the number 1 deck right now as shown on tcdeck.net, and it's a Chalice aggro Eldrazi Stompy deck. If you want to try to mix the white stompy cards with Eldrazi stompy, you have to prioritize white mana sources so that you can reliably cast those spells, as white stompy already has a weaker mana base than Red Stompy or Blue Stompy
I'm currently brewing lots of different white Stompy lists, some tribal some not, to try and break it. You should look at Soldier Stompy as it just recently got a boost in power with some new cards, and it runs the Thalia as you desired. My version even has a favorable matchup vs D&T.

Palace Jailer seems broken in Legacy, so I could imagine seeing it it in Death and Taxes.

What is really hilarious about this card is how much confusion it can cause in-game, and how you can mess with your opponents.

    Scenario:
Opponent attacks with some amount of creatures
You have any creature with Spy Kit equipped
    You block with that creature

You: "I will block with Wild Ape, then I will cast Divine Prevention Preventing all the damage that would be dealt to Storm Crow, and redirect the damage from Little Girl to you.

opponent pauses for a moment with expression of complete bewilderment

    Opponent: "please say that again"

    You:
"sure, I will block with Gargantuan Gorilla, then I will cast Divine Prevention preventing all the damage that would be dealt to Ragamuffyn, and redirect the damage from Insidious Bookworms to you.

    opponent:

    "oh ok"

Also, Trinishpere is really bad with cost reducing cards like Daru Warchief and Ballyrush Banneret, because Trini completely negates their abilities. That's a total nombo. I still like increasing the tax effects as much as possible. Winter orb is hugely disruptive, and it combos well with the new Thalia and Loxodon Gatekeeper. The problem is that it can mess with you as well, and it can really hurt if you don't have a Captain on the battlefield. Cost reducers help lessen the pain a bit, and Chrome Mox is great. It's much less effective vs Mana Dork decks.

The list I'm at so far

If you're not playing Ninja of the Deep Hours I'm pretty sure you're playing a bad deck, but yes, I agree Mausoleum Wanderer is a great addition.

It's been a long time since I was playing this deck, funny that I found this thread and that people are brewing this hidden treasure. It was the inspiration for my main Legacy and Modern decks. The Modern version is pretty broken, of course I deleted both decklists a while back when I thought I was not going to continue playing Magic. It's too bad because I had really fine-tuned both a Legacy and Modern version that I remember having lots of success with.

This deck is weak to Cavern of Souls I think because it can't race creature deck, to win it needs to prevent them from playing creatures. Bouncing a 1 or 2 won't cut it.
