Well it looks like Montreal will be looking at Dan Ellis as Carey Price's wingman in goal. Not bad move by them to get Dustin Boyd and Ellis for Sergei Kostitsyn. Ellis is a servicable goalie who can bear the load if Price is on a cold streak.
Also, Leighton was re-signed for 2 years at $1.5/season. Not too shabby for a goalie that brought them to the finals and leaves them enough cap room to pursue another FA goalie or even deal Carter for a big name.
I'm one of (currently) only two people who voted for Nausicaa? Aww...
I was actually pretty close to voting for it. I love both Nausicaa and Mononoke so much and they're similar on a lot of fronts. In fact, the two jostle for top spot in my books and I probably only ended up voting Mononoke because I watched it more recently. I too am surprised that there's not more votes for it!
So I have a random question... what do you guys think about PDAs? As in public displays of affections... not the palm devices. Personally, I'm not a fan about them at all. I think they're unnecessary most of the time and should only be done in moderation at the very most.
The reason I ask is because I saw a gay couple kissing on the train today. I treated it like any PDA and rolled my eyes but some people looked pretty shocked. Honestly, I don't blame them... it's a far less common sight than straight couples making out in public.
@Trent, A brief history of 'clan', Since you've been gone the Forum moderators did a clean sweep to get rid of inactive clans. Imagecrafters was almost closed down, twice. Last time it was really bad and we ended up merging with another clan MTGSalivation, so Zith, Kankanon, and Shibui joined, that's why there's a '+' at the end of our name now.
Yikes! I really wish I could have been here to help! I guess I'm tehcnically clan-less so if you're ever on the edge again, I'll jump in to intervene! And that explains what happened to MTGSalivation... I was wondering what happened there. Well I'm glad to see that you're all around still
@Trent, it is good to have ya back, even if it took you 3 days and almost 30 posts to contact us....:p
Hey now, I was just formulating my grand entrance! But in reality I was just waiting for my friend to drop off the external hard drive that he borrowed so that I could post some of the graphic design I've done recently
@Trent, We live with my family, and we're waiting for her to become a permanent resident, the process takes a long, long time.... it's been seven months since she sent in the paperwork, and we haven't heard from them yet.
Yeah, the Canadian government is pretty good about letting people land here but are terrible when it comes to paperwork. Well I hope you two can get the ball rolling... it would be awesome to have somewhere to live together! If all else fails, you're welcome to move to Edmonton and live in my house!
@Trent: HELLO!!!! Nice to see you back. We're still here. Yup. We merged. As for me....I dunno. Not much. I'm a jobless bum going back to college now.
Aww, sorry to hear that you're unemployed. What happened at your old job (if you don't mind me asking) and what are you going back to college for? You certainly don't sound too excited about it...
Yeah, I know I was hard on myself as a kid, even am now, but I was also very quick to frustration and crying back then. I refused single-line kites on account of my dad and brother flying more interesting (and challenging) dual-line kites at four years old. Same with video games and other things. Back then, it could be done, so I could do it, and I want to do it, so I will. But when I fail, then it's why can't I, I should be able to, I need to do this, why can't I... yeah, frustration.
Good times, good times. Nowadays I have a much better, healthier, perspective on these things.
I think it's important to push yourself when you're younger. I know I did it when it came to sports; if I dropped a pass in football or overthrew a receiver, I would become frustrated because I knew I could have done it better. It's something that helps you grow as a person as long as you know when it can help you but also that it has the potential to drive you totally nuts. As you get older, it's also important to acknowledge that sometimes your very best might not be good enough, but the key is to always give it your 100%. I'm glad you have a healthier perspective now
Despite that I was going to try and went to interview today, It was going well until they said the dreaded 'commision' word, then my resolve faded. It's one thing to do something your against all day, but to do it and potentially not get paid for it. I just wasn't comfortable with that.
Hopefully you'll hear from them again! Would you consider working there just as a source of income while you continue your search for other jobs?
Bah, job hunting is the worst. I'm currently working 3 part timers whiile I look for one good full-time job. So frustrating.
Way to T4, Cecilia! It's also great to see you again!
... but on that note, this place is getting a little quiet! Geez, I hope I didn't scare everyone away! Where's Omna??? I'll start making a mess in here if nobody's here to supervise me!
So I just saw Toy Story again, this time in IMAX! Has anyone else watched it? I want to hear some of your thoughts on it! Next movie I'm looking forward to: The Last Airbender. I'm almost certain the movie is going to suck but I was a huge fan of the cartoon so I'll have to see it. Oh, and after that is Christopher Nolan's Inception which looks super cool. I love summer! Any summer releases that anyone else is looking forward to?
So, Pride was fun but ultimately disappointing for undisclosed reasons. I had a bad paradespot, and so I only have a couple pics to put up tomorrow. BUT. Yeah. There are other pics too! So stop bugging me. Sheesh.
* PurpleD bugs you lots and lots while he still can
Undisclosed reasons? How very suspicious Well I hope you were able to make the best of it! Were a lot of people there?
omg my new favorite song, airplanes with haley williams!:love::love:
You're a little late on the Hayley Williams talk! Bwaha, just kidding... she's amazing enough to warrant bringing up a few times. I'm glad Paramore is getting some exposure now... I saw them at Warped tour 3 years ago and there were perhaps 150 people there to see them. Now I'm sure they're pack a stage!
Please ignore that part. It's not like the sections they're talking about are meant to be oversexed and ostentatious. It's a good look at "masculinity" and preconceived notions of what "gay" is.
Speaking of silly things like notions of masculinity, has everyone watched Ricky Gervais' presentation of an HIV prevention pamphlet? Not only is it hysterical but it also mocks how out of touch the people in charge of public health are.
And I haven't included those whom locations I don't know...
That's a great start! I live in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada). Gigaguess lives just south of me in Calgary
So... story time! Last night I participated in a beer pong tournament that I was dragged to by my roommate. In an effort to make things more exciting, I pretended that I've never played before. keep in mind that I lived a whole year in a university residence, so obviously I have a ton of experience.
So I rack up my first game and start asking really noobish questions. The other team is pretty experienced so they're nice enough to answer them but are still confident that they're going to shut us out (which results in the losing team streaking). I hit a cup just so I wouldn't have to get naked and then pretend to just be terrible at the game. My roommate is very displeased because she's getting drunker due to my fake lack of skill, but I assure her it's all for the greater good.
After I throw my first game as part of the act, we're not playing in the loser's bracket of the tournament (it's double elimination). We go up against a team that was actually quite good but I hit a bounce shot and was just generally sniping cups. I attributed it to "beginner's luck" and they bought every word of it.
Fast forward 5 consecutive wins to us not only chewing through the loser's bracket but now we're playing the best team from the winner's bracket for the tournament win (and a free case of beer). The first game goes down to 1 cup vs 1 cup and we end up hitting it first. By now everyone can see that I've got some skill and that my teammate isn't too shabby either. Since it's a double elimination, we have to beat the winner's bracket champ twice in a row. They're thinking that we just got lucky and now I'm ready to seal the deal. First wave: my teammate sinks it in the front cup. On my shot, I hit the same cup. In our rules, that's 3 cups out and we get balls back. Second wave: she hits back cup. I sink it in the same cup. In other words, we shut them out for not only the tournament win and a case of beer, but also forced them to go streaking. Needless to say, it was an epic night... things only got messier from there but I'll spare you those details
(No worries. Is the title of the thread intentionally spelled Shell Cases?)
Without hesitation, Marek pulled the trigger of his pistol, aiming at the shoulder of the assailant in an attempt to force him to drop his gun. Though his heart was pounding and his reflexes were controlling his body, his mind remained constant throughout the calamity. What a rookie. Whoever he is, it'll be easy to find out who he's working for.
I chose the first simply because it's more polished. The second one has a lot more potential to look better but I can't help but notice the rough cutting around the hair, and how the solar flare in his hand has too much contrast compared to its surroundings. Also, the glowing eyes seem to be perfect circles and might be better served by making them more eye shaped.
So for now one looks good but if you work on 2, I think it would end up becoming the better looking one.

Whaddya think?
Glad to be back! Thanks for the warm welcome
Here's what I've got so far:
First of all, it looks AWESOME on the dark forum skin. Secondly, I can make a number of adjustments if you'd like...
I'll get started on it ASAP
I see them every day
This is False. Avoid hyperbole at all times .

Sure thing! Just drop off a request in my shop (link is under my sig).
Whaaa??? You can't go to University without playing beer pong! Everone knows it's the sport of champions.

Whoops! Then I suppose I better not post happy belated birthday for fear of being a horrible person as well! So instead, I'll give you this...

Yup! You're the one with the whip, scare tactics, and altogether intimidating presence!
... okay maybe Shin has those too, but he has them for a completely different purpose.
