Oh, the religion that we see in the world today (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, etc) will almost certainly be looked back on in hundreds or thousands of years as just another series of myths (like we think nowadays about the ancient Greek, Roman, or Norse religions).

The real question is whether another belief system or systems will take their place...or if humanity (if we're indeed still around and haven't destroyed ourselves or the planet) will have outgrown that sort of thing...

Morally, it's absoutely fine, as long as you're both consenting, safe, etc. And if 16's under the legal age in your state or country, just don't get caught.

Road accidents are always unfortunate. :frwn:

    "Oh."

He looked awkward and wasn't quite sure what to say. But he seemed strangely excited about the whole thing.

    "Terrorists, was it?"

Josh waited and waited, and the time passed exceedingly slowly.

After what felt like forever but was probably closer to about an hour, the two officers, Martin and Hudgings, reentered the room, and sat down. Hudgings was the first to speak, after a short and awkward silence. He sounded angry at Josh, like it was his fault somehow.

"Five students are dead. The school's completely destroyed - that blast caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage."

Oh dear. Well that hopefully won't happen here. Slant

The bus was full of people, but Jovana eventually managed to find a spot, next to a bored-looking kid in his late teens, headphones in his ears and staring off into the distance at the remains of the school. He noticed Jovana and turned his music off, turning to her, gesturing to the school.

"Whoa, that was the university, wasn't it? What happened?"

She sighed, in too much of a hurry to worry about this any longer.

"Fine" she said, walking out the door and closing it behind her. "But don't go anywhere."

A startled customer shouted "I do!" and ran over, crouching down and starting to perform CPR on the man.

After about thirty seconds with no signs of life, the man took a sudden gasp and his eyes shot open, panicked and glancing around the room.

Some people were still standing around, panicked because of the recent blast. But the buses seemed to be continuing as normal, with one pulling up to the bus stop just as Jovana arrived there.

    He chuckled.

"What it does is detect incoming seismological activity. This device harnesses the shockwaves caused by mild tremors or earthquakes and converts it into energy."

This is more of a semantics question, but what if I already have an idea for a novel outlined. Does it count if I don't actually start "writing" it until the contest starts? Just making sure. Though I do plan to finish it at some point, just wondering what actually means "writing a novel" in a month.

Yeah, you can have an outline and characters prepared beforehand - you just have to start actually writing it in November. I've already got a bit of an outline. Wink

Anyone else have a basic story idea? My very rough plot outline currently features a 20-something French girl and an anti-religious "terrorist" group.

You should see Australian internet. Among the slowest of all developed countries (1323 kb/s download and 211 kb/s upload according to speedtest.net), and the most expensive (AU$80 a month here, with a 25GB download cap after which the connection is slowed to dial-up quality 64kb/s).

He had a very faint pulse and there were traces of very light breathing. But still no other signs of life. Meanwhile, Martha was on the phone talking to the emergency services.
