Ah, a day surrounded by Joss Whedon is a fantastic day indeed.
QFT. Maybe I'll even read his X-Men run! Probably one of the best Marvel runs of all time and certainly in the top 3 for Marvel books I own
After all, this is one of the best moments of "dialogue" in all of comics. From Whedon's Astonishing X-Men, issue 14:
I love watching Angel/Buffy from beginning to end. Ooh, and now Firefly's available on NetFlix for instant play, so that makes me
Firefly is on Netflix? That's pretty awesome! Thankfully I already have the season on DVD signed by Nathan Fillion (Mal) and Jewel Staite (Kaylee)
Questions:
Are those pictures of herself in her eyes? Tough one... I don't believe so, but I'll look into it.
Is she from an advertisement? No
Is it from a comic strip? Not a comic strip but something similar
Is she a comic book character? More or less... she's from a graphic novel.
Has the graphic novel she's from been made into a movie/in the makes of a movie? No
Is it an American publication? Yes
Is the entire graphic novel in this style? Not all of it, but a good deal of it is
Has it been published in the lat 10 years? Yes
Is it part of the cover art? No
Is this girl the main character of the novel? No
Is it titled after the character? No, it's titled after this character
Guesses:
The mom of the coppertone baby? Nope!
Coraline? No
The main character from Girls? No
Tamara Drew?
Lemme know when you're down. I have a few decks that I've been itching to try out...
Oh noes! That evil look has got me worried now! Sadly I don't really have any decks to play against you with... I sold almost everything. I do have a UG tempo deck and a Kobolds combo that I can pilot though.
kraj, for some reason i thought you were a big black man
I think it's the way he moderates. He gives off the impression of a big, angry bouncer. Either that or you've been fantasizing a bit too much
Hmmmm... I have a rare complete day off of work and I really don't know what to do with myself! I'm going out to the pub tonight but maybe I'll just sit around in my boxers all day today. Oh, perhaps I'll start watching Buffy from the start! I've been meaning to do that.
Oh, and on that note, I'm super stoked for Edmonton's Can't Stop the Serenity on Sunday. They're playing Serenity at a theatre downtown and there's a silent auction for charity and stuff! I'm pretty stoked to unleash my nerdiness
That's hot...sorry for being Dutch and not used to all slang...just found out recently what "that's what she he said" means
Hahaha, I'm sorry but I found this way too funny. Well now that you know what it means, you can begin to understand its almost limitless applications. Oh, and for some funnies check this out: Alfred Hitchcock drops one of the earliest that's what she saids.

Hey guys, still had problems sleeping BUT atleast I only had to read like 5 posts!
That's not good! I used to have major troubles sleeping (and still sometimes do) but I've started doing 50-60 situps or 30-40 pushups just as a brisk energy burn and it helps me fall asleep faster. Try it out
@ PurpleD: You live(d) in Canada?
Yup! I used to live in Calgary but I just moved to Edmonton last year to attend University. So far I'm liking the change but I do miss home.
How have we never played Magic together?
I'm seriously missing Calgary these days. I really want to go back soon to go to Another Dimension comics in Kensington, grab some coffee at cafe Beano, play some Magic at Phoenix and/or Sentry Box, and get drunk at the Unicorn. Hopefully I can get down there in the next couple of weeks before homesickness drives me crazy!
alcohol or not, try to do what you think you should do, not what you are able to do
Haha, of course. Contrary to how I make the speed of this "relationship" sound, I'm definitely not the type to try to wheel her when she's drunk or in the mood to make a poor decision. We've actually been friends for several months... it was just me becoming recently single that made us realize how much chemistry her and I have.
And I was just about to apologize for sounding like such a girl until I realized where I was posting this. Here's what her last text of the night said: "thanks for an amazing afternoon. Lunch was delicious, Batman was awesome (as usual) and you even got my favourite chocolate for dessert. I think the only thing that could have made this day better is if you were here to kiss me goodnight. Talk to you tomorrow!"
Wow. Haha, this is how I feel right now...
actually I made it, PurpleD gave me tips on getting the abstract parts
Yup! I can't take credit for the sig... I merely gave Chubbz some tips and he went from there! Great job, I say
Gods. Half the people I know have girlfriends, boyfriends, or otherwise have significant others. It's kinda depressing, actually. And my boss at Gamestop has to be 45 and has no one. I can see myself there.
Don't say that! Your manager probably doesn't put any effort into meeting people or putting himself out there. Just look at him as an example of what not to be and you'll be set!
Problem, though. If I get this transfer put through at gamestop... I'll either be in a store that's close to the home we HOPE to have, which means an hour drive in each direction. Or I'll be put in a store that's close to that Rectory... Which means long drive from the home when/if we get it.
Well a good scenario is that you can get the transfer and then you can just work there while you search for something closer/better for you?
Oh, and nice new pics Giga! You live in Calgary, right? I miss home... I should really head back there soon
That was quick. "Be right there" he called out as he scruffed up his hair in an attempt to hide the greasiness. Purely out of habit, Marek made sure his pistol was still in a drawer that was near the door. It's just f***ing pizza. No need to be so paranoid. He grabbed his wallet and opened the door, smellign the aromas and getting hungrier every second.

Haha, a very appropriate response. Well she came over for lunch today and it was great! I made a raspberry spinach salad and some avocado sandwiches and wowed her with my summer food expertise. She also ate three helpings, which is pretty impressive given that she's like 5'10 and maybe 120 lbs. So lunch was delicious and then we just spent the rest of the afternoon cuddling and watching Batman: TAS. We had a mini version of "the talk" and I just suggested that we enjoy our time together and if it develops into something more, then that's great. If not, then it's nice to just spend time together and recognize that we have great chemistry. Also, this gives my roommate a little more time to get used to the idea. So far I'm really happy with how things are going
this point i'm going to have to fight you on *puts on boxing gloves While relationships might have some bad parts (drama, break-ups, etc) it's the good parts (dates, flirting, more .......... things) that make them worthwhile. your point good sir
I didn't say that relationships are bad. I said that they're stupid; illogical, confusing, and frustrating. I didn't say that some of them aren't worth it...
Counterpoint served!
The only thing i'd ask is what 'some more suggestive things' entails. if it crosses the mason dixy line (yes, i made that analogy, deal with it XP) then i might say slow down, but again it's your thing (cuz i can't name it properly lol) so do as you wish
Haha, "more suggestive things" just means some making out and not much more. Don't worry, I won't cross the line quite yet... though we're going to a pub together this weekend so I don't know if I'll be able to resist!
Haha, but not actually. I don't want to be one of "those guys"
And regarding all the Twilight talk, I'm pretty sure the only good thing to EVER come out of those movies was an awesome Paramore song. It also helps that Hayley Williams is an absolute stunner.
Marek placed a scrap of paper to mark the page as he put down Hardt and Negri's Empire. Lost in thought, he glanced at the clock to see that it was much later than he thought it would be. His mind wouldn't rest, though his body was fatigued. The man ran his hands through his short black hair, noticing that it was greasy and in bad need of washing. The building hunger in his stomach would not subside, though his bank account didn't allow for it to be sated. "I guess I could order something cheap," he muttered as he picked up the phone to call a 24 hour pizza joint down the street. Eat. Shower. Sleep. The revolution can wait one day.

Yes, I think Edmonton takes Hall unless they trade out. That's just what my gut tells me.
I'm living in Edmonton right now and that's the general consensus. They want him here and have tremendous faith in him, especially playing with Eberle hopefully.
In other news, Byfuglien was shipped with Sopel for Marty Reasnor and a couple of picks. I'm actually pretty surprised at the value that the Hawks got for a cap dump. I think Byfuglien will be a decent fit in Atlanta (or as good as anyone can be, I suppose). He's not the franchise player to build around, but he's a player that demands attention.

For srs. Everyone knows that this is the nerdy forum equivalent of "let's takes this outside."
