    Hey Man!

I forgot about Murderous Cut. Should probably be in place of the Doom Blade. Or the Dismember. Anyway, this makes SnapCasterMage so much more viable.
I will soon have acces to my Faerieland again.

This finally gives black a push for the so much needed early removal.

This is insane against jund, burn, infect, affinity and zoo decks.

Card practically invalidated both Disfigure and Smother.

    3x This
    1x Dismember
    1x Doomblade

Would make a nice removal suite Smile
    Some CB in the side.

THis definately plays out very well with Snapcaster mage.

I have to face a lot of burn. I keep my BB in. I take out all my 4 drops. Maybe leave a cryptic. See, BB may drain our life 1 a turn, but it still either gives damage back on them or more likely blocks. So that 1 pt from BB generally blocks 3.

Plus it boosts sss which is vital to get to at least 2 count.

Collective brutality has been huge vs burn. 2 life, kill a creature, strip a burn... really good at 2 mana

I generally like our fourdrops because they blast through Eidolon, save damage and dig deeper (Command), block a creature dead and provide a clock (Mistbind) or simply win you the game if you can stall with cheaper spells (Kalitas).

    This top 4 is amazing!

Jeskai and Grixis and no Dredge I am so damn happy

No Dredge means that the top 4 is actually interesting to watch Smile .

Also, 8 Cryptic Commands in top 4.

The first game of the day was great to watch. I hope we'll see more of those although reactive decks aren't super popular in Modern. It showed though how strong of a card AV is, it just dominated third game and I'm pretty sure Corey would lose if he didn't have it.

Yeah that was great. I would love him to go all the way. I think there are a lot of Eldrazi day 2 though and I don't know how Grixis does against it. I think it is pretty bad.

Yes, Eldrazi is bad as it is for all control deck and Grixis control is no exception. Big threats along with Cavers is pretty brutal I guess.

It wouldn't be that bad if reality smasher didn't have pseudo-hexproof.

Without Cavern of Souls, Mana Leak would have been tremendous against Eldrazi Grin . But they have Cavern...

Hey guys I was wondering which third colour is best for U/B Faeries- Green for Abrupt Decay and Maelstrom Pulse or White for 1 Gideon, Ally of Zendikar, 2 Sorin, Solemn Visitor and possibly Path to Exile?

Someone here played with for Path and the sideboard cards. Possibly the new collective thing also works. Going in the 4 drops is really bad. White with 1-3 cost choices is decent.

Another thing I would change in these lists is the Mistband Clique. I know lately I have been a hater but the deck feels smoother without it. Running both MC and Copter which would rely on having 1/1s on the board seems a bit optimistic and easily exploitable. Instead I can see replacing Clique with Kalitas/Snapcasters to help for the midrange long game as well as aggro.

Copter and Brutality can actually ditch those cards for you, if you dont need them.

When you draw them and you need them, go for it.
When you dont, you can easily pitch them.

I don't think Cavern of Souls is such a problem but the whole efficiency of the deck is. It's a midrange deck with good disruption and very fast clock which means it's good against control and against other midrange decks, against these ones mostly because they go bigger and fast enough to beat most aggro and combo decks.

I honestly don't know hot to deal with it without killing it. The easiest way would be Eldrazi Temple deck but this just kills the deck and I don't have feeling Wizards want this.

Well, Mana Leak and Cryptic Command are the best answers against TKS and Reality Smasher. Cavern of Souls would prevent that instantly and would nerf Eldrazi a bit. Eldrazi can stay in that way (the mana can't be used to pay for Leak anyway...). I don't know if anything should be banned, this is just a consideration.

True, but I think Eldrazi is wider problem as it is good against all fair decks not just blue based control and while this would help control it wouldn't help other decks struggling with it.

I'm not sure anything should be banned either but just thinking about problems it causes and its possible solutions but this isn't necessary a ban.

If Blue Control decks would be able to control Eldrazi, that would be an interesting dynamic for sure. Not sure if Eldrazi can survive Leak, Snap, Leak. Not all decks should necessarily be beating Eldrazi, but each deck must have a weakness in order to sustain an interesting metagame dynamic.

does bant eldrazi have any weaknesses?

Decks that are faster. At the FNM, I was surprised with the performance of Bant Eldrazi against my Affinity. Ravager feels a lot worse with their Displacer. There is a reason for the rise in infect and burn as well, especially now Bant Eldrazi pushed away BGx midrange.

What hate against tron and infect would you recommend to complement the single gq? What should I take out of the mb to fit in the pact?

    Extirpate?
    Sower of Temptation?

Both are good against those decks.

Otherwise, Ceremonious Rejection, but you do not play Snapcaster Mage

I think the "wrong half" problem is far more critical for control than any particular card suppressing the meta-archtype. Cavern simply demonstrates the challenge in finding the correct/applicable answer for the control decks. There is no shortage of answers available for one's 75, finding them is the issue.

This discussion about Cavern of Souls bolsters the argument for Preordain to be unbanned: we need a bit more consistency in selecting for the correct answer and scrying away those answers that are not pertinent to a given board state.

Uncounterable creatures causing problems? Lets help find the answers to the land and creature more consistently. Unban Preordain as an incremental step in that direction imo.

What card exactly are you digging for with Preordain that's going to answer Cavern of Souls and NOT cause you to be overrun because you wasted an entire turn dealing with 1 land?

Again; the issue isn't any one particular card, it's that the generic answers we need for control to thrive don't exist in the format. Unbanning Preordain isn't going to change that.
what generic answer is going to either counter a spell or kill a creature on the battlefield in one card? Cavern is only slotted in decks against which control will already board out counters. Preordain will dig you to the kill spells you need in that match regardless of Cavern.

Or counterspells get boarded out, BECAUSE of cavern? Against Eldrazi, counterspells would work wonders against Reality Smashers and TKSs. I would never side out my counterspells, if they didnt have any caverns.

    Totally in love!

@Ymir: it was no critique. The strat with swords probably works better now. That is what I wanted to suggset. Jund plays less answers to swords nowaydays.
