I mean that your are playing less than 16 lands. This number is perfect for this deck, adding only 9 bordeeposts.

Against control you have to play violent outburst at the end of his/her turn, and plea/violent/dread in your turn to resolve this second balance. If you add 2/3 blood moon you will have 2/3 more threads to play if you don’t have a plea/violent/dread in your turn for this sequence. The same applies for vendilion: you can play violent/vendilion at the end of his/her turn and thread in your turn. This is the best way to win versus control decks.

@TheGreatGodLoki & @Doctor: I see that you both are running 11 & 12 lands, giving a high density of borderposts. Now that KCI is out of the game, maybe stony silence will decrease in sides, but abrade, kolaghan or another artifact cheat is still heavily played. I`m playing 16 lands with 9 borderposts to play around these cards in side-games. Don´t you have any problem playing against UWx, UR (phoenix or control), death's shadow, or some colour that plays red or white?.

@TheGreatGodLoki: 35/65 Control is a very sad percentage. I rarely lost versus control due to main deck vendilion clique. I encourage you to test replacing maybe one o two supreme will. 25/75 Humans is as real as rock. Spirits is even worse. I'm thinking to test again black version with maindeck Shriekmaw and mardu charm (even a dead//gone) to see how it goes with this linear full-bodies meta (where restore is better).

@Doctor: I get the point of your high number of borderposts and tezzeret, but did you try with nahiri+emrakul?. This combination gives a better path in each game, removing a creature, drawing a card, shuffling your graveyard (and restores in a long game), or even removing a stony silence. Another question that comes to my mind seing your list: why are you removing Blood Moon?.

    Cheers!

Supreme will was originally a card I was testing, but found the 3 drop slot to be clogged up already and we need "real" cards early to be able to actually play a game and not just wait for turn 3 and being able to fit it in when we are casting posts and suspending has felt very smooth. I also have the same issue with replacing the card in our hand over the general ability to sculpt and select more cards, but I like that it digs deeper than DD amd doesn't use the graveyard. I definitely like supreme will's versatility and maybe I'll try a split at my next fnm.

Hi Doctor, I've been playing restore balance since old Extended. In Modern I tried black replacing blue (Ari Lax's list https://mtgdecktechs.com/the-rogue-report-restoring-balance-in-modern/), but I came back to Ardent Plea version. Black has a lot of good cards (lingering souls, mardu charm, anguished unmaking, or pick the brain), but when as foretold saw the Sun light, I have experimented a huge success with it (in addition to vendilion clique).

Could you give us your list to have a better idea of your building?. For me it is very interesting because Lax's list has more than 2 years and nobody is now playing black restore version. I`m also trying Gideon of the Trials with no success. A 3 mana planeswalker has a lot of potential, but after testing, it doesn't do nothing better that ajani or elspeth to my eyes. Anyway, Humans, Spirits and KCI seems so bad pairings. I tuned my list with 2 dead//gone to deal with Thalia, kitdesire, and meddling mage but it is not enough. Dismember could be another option because it also kills Queller, but spending 4 points of life versus these decks is very painful.

Hi all!. Regarding metagame where a lot of agro and graveyard decks are trying to hit us, I think that serum visions are not quite good in Shadow. I saw that drawing a card with scry 2 is quite slow and it could have very low impact in so many pairings because we have a great drawing mechanism (mishra, scour, looting, street) with a huge variety of active and reactive cards.

Has anyone tried nihil spellbomb replacing serum visions?. It is another card that compact our deck (in the worse scenario) and solving dredge and hollow one decks. Another aspect is that we could have 2/3 side gaps for another cards.

Hi!. Maybe you can take out a kiki and put there the keranos. In the side you can use this gap and removing a ceremonius and a relic to put there 3 tarmogoyf. I have done this change and now I win to Aff and Burn. You can stabilize but you need more pressure on the table, removing blood moons in second (and third) games.

I think that humans is an agro deck at the end of the day, so without paths in their list, we can elesh them and winning, meanwhile we have to handle with the table but for this reason we play paths, wraths and thirsts. I did´t play this deck since 6 months, so the question is: can we win to storm with this base package?. I really think this deck is undervalued, but I cannot imagine a deck that could win us systematically.

Fatal Push reason that you claim could be the same reason to quit from this deck, but the numbers say the opposite. So maybe, introducing another threat to kill with Push could give us a chance to combo easily. I have introduce a basic forest, and using 4 Misty, 3 Scalding and 1 Wooded to fetch for that basic forest, meanwhile after our blood moon, I have a lot of red sources due to duals and fetchlands, so kiki is easily to cast. I understand the Krasis point, so the combo creatures must be the same after introducing tarmo in this deck.

I was splashing green in Navas list due to the side. I have access to ancient grudge, a better engineered explosives cost, huntmaster and a instant gain life against burn.

Did you try tarmo version against what?. Thanks for the reply!

Hi all!. I'm playing Navas list with minor changes. This deck is really good right now, but don't you think we can try to explore the tarmotwinless route?. I mean, the deck has a great tempo, but you can't race to pif or burn, so it is important putting a early pressure on the table in the firts turns. If that is a good update, maybe we could think to change exarch for bounding krasis to hold on the pressure.
I'm thinking about this due to blood moon is not that grear against burn, storm and ur throught the breach, and this deck has a huge big rate of victories after a blood moon is on the table.

What do you think? Did you try tarmogoyf in this deck?

Hi all!. I saw that someone did day2 in the Starcitygames during this past weekend with a restore balance deck. I couldn't find the list or pairings. Has anyone some information about it?

Hi all and specially to micah1!. I saw your list as soon as they were posted in SCG. I am playing a list exactly like yours, with 4 minor changes (-1x Scapeshift, -1x Verdict, -1x Command, -1x Izzet Charm, +1x Path, +1x Worldly Counsel, +2x Lightning Helix) and with almost the same side. Maybe you could answer me some question in your pairings. After all, I´m playing this because we have good pairings vs Tiers1.

1- UR Storm is a very bad matchup according to my experience with this deck. Your gameplan versus this deck is playing a RIP in turn 2, or there is another gameplay?. They usually play remand in mainboard, so I think that we cannot race so much to combo them off.

2- I saw that you remove 1x Verdict and Paths siding against Living End. Nevertheless, I kept my Verdict and 2 Paths, bringing in my Baloths because they usually exile my Scapeshifts with Lost Legacy and I play RIP at some point in the games. In this way, I only have to counter Living End until I play RIP. I saw that Castro-Rappl didn´t play Lost Legacy or Slaughter Games. Did you change something in your way of sideboarding against Living End?

3- Burn is a very close matchup. Did you try 2 Baloth and 2 Huntmaster in your sideboard, or it is better playing 4 Baloths?

4- Is there any reason to play Nature's Claim and not to play Wear//Tear?. I saw Claim in every Scapeshift but nobody plays Wear//Tear.

Thank you and congrats!!. I am convinced that this deck is the best answer to the actual tiers.

Hi all!. I have read all your entries due to the fact that I´m playing tarmo"twin" again. Game plan is perfect in this build to run kiki-jiki, the mirror breaker, so I gave it a shot. Feelings are equal than when I used to play TarmoTwin: tempo is awesome, but I loose vs Burn again. My first version played ancestral vision because I thought that this card would be a perfect update to this deck, but if I did´t have it in my first 2 turns, it was impossible to expend the mana to suspend it because this you have some work to do with the boys in front of your table way. So I erase that card and I put the forth serum visions and a peek (I played 2 ancestrals).

    Now I´m running this list:

    using this sideboard:

As you can see, it is a very common mainboard list, but with a self-made sideboard. It is adapted to the current meta, but versus burn my record is 1-3 in 4 rounds played (I won to a burn because he flooded every game). I´m asking myself if you are still playing this deck and how do you manage with burn.

NOTE: maybe ancestral vision can be a decent sideboard card...

    Thank you all!

    Hi all!
@gonoree: that is very close to my main deck list. Dark confidant in this deck is awesome!. I propuse to you just play: -1x scavenging ooze, -1x lingering souls, -1x abrupt decay adding +3x noble hierarch. With those changes you can play in turn 2 liliana or lingering (very important vs Robots), and siege rhino in turn 3 (vs Burn) as main deck cards. On the other hand, you will lose less life with dark confidant, and you can attack only with a lingering token (despite de exalted of noble hierarch) using the other token to block.

I also play 3x inquisition and 3x thoughtseize.

Talking about side: I think it is essential playing Choke now that blue is going to be seen in a lot of tables.

Hi all!. Gerry Thompson has updated and tested UW Tron in Starcitygames. The bad new is that it is a pay-per-view article. Anyone can see the article or download it to see it?. I am very curious in his list and sideboard options.

    Thanks a lot.

Hi guys. I am playing uw tron since old extended, but now I have some questions about sideboards.

Grafdigger's Cage is awesome vs melira (creatures, Collected Company and Chord of Calling) and new Elves Company, but it stops our best reanimated card vs them (Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite). Why use Cage then?. I have seen that those pairings are good for us.
Is Torpor Orb a better answer?

    Thanks and Gifts!!

Nobody could give me some reason?
