He pulled about $360 worth of cards. Thanks for the recap I'm at work and couldn't write it. There was also some other things like bolt and vines of vast wood. But like I was saying minus the foil Karn pack 2 which won't happen for most of us. That person gets screwed for sealed. You could say toss the packs in a pile then pass them out but then literally one person could get all the mythics and two people are screwed. Although 3 mythics per box seems real nice and should happen consistently. Sorry if you open a comet storm.
The best we can hope for is if they have changed the sorting for the set to include 1 Mythic foil and 1 Rare foil for each box. We can dream.
while i agree completely, did they actually say thats why they didn't include scry?
Yes the amount of mechanics was the concern.
Which means instead of targeting this at actual "masters" that are already playing the full version of modern and know how all the mechanics interact they're targeting this at people much less than fully skilled at the format.
Hence why they should call it "Modern beginners" or "Modern noobs" or "Modern Amateurs".
Actually, drop the modern from the title, as although theyre modern legal, hardly anything sees modern play, as a percentage.
Call it just reprint beginners and be done.
They might as well just have made this into the next core set for 2016 by the looks of it, at least it would have been half the price.
I don't recall, in a very long time, such a vocal majority being ticked about Magic product. It almost seems like they should say something, for damage control purposes, don't you think? With such an extreme backlash to the spoiler for this set, do you think Wizards is going to address it at all?
They'll do nothing. Hasbro has Wizards plan literally EVERYTHING years in advance. This Modern Masters set with Serum Visions as an FNM promo decision was likely made nearly two years ago. They have no idea how things will shape up years in advance of a product being created, and can't really adjust on the fly because they are in the stranglehold of Hasbro's shareholders and board. They are making movies and board games. The cards will be secondary to toys and movies and TV shows if Hasbro has their way.
Wizards will just watch prices of certain cards skyrocket and other cards become nearly impossible to afford for the average player who wants to play Eternal formats. They want you to play Standard. The people who run Wizards are actually Hasbro. Just look at Wizard's Glassdoor reviews. People hate Wizard's current CEO and see him as a corporate stooge who doesn't even play Magic. And they don't like being under so much control by Hasbro. But Hasbro is way too powerful for anyone to buy Wizards out and take the company independent.
What do you expect? Reserve List cancellation? From the Vault: Tarmogoyf? Modern Masters MSRP lowering? Wizards needs at least ten lawyers and stockbrokers to run that by Hasbro before it would meet approval.
Wow, I'd never even heard of Glass Door in my life, but just wow. I almost have to laugh, if it weren't so sad. It's like everything we're saying about the problems with Magic...on a corporate level. No one is listening, it sometimes doesn't seem like they know what they're doing, why are are we getting a set of cards for Modern when 9/10 aren't used in the format at all ever...Then I read the reviews of corporate bullying, lack of innovation, a clique atmosphere where new ideas are punished or stolen, petty, ego-filled children in middle management happy to have a job there even when it pays 35% below the rest of the area. Guess they have problems all their own that explains how this stuff ends up on our plate.
Thank for pointing it out. As for what I was expecting, I just meant do you think they'll put up an article explaining all of this.
Have not heard of Glass Door either but after checking the feedback left from those who work/have worked in Wizards it seems MTG is being mismanaged completely by the corporate leadership of Hasbro. Sounds to me like warning sirens, wonder where this game might be heading for in the near future.
Had a look at Tempest Remastered which is only available on MTGO and its a hell of a lot better compared to MM2015!! Whoever was in charge of that should have designed MM2015!
I have looked at the prices (over bloated ofcourse) for MM 2015 cards in SCG and found this out:
1. Out of the 15 Mythics there are 8 which command a price of $39.99 and over
2. Out of the 53 Rares there are 8 which command a price of $19.99 and over
3. Out of the 80 uncommons there are 12 which command a price of $0.99 and over
Not even gona go into the commons pile.
If I calculate this right in a box of MM2015 if you get 2 good Mythics out of the 3 which carry a price of $39.99 and 4 Rares which would be priced at $19.99 and then maybe get all the uncommons priced at $0.99 that would equal to around $172 in value. This would not include the probability of getting a good foil out of the 24 in the box.
Just my 2 cents. Don't really know what to make of this. Frankly, I'm tired of thinking.
Time to cancel the pre orders! We have been had and now as people won't be buying more boxes the singles will be more expensive to buy as everyone wanting the good cards will have to turn to buying them as such. This is the beginning of the end. Maybe when MTG turns into Yu-gi-oh we can get the stuff we want.
Went 3 wins 1 draw 0 loss on this build. First game vs Blue Tron w/ Mindslaver was 1-1 then draw as time ran out. Second game vs Dredge Vengevine deck 2-1. Third game vs Splinter Twin 2-1 with Vines, Gutshot and Dismember doing the trick for me game 3. Last games vs Scapeshift 2-0 with Choke holding him off last game and me doing double kicked vines on Baloth for the win
I reckon some people get paid by SCG to post here Back to topic though, I can already see prices going higher on some staples as the demand will outstrip the supply even with MM 2015 coming out. Good for all the stores holding the cards as they have the option to hold on to the cards before selling it for the price they want. If the leak is right I just wonder what other cards are being reprinted and how much this would affect the prices of MM 2015 booster boxes.
If you check Starcitygames now you will find most of the cards listed in the leak are now "out of stock" which means this list is most certainly real. Reason is SCG always holds back on money cards when they know a big profit margin is coming their way and MM 2015 fits right into that slot. See for yourselves.
If your running Avatar of the Resolute I think its better to run 2-3 Scavenging Ooze to back up E1 and SG to get counters on it. Plus SO main board gives us good graveyard hate.
