So... can I pay the activation 1 at a time? (i.e. wait to see which permanents my opponents return before deciding to pay again). Or do I need to pick the amount (say, 7) and pay it all at once?
I control Reaper King and Words of Wind. I cast Rush of Knowledge. Can I activate Words ability up to 10 times (if I have 10 mana)? Or can I only pay it once?
Thanks for your help!
This is a multi-part question/scenario that my playgroup struggled with this weekend. Thank you in advance for any help!
I'm trying to deal a maximum amount of damage with Volrath, the Shapestealer. I want copy my Jodah's Avenger, which has a +1/+1 counter on it, activating shadow (which my opponent can't block) and double strike. Will that even work with Jodah? Does the fact that it says "Jodah's Avenger gets -1/-1..." matter here? Is my Volrath now "Jodah's Avenger" or is he still "Volrath, the Shapestealer"?
We assumed it worked, but we were a bit confused...
If I activate Jodah's shadow, then activate Volrath to copy him, and then activate double strike after no blockers are assigned, what will the attacking Volrath's final power/toughness be?
After that, during my second main phase, here was my dilemma...
My opponent controls a tapped Tsabo Tavoc, but he intends to destroy my Volrath when Tsabo untaps during his turn. I have no mana (all my lands are tapped). Is Volrath still legendary? Or can he not be targeted by Tsabo's sbility because he's Jodah?
If he COULD target him, is there a way to avoid this by using the protection from red ability on my Volrath (which is still copying Jodah)? My opponent says no. He says that even if I pay 0 and activate the protection now, Volrath's copy ability will end at the beginning of my next turn (leaving him both legendary and unprotected for a brief moment), and he will activate Tsabo at the beginning of my turn BEFORE my untap step (i.e. before I have the mana to protect him again)
Is this true?
If I had 1 untapped land, could I have avoided this by paying the 1 at the beginning of my turn (before my untap step) to re-copy Jodah and activate the protection again?
I pay 1 to make Volrath, the Shapestealer a copy of Slither Blade, then attack with Volrath. Since my opponent can't block him, can I then choose to pay 1 more before combat damage to copy Blight Mamba and deal him 7 infect damage? I guess I'm wonderimg when the last opportunity is for me to use his ability before he actually deals his damage.
Thanks in advance!
If I play an older wall that doesn't say "defender" (it just says "Walls can't attack"), will it trigger the card draw ability of Arcades, the Strategist ?
Thank you
This is building off a question I asked earlier, but could someone explain what would happen in this scenario?
My opponent controls an overwhelming army of sixty 1/1 goblin creature tokens, but his life total is down to 10.
I control ten 1/1 saproling creature tokens and a Blood Artist enchanted with Dark Privilege. My life total is also 10.
It is my opponents turn.
What is the LAST possible time that I could use the sacrifice ability to kill my ten tokens and win the game?
If he declares all of his goblins as attackers, is it too late?
Thanks for your help!

In other words, if I don't care about or need the regeneration effect, can I still sacrifice as much as I want?
Thanks
For example, if I have 4 cards in my hand, and one of them is Spontaneous Generation, will I get 3 or 4 tokens when I play it?
Thanks!
